For this interview I wanted to find someone who’d been playing HKO for awhile. I headed to Sanrio Harbour knowing there are almost always some players hanging around who’ve completed their quests.

And here they are! Look at that little blue guy…his name is Drippet. It suits him.

After getting the ok to use her character name in my blog, we began:

Zaphod: ok 1st: when did you start playing?
AnyaAnya: i first heard about HKO about 2-3 years ago
AnyaAnya: i heard that Sanrio is gonna make an online game
AnyaAnya: so i subsribed for email notification
AnyaAnya: and when the first closed beta was out, i signed up
AnyaAnya: i forgot the exact date, sry
Zaphod: thats ok
Zaphod: what was your first impression of the game?
AnyaAnya: but there must be info somewhere
AnyaAnya: the first impression is very cute.
Zaphod:
AnyaAnya: i was excited to see all the sanrio characters
AnyaAnya: i meant the game is very cute. exceeded expectation
AnyaAnya: and i was eager to continue playing, hoping i can meet
AnyaAnya: more sanrio characters as i quest more along the way
Zaphod: was there a tutorial for this version of the game?
AnyaAnya: there were videos on the HKO website
Zaphod: oh nice!
AnyaAnya: they taught u how to farm, fight and things like that
Zaphod: about game play: how easy was it to find your way around?
Zaphod: oh very good
AnyaAnya: at first, i didn’t know what to do, but a GM
AnyaAnya: pointed me to the right direction and immediately
AnyaAnya: i knew what to do
AnyaAnya: and i could quest on my own
AnyaAnya: i did ask for more help with farming and stuff
AnyaAnya: but it would say very easy

Zaphod: did many people ask where sora is?

AnyaAnya: cause i didn’t know how to open the maps yet

Coming up…an interview with a male HKO player.

Ok I’m trying out this day in the life of thingy.

Since I’ve finished all quests (except pet hunt quests) available in HKO at this time, I’m not in the game much these days. So I thought I’d interview a few players to get their perceptions on the game. To start, I wanted to find someone new to the game and ask about their first impressions. There were no new players in Sanrio Harbour or Florapolis that I could find. But I did come across Melona in South Dream Forest. She was hunting boxpigs. Ah, I remember those quests.

I asked Melona if I could interview her for my blog and if it was ok to use her character name (as opposed to keeping her anonymous). She agreed and we began the interview:

Zaphod: is this your first character in HKO?
Melona: yep
Zaphod: you dont mind if I use your character name in my blog?
Melona: its fine
Zaphod: how long have you been playing?
Melona: 2 days
Zaphod: wow! how do you like it so far?
Melona: its so cute hehe
Zaphod:
Zaphod: did you find the tutorials and dream room helpful?
Melona: i don’t know what dream room is
Zaphod: when you made your character you started in a tutorial roo
Zaphod: room. talking to keroppi?
Zaphod: it showed you how to walk and right click on the npc..
Melona: ohh

Zaphod: and did you participate in the dream carnival?
Melona: nope
Zaphod: ok one more question: how helpful have the GMs been?
Melona: i think they’re alright
Zaphod: excellent
