A recent article made it clear that it plans to still kill another 50 humpback whales out of the 761 already killed in under a year due to its "sham research permit".

Less than 1% of the Japanese population eats this kind of meat, most Japanese don’t care for it and parts of it is processed into school meals because it’s not edible enough in any other way than as ground whale meat as it’s very oily and fatty. Prior to World War 2, Whale meat was not popular or necessary, only the food shortages of that period made Whaling an essential need, but later on this dissappeared.

Despite the fact that killing an extinct species is already silly is the fact that this is a deeply unpopular move internationally and that old time idiots who keep insisting on Whaling are holding back potential for Japanese industries like tourism and other such things, I am positive that a message to stop Whaling will increase tourism by Japan a lot due to the global goodwill that will be generated.

Japan used to also kill Dolphins while hunting for Tuna and this was so unpopular that it created a massive backlack economically against Japan that required it to look for alternatives, so why not consider those consequences? Apparently Japan spent almost 100 billion yen just to lobby countries to agree with them to side on the Whaling issues, small meaningless island countries like St. Kitts, the same countries that vote for any other country that pays them, like the ones that still claim Taiwan is the real China.

Stop killing the whales, you’ll do yourself a big favour and a young generation of Japanese might actually respect you for it too….
