Rukia has posted another melon-scratcher for us to ponder on. This time, she asked her readers if it’s possible for a person to actually CHANGE personalities.

Well, this question has always been a moral dilemma. Changing personalities means becoming something you’re not because your personality is something that’s inherent. Well, okay, you CAN change it but it takes a lot of soul searching. Are you doing it because you really want to? Are you changing because you know that what you’re doing is wrong or are you just changing so that you can conform or fit in? It’s like forcing a hardcore hiphop man to go to a hardcore metal concert. Oil and water, lamb and fish. It just doesn’t feel right.

Believe me, a lot of people change who they are so they become socially “acceptable”. Come on, if people don’t like you for who you are then it’s their loss but then again, that doesn’t mean that if you’re mean, you should continue to be mean. By a global, moral and universal point of view, being evil is wrong so you MUST do your best to curb it so that you will be a more peaceful person. Changing for all the wrong reasons is a large pitfall and must be avoided AT ALL COSTS.

Well, in any case, if you want to change for the better (the moral and universally-accepted good) then great! Good for you! If you’re doing it to impress a crowd out of climbing the social ladder, then too bad, you’re a rotten person. Of course, the people that you love and love you back should encourage your change for the better because even though they already love you for who you already are, a little added value won’t hurt now would it?
