We are now visiting a Japanese temple - The Haiden.

It is the entrance.

It is not very large actually.

So what’s next? It is the International street! This street is a bit like Nathan road in Hong Kong, but it does not have as many stores as Nathan road. We see some local stores here indeed, and it is not a long street.

Again, this is the entrance.

This is Day 2 of the trip.

This is the scenery I see from the hotel.

I visit Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryukyu - This is where the king of Okinawa lived before it becomes Japan’s territories. The tour guide said during World War II, the US army destroyed here and what we see now is after reparation.

It is written "nation of courtesy".

This is what we see before entering the palace.

I know reader likes pictures more than texts, anyway, hope you can use my blog for references and I will post all of my pictures later.

On the first day, we gather at 6am (4 August, Tuesday) at Shun Tak Centre; we go to Macau by ferry and our flight will depart at Macau.

We will spend four days in Okinawa.
In the flight, there are six groups of travelers and more than two hundred people in total. For day 3 we can spend our time either on  beaches or sightseeing, and we choose the later. I eat rice with curry and chicken in the flight, it is not bad.

It takes more than two hours to get to Okinawa, time is 2pm now (Hong Kong is 1pm).

Weather is good - 33°C.

First we go to JUSCO and buy some fruits, my mother chooses a peach (HK$13), it is yummy!

Day 6 Tsukiji Market+Akihabara
This is the last day of our trip as well as the first time I visit Tsukiji Market. Visitors are not allowed to enter the fish market now so we only go shopping and eat some food in Tsukiji Market. We get up early this morning and have a nice and yummy breakfast!

This is the famous Yamato Sushi, we arrive before 8 so we don’t need to wait long, it is great!

Benson and I order two sushi sets (including Sea Urchin, Shrimp, etc): we thought that we are not able to eat so much, but the chef said we shouldn’t share a set. Finally…we can finish the two sets of sushi! Each set costs ¥3,500,yummy!

The grilled egg is recommended by the travel book, it is actually eggs in rectangular shape. My brother loves egg so we try a box of it. I think it is just ok and it is too sweet.

There are many "cars" in the market, the fishermen just don’t want visitors to block their ways.

We buy this snack as a gift for friends, Benson takes a photo with it and it makes the salesperson laugh!

Day 5 Yokohama

It is a relaxing day in Yokohama and we have plenty of time for breakfast. We go to Mister Donut as we want to buy the toys for my brother. My parents and Benson don’t think donut is a yummy thing, but we still have breakfast here for my brother - it is team spirit! Actually, if you don’t like donut, you can choose rice or noodle. I personally like the donuts very much, it is crispy and not too sweet. You see the cute toys in the picture? We don’t have the iconic lion as it is sold out!

After breakfast, we go to a hotel and book limousine fares. Since we get on the wrong train and alight at the wrong station, it makes our estimated time delayed for almost one hour! I have to apologize, but it is good for our health that we walk more. By the way, it’s worth buying the JR’s one day pass if you travel to Yokohama. It takes about 30 minutes to get to MM21. Actually, we only see the scenery near Cosmo World, take some photos and go for a walk in Yokohama.

The Sakura is more beautiful with nice weather!

Now we are in Yokohama, we are 1.5 hours late and it’s time for lunch! We go to the noodle museum as my mother likes noodle very much - we pay the entrance fees and see the traditional decoration inside, completed with eating yummy noodles!

We choose the "Shanghai Dragon", as its soup looks not too oily.

Day 4 Hakone Kowakien

We ate eggs in Kowakien and we are not hungry now. I told my mother we can visit Lake Ashi by pirate (ship), she thinks it is interesting! Let’s go!

Lake Ashi is very well-known for its nice scenery, but I think Thousand Island in Canada is more beautiful.

We enjoy the scenery as well as the sweet potatoes!

We alight at Motohakone and visit the temple.

We’ve been walking for more than 10 minutes and the place looks scary. It is just like the comic(Doraemon) that Nobita and Gian are playing on the mountain and they see the scary white light! We want to return…wait! It is not ghost, it is the incense sticks only!

Day 4 Hakone Kowakien

My parents haven’t visited Hakone Kowakien before (last time they visited Tokyo and the tour guide only brought them to Mount Fuji><), so today we are heading to Hakone Kowakien - a well-known hot spring resort. We are not very interested in trying the hot spring so we simply spend a day here.

We get up at 6am this morning and go to Hakone by Odakyu Electric Railway’s Odawara line. The train would arrive at 7:49am and we arrived 20 minutes earlier; however, we still missed the train. Why? Because we waited at the wrong platform!

We are at Odawara now! Let’s go to Yumoto!

We didn’t have breakfast this morning so we find this bean curd store and buy some food. To find this store, we asked some Japanese people - they all know about this store and they are very nice! In Shinjuku people are just too busy to help us!

This is a small place and we are eating bean curd, sesame bean curd…all of them are yummy!

Day 3 Shinjuku (Sakura)

Today we go to see Sakura in Shinjuku! Actually we are a bit late to see Sakura in mid April, but I don’t mind - I haven’t seen Sakura before and I have checked the news about Sakura, it is still OK to go to see it now.

I have some time to go shopping when I am waiting for my brother to come, and I see some boy scouts and girl guides selling flags for charity outside Seibu. I found that the Japanese people won’t walk near you and sell, they simply stand there and you can come to them and buy. Benson bought a feather for environmental protection.

We like the stores in Ikebukuro very much so we are a bit late to see Sakura. To save some time, we even eat hamburgers in the garden.

It is gorgeous! We haven’t seen Sakura before so we take lots of pictures of the first tree.

Shinjuku Royal Garden is the best 100 places to see Sakura, and it is a large area with lots of species of Sakura. It is mid April now but the Sakura is still gorgeous, I can imagine how beautiful it is earlier with more blossoms! Although it is not very sunny and a bit cold today, we are still happy to see Sakura together.

Day 2: Chiba+Drum Festival

One of the reasons for us to visit Tokyo is that my brother is studying here! His school is in Tokyo, but he lives in Chiba. We need two hours to get to there. Anyway, my brother’s Host Mama invites us to visit Chiba and she even prepares lunch for us! Yeah!

We don’t want to be late so we arrived 30 minutes earlier, and my brother also arrived early to meet us at the station. This station is not special, but we take a picture here happily.

Host Mama prepared Udon for us and after lunch we headed to Narita! We didn’t know Chiba is not close to Narita and we spent almost one hour to get to there. The Host Mama becomes a tour guide and brings us to a street where we can buy Japanese food and snacks such as sausages and rice balls. This place is really like what I saw in the Japanese animations when I was a kid.

Many visitors here!
