Recently I went on a summer trip with my boyfriend to the wonderful small town of Leavenworth!  All the shops and architecture are all based on a Bavarian village.  You can go to a European village without having to get on an airplane and leave the United States!

Our four hour drive was tiresome, but we kept following the road deeper and deeper into the Cascade Mountains and when we finally reached Leavenworth, it was all worth while.  The small town with it’s beautiful little shops all nestled in the mountains.  The view was so pretty!  Here is a picture I took as we stepped out of our car.  It was more breathtaking in real life, trust me.

In town, there is a big candy shop and a toy shop that any Hello Kitty fan would love!  There is a shop full of porcelain dolls and also my personal favorite, Die Musik Box.  It’s full of jewelry boxes from the most simple to the most extravagant and expensive!  There was a music box that looked like a minaiture theater complete with a tiny ballerina that danced if you put a quarter in it.  The tag said it cost a few thousand dollars….  Yikes!  But my boyfriend put a quarter in and we got to see it in action for 25 cents!  That store was so beautiful I got teary eyed inside because there isn’t anything like that where I live.  The owner will play any music box for you, all you have to do is ask!  Below is a picture of the Jewelry box store.

Below is a picture of the cute and tiny fairy music box my boyfriend bought me.

Most people prefer to walk around on the sidewalks and go to each shop.  But of course if you want the full experience you should definitely travel in a horse drawn carriage!

My boyfriend and I held hands as we walked down the streets.  It was so beautiful and romantic!  There were baskets and baskets of flowers all up and down the street.  The hot weather made the scent waft in the air, it was like a fairy tale.  I just remember how happy the people were around me and the positive energy that radiated around us.

The colors of the flowers were so vibrant!  It was amazing.  Neon pinks, deep reds, tiger-lily orange…

Here is a picture of one of the hotels you can stay in while visiting Leavenworth.

For lunch we stopped at McDonalds.  During our shopping experience we got plenty of drinks because there was a lot of walking!  Leavenworth was the best place that my boyfriend ever took me.  I really didn’t expect how beautiful it would be until I got there.  It really touched my heart.  It was the most romantic trip ever!  And the best isn’t over yet…  When Christmas get here the entire town will be covered in Christmas lights and there will be festivities and music for everyone.  I can’t wait to come back.

Here is a link for those of you who want to learn more and see more pictures!  Enjoy!  Thank you for reading my blog.  =]

Currently I live in Germany so the flight to London was not that long.  As an American that doesn’t speak German, it was nice to see English signs again! Although I could hardly understand the locals sometimes lol. British English and American English are very different, but it was fun to learn the terms.

I am posting about this trip for the Travel the World contest! (http://blog.hellokitty.com/traveltheworld)  My photo of me with a Hello Kitty item is in the last picture ^_^ teehheee

Here is a picture of the center square, it was so busy and busling with people! 3.jpg

Me and FISHAYS!! At the London Aquarium. I <3 fishies!! ^_^

We went to Leicester Square and saw the latest Superman movie (yes that is how long ago this vacation was, but it was a blast!). The sign outside was neat, we got to watch them put it up.  See the crane in the photo?

At one point we stumbled upon Chinatown. There was this GREAT punk rock bar there.  We went in and had a beer, and I wanted a shot of taquilla.  The bartender (A girl with a mohawk) said they had no lemon or oranges or anything like that, just streight taquilla. it was awesome! LOL

October 12, 2008 (Sunday)

Ever heard of Jupiter?  Aside from being a part of the solar system, it can also be found here in Florida.  It takes about 45 minutes to an hour drive from West Palm Beach to Jupiter, Florida.   Achi Lina drove us there to visit the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and museum.  The lighthouse has been lighted in the 1860’s and it has 105 steps from base to the top.  We did go up and I sure felt my legs ache today.  It wasn’t that scary to go up.  But it was unnerving to get down.  Interesting though, you can buy a brick for a hundred dollars or so and  that they can put whatever dedication you want on it.  Then they will be a part of the bricked path going to the lighthouse. Good way to leave a memento behind.   A lot of weddings happen there too, and some bricks where a reminder of that day! For more info and history about the Jupiter Lighthouse go to www.jupiterlighthouse.org

SanrioTown’s Travel the World  Event

My family and I went on a trip to China from May 28 - June 7, 2008. It was the first ever trip for the whole family so we were all very excited! We didn’t join a tour though. We booked our flights and hotels online and searched for maps, subway routes, and tourist spots on the internet. Most of the people there can’t speak English. It was a good thing my parents can speak Mandarin, although not very fluently. During our flight from Manila - Shanghai, I won an inflatable giraffe in a “bring me” game.

DAY 1 - Shanghai

I met up with my friend from high school who now lives in Shanghai. She offered to be our tour guide for the day. We walked around the city, went to People’s Square, drank some milk tea, and had lunch at Crystal Jade Restaurant. My family then took a train from Shanghai to Beijing that night.

DAY 2 - Beijing

We walked around the city during the day. At night, we went to Wangfujing district and bought food from the famous Food Street. They eat anything there. I saw scorpions, starfishes, beetles, lizards, crickets, etc. We just bought the boring but reliable pork, beef and chicken.
