Still here in sunny Florida.  Enjoying the great weather and of course the shopping!  We hit another Marshall’s branch.  That took us awhile, was able to get some good stuff too!  Then to Michaels where I got more of the great DIY jewelry pieces.  I find that they have a lot more selections than where I live in so naturally I got some to bring home.  After a quick lunch at my cousin’s home we then went to City Place.  It’s really a nice place unlike a mall where everything is enclosed.  Here they have all the stores out in the open.  I really don’t know how to explain so I guess the pictures will tell you more.  By night time, everything is lit up and festive looking.  Then we had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.  There was a long queue but my cousin was able to get us a table. Yummy food!

Tonight, it’s ladies night.  Plus, a celebration of the pink month of October for breast cancer. Inside one of the theater, they made a make shift convention of sorts for charitable institutions and other businesses to promote breast cancer awareness.  Even the firefighters went along with it, selling their own calendars as fundraiser for their cause.  And boy!  They are cute and macho to boot!!!  Pink drinks are also given out for free!  Got a little tipsy from it though.  A live band even played outdoors while people start dancing and partying.

Departed from Burbank around 11 am.  It was an unconfortable flight, we were already seated way at the back plus the seats aren’t that comfy enough.  There wasn’t even food served on the flight but drinks are complimentary which is good enough.  About 3 hours later we arrived at the Dallas airport.  Good thing we had about 2 hours to spare to catch our connecting flight to West Palm Beach.  The seating arrangement in the connecting flight is pretty much the same.  We were seated way farther from the 1st flight.  By that time, our necks are aching.  Learning from the 1st flight over.  We went out to buy food or else we would have starved on our way to Florida.  Though we did catch a few Z’s on the way too.  There’s a 3 hours time difference from Los Angeles.  We arrived at 9 plus in the evening and my cousin Jimmy picked us up from the airport.  Lots of catching up to do.

Tuban is a town in Bali. We stayed in Hotel Santika when we were in Tuban. Hotel Santika is within walking distance to another town, Kuta, which is the site of the 12 Oct 2002 and the 1 Oct 2005 Bali bombings. On the first day, we went for a walk along the Tuban/Kuta Beach and then to Kuta town. It was so freaking hot that I nearly melted into a pile of SG fats. Anyway, my pictures of Kuta:

Los Angeles, California.  Home of the legendary Lakers.  Okay I’m not a basketball fan.  But I thought that it would be a nice start for this post.  He he he.

October 2, 2008 (Thursday)

My brother in law James and my niece Jayme picked us up from the airport.  My sister Espie is already waiting for us in her home with her eldest daugther EJ.  It was nice to see them again.

October 3, 2008 (Friday)

The very next day, we picked some persimons in my sister’s backyard.  In the late afternoon we picked the kids up from school and we’re off to Las Vegas!  It took us about 6 hours to get there by car.  My brother in law drove the whole way through.  We got there around 11pm.  Stayed in Venetian!  The rooms is as awesome as ever.  We walked around the strip with my nieces til the wee hours of the morning.
