Hello Kitty Big City Dreams interview

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Transcript of a conference call by Gaming Angels…

Hello Kitty Big City Dreams

Hi everyone! I’m about to call in for the conference call. I will try to type as much of it as I can so that you know all the facts about Hello Kitty Big City Dreams!
Okay we’re dialed in on the call. Just waiting for it to start.
Interesting,…most of the people that have called in so far from other sites… all dudes
Triple point just got here
PJ from Empire Interactive is on the line to talk to us about the game. Director of product management.
Game is $29.99 based E for everyone release date on 10/28
Walking through pre-submitted questions:
What is the main game play scene: friendship and helping others.
You earn friendship points. Learn basic values and get rewarded for doing the right thing.
What is being done by development to reach target demo? No violence, very friendly and family oriented. (joke made about Hello Kitty going crazy)
How many hours of gameplay? Five hours to get penthouse. To get everything in game about 8.
What type of relationship did sanrio have with the development in the game? Pushed for accuracy and super involved with concept and animation. (my question!)
Will you be able to find the game at Sanrio stores? Yes, but no plans of pre-order bonus..yet
3D provides an immersive environment that is why they choose over 2D
Is there a multiplayer aspect? not this time around.

Sushi making is the favorite mini game. (these are all my questions)

Are you surprised by response by older HK fans? Not surprised at all. Sanrio brings in Hello Kitty fans of all ages and the game translates very well. Difficulty has been scaled for younger demo.
How much depth is there in room customization? Buy different themes with friendship points. Place items in room whereever you want.

Over 20 characters in the game. Old and new friends

There are 8 basic mini games. 8 smaller minigames too
Is the game part of a series? Not sure but it could warrent a sequel

Ice Cream scooper game is like an old school missle command game.

how many total items and themes included? Don’t know number but doesn’t have them all yet.
Well that was short. So here’s the deal. If you are a fan of HK or have a younger gamer in your family you may want to pick this up for her/him.
The game does have a sense of robustness with the mini games and sub mini-games, but it’s not going to take you really that long to play it. Replayability seems to be hinged on the fact that you try to up your score or collect everything for your apartment.
Again a cute game that I can’t wait to try out. It will be interesting to see how the 3D animation in the game plays out. Also, I’ll have to check if Hello Kitty has a mouth this time. ^_^
Thanks for reading our live blog of the conference call. This one a bit shorter than most. But I didn’t have any additional questions since they used all my questions before they opened up the forum.
Have a great day and remember Hello Kitty rules!
