1. When it is spring, you can meet Basil when you go to Sunny Lake (far west where the stargazing place is). You should receive a cut-scene when you meet Basil.

2. When you have a yarn maker, sheep, dye pot, and clippers; start shearing your sheep for money! The worst wool you can get from a sheep is dull wool. After you use dull wool to make dull yarn, definitely find some herbs (orange, purple, red) or flowers (blue mist moon) and dye the yarn with the dye pot before you ship it out. It raises the price of the yarn by a lot! For normal yarn, it is up to you if you want to dye it or not. I believe that the shipping price of the items you dyed the normal yarn with is simply added to the total shipping cost of the normal yarn, so it’s up to you if you want to dye or not. For shiny wool (shiny yarn), just ship it as is (no dye).

1. When first coming to Flower Bud Village, take advantage of the lack of residents in the village: use the land where they would move into before they come. This includes planting your crops on the wonderful soils of this “public” land and chopping down its trees (that would have been destroyed and WASTED when these other villagers move in). Enjoy it while it lasts!

2. When low on cash, go foraging for it! Head for the hills (or mountains, whatever they are) and gather all the herbs, fruits, branches, honey, and flowers whenever they’re in season. You can also head down the beaches to comb for coral. Mushrooms and toadstools can also be shipped for money, but they’re better as cheap gifts for certain villagers. As a last resort, steal stakes from public areas and ship them!

3. When collecting herbs, keep the green herbs for herb tea (buy a pot from the Tool Shop to make it) for Nina and Basil. The other herbs can be shipped for gold or kept for dyeing. I usually keep 2-3 colored herbs in my fridge to dye yarn when needed.

Summer has been really boring so far. Apart from the one beach party I went to, that was pretty much my summer. Fifteen days into it, and I haven’t done anything significant. I attended a graduation on Saturday. The sky was overcast until the graduation began (perfect timing…), and we were cooked under the sun for a few hours. I was bored after my friend’s name was called, so I wandered around with my sister. Fun.
