You made what?!

Arts and crafts gone awry.

What’s this, you say?

Travelmate, indeed

It’s a disposable ice cream scoop! It’s an individual portion chicken soup dispenser! No, it’s a travelmate!!!

Travelmate provides a system which is designated to enable women to pee standing up. Yep. Pee. Standing up. Like guys. Sigmund Freud is having a field day.

No more men in ponchos!

September 26th, 2007 by yberry:hellokitty.com

I really mean it!

Ponchos suck. And they are of those rare things that even putting on deliciously gorgeous people can’t make better.

If I ever want my husband to leave me I will knit him a poncho.

* If you are fed up with me reviewing fugly knits, bear with me. I know that one of these days soon I am going to hit the motherload of snarky crafts and then life will become even more unbearable.

Suede is for shoes and bags!

Suede top, skirt, and cap

I never got why anyone thinks suede should be knit. The thought of handling suede cords with my fingers makes me break out in a cold sweat. And making a fugly fringey free for all doesn’t motivate me to change my position on this.
I don’t even really appreciate suede on shoes and bags - it’s kinda tacky and a beeeeeyotch to clean.
But puh-lease. You won’t be seeing any suede cords on my wist.

And forgive me for the lack of spirit. I’ve been homebound with two sick babies for 3 days now and am going quite gaga.

Bad Winona!

Cover of Vogue Aug. 07

Ok, it’s not Winona who was bad. Bad Marc Jacobs!
Just because it’s the cover of a magazine doesn’t mean that you have to show a ridiculous dress that nobody in her right mind would ever wear unless she were either a drag queen or somebody’s birthday present.

Winona, honey, stick to shoplifting. You looked better then.

Oh goody!

I just fell off my pony!

I just discovered another rare gem, designer Zoya Woolwitch (wool-witch, like yarn-ho but classier?!), who promises that by buying her e-books, you, too will be able to knit such haute couture like the above creation, which I will fondly refer to as “Of course I go riding in this - I have no boobs and get a kick out of chafing my thighs!”, as well as many others which will undoubdtedly be reviewed in future posts.

Bonus points for the model’s footwear. I dare you to wear those when you are 9 months pregnant without requiring surgery to have them removed. From the designer’s butthole, that is.

Yeah, so you knit what?!

Mitered square cardigan

First up to bat, had to go with something I remembered from a while back.
I love mitered squares. They’re so much fun to work with, and so very gratifying. I love the choice of colors, too. I always say - the brighter, the better.
However, erm, how shall I put this lightly? If I wanted to wear an afghan, I wouldn’t bother with the fuss of making sleeves and shaping it into a sweater.
It’s really nice in theory, but no surprise as to why the person modeling was pictured with her head cut off. I would cut off my own head, too, if I were forced to wear this and also actually be seen in it.

Walk-ins welcome!

I only recently discovered the brilliant You Knit What?!, which has sadly gone defunct.

This rare gem of a blog has already spawned several spin-offs, but I figured - if everybody else is doing it, why can’t I?

But, I figured that seeing as I am not only a knitter, and as the human race manages to shine in pure snark in all walks of life, I would post all things that make you go WTF, in all forms of creation. I don’t promise to post everyday, but will make an effort to repeatedly prove that to err is human, and humanity is very errant indeed.

You are more than welcome to draw my attention to anything hideous that you feel should be presented here, including your very own masterpieces gone wrong. Drop me a line at yberry@hellokitty.com.

Thank you for your cooperation.
