Day 3 Shinjuku (Sakura)

Today we go to see Sakura in Shinjuku! Actually we are a bit late to see Sakura in mid April, but I don’t mind - I haven’t seen Sakura before and I have checked the news about Sakura, it is still OK to go to see it now.

I have some time to go shopping when I am waiting for my brother to come, and I see some boy scouts and girl guides selling flags for charity outside Seibu. I found that the Japanese people won’t walk near you and sell, they simply stand there and you can come to them and buy. Benson bought a feather for environmental protection.

We like the stores in Ikebukuro very much so we are a bit late to see Sakura. To save some time, we even eat hamburgers in the garden.

It is gorgeous! We haven’t seen Sakura before so we take lots of pictures of the first tree.

Shinjuku Royal Garden is the best 100 places to see Sakura, and it is a large area with lots of species of Sakura. It is mid April now but the Sakura is still gorgeous, I can imagine how beautiful it is earlier with more blossoms! Although it is not very sunny and a bit cold today, we are still happy to see Sakura together.

This tree is like casting down its head, so special.

It is quite romantic to see the fallen blossoms.

I see some green and white blossoms too.

Without Sakura the garden still looks good.

The garden closes at 4:30pm and we didn’t leave until the last minute - It really worths ¥200

We leave the quiet garden and go back to the city. It is time for food! We let my brother choose a restaurant and ……

He chooses one called "銀座カンカン". This restaurant is OK and it is recommended by the travel book too. Its style is about the past and every room has a theme. We enjoy the privacy too as here is "one room, one table". The only drawback of this restaurant is that the ventilation system is not good enough and my throat does not feel well.

But what I want to say is about the "Dark Pot" my brother ordered. He didn’t know what it is, and he just thought its name is special, so he ordered one.

My brother is the only person here who can speak Japanese, so we all respect his choice. However, when the pot is finally ready, we found crocodile meat, pettitoes, sparrow, liver, quail’s egg and edible frog’s legs in it!

My brother hates edible frog so much, oh my god,you see his face? He checked the menu again and found that it is written that what in the pot are! He said, "I swear I will learn Japanese very well!"

Thanks the pot! You are not for eating but you encourage my brother to learn
