What better way to catch up with best friends than a trip to Honolulu, Hawaii?!
I haven’t seen two of my best friends, Reema & Sunny, since we met at summer camp, a little over 10 years ago! They came to Camp Puh’Tok (in the US) from India and Korea and we immediately bonded and had one of the best summers ever. Unfortunately, at the end of the summer, they had to return home (Reema’s from India and Sunny’s from Korea). We’ve kept in touch through e-mail and IM and decided that it is time that we finally meet again! Could we plan a summer trip that would top the one from over 10 years ago??
We decided to take the trip of a lifetime! This is where our Honolulu adventure begins…
~~~
We decided it would be best to meet in Hawaii, since the three of us are from different parts of the globe. I had a longgg flight from Miami, FL (where I am from), but luckily I had some cuddly friends to join me and my luggage!
Alas, I was off to the airport, where I slept most of the way to Hawaii. Finally, after almost half the day of travel, I landed in Honolulu on the island of O’ahu!!
I was first to land and arrive at our hotel. I was able to get some rest and wind down as each Sunny and Reema made their way to the hotel from their side of the globe.
Our hotel was incredible…
And the view, breathtaking..
Look who decided to join me on the balcony
I think they were really enjoying the view..
*Tick, tock* the time ticked away……. And then finally, a knock at the door! And then another!!!
I assume we were just wayy too excited to take pictures when we were finally reunited (which I am QUITE sad about), but we had a very colorful, happy greeting full of squeals and constant hugs (as you can probably imagine).
After unwinding and a million and one questions, we decided to hit the BEACH!!
It was soooooooooooooo pretty!!!!
My new beachbag! ![]()
Me playing with my phone.. it was soo beautiful and relaxing out there!
Sunny went for a nap…
…while Reema and I played a little frisbee. It was wayyyy too much fun
Look who decided to play in the sand..
After hours by the beach, all we could think of was FOOD and dessert~
Not sure if I’ve ever told you, but… I loveeeee sushi… I mean, I reallyy LOVE SUSHI! So.. guess what we had?
Sushi!
The only sutable thing to do next was pick up some dessert. Can you guess what we decided to go for? (Ooo, look who is trying to sneak a peek! )
Cupcakes!!!
The one with pink icing was alllll mine.. chocolate with strawberry buttercream, mMmm. Possibly the best cupcake ever!
I guess Domokun was hungry too.. (No kitties were harmed in taking this pic). If Domo weren’t so cute and loveable, then this would almost be scary lol.
Following dessert and dinner… I went out and danced the night away with my favorite girls ![]()
Day 1 was a dream…
The rest of the trip was equally amazing, we did a little bit of EVERYTHING!
One of our first missions was surfing!! If you have never been before, you must try it!! This was probably the most exciting and memorable part of the trip for us. The challenge and thrill was absolutely incredible, even for first time surfers!
The next mission was shopping!! (because it is oh-so-important!).
Sunny found a cute ring at the ‘Made In Hawaii’ fair
I think Hello Kitty wanted to wear my new purse..
I found my DREAM wedding dress, it’s PINK! I will have to go back and find it one day… Isn’t it perfect?
We saw some kitties for sale (I wanted all of them)
All the shopping made us hungry for more dessert!
My fresh berry and cream crepe was yummyyyy. Needless to say, it didn’t last very long.
As you can see, we had a LOT of dessert on the trip…
Sugarbunny ate my pastry! >.<
More Honolulu nights with the girls!
We discovered a beautiful natural beach at Hanauma Bay, can you see the coral reef?
Look who crept in the picture! >.<
We saw beautiful lei, waterfalls, and koi!
And then… I discovered my favoriteeee flower, the plumeria! Some of them come in pink! (though, I couldn’t find any that grew naturally >.<)
I absolutely love flowers.. Look at the pretty hibiscus, we’ve got these in Miami too.
A very nice lady made a lei that I could wear on my head
At the Waquarium (Waikiki Aquarium), we found Nemo (again)
…and Dory too (didn’t think she was missing)
The end was near…. We went for pizza on our last day…
It was a very sad, sad meal… we didn’t want to leave ![]()
Five fabulous days spent with best friends.. exploring sunny beaches, eating cupcakes, shopping, and Hello Kitty! What more could a girl ask for?
I wonder where our next reunion will take us…
I’m glad you didn’t win. You don’t deserve it. Stealing someone else’s photos and claiming it as your own is just LAME.
Did you really think you weren’t going to get caught??? It’s a good thing I happened to catch this and recognize my friend’s photos. Just to let you know, my friend and I already informed you to Sanrio. I hope you are ready to face the consequences of your actions and THINK TWICE before you steal someone else’s photos.
Seriously, what kind of satisfaction do you get from getting recognized for photos taken by someone else. Who knows if you even went to Hawaii. And what right do you have to complain about only being a merit winner when the entry you posted wasn’t even with your pictures??? THE NERVE!! AND THE SHAME!! Aren’t you embarassed at all?? Don’t you have any morals or sense? To act this low, I’m guessing you have very little of both.
Don’t ever think that you could steal something and not suffer the consequences. What goes around surely comes around.
You’ve apologized to Sanrio and took your posts down, but I think you should apologize to everyone else in Sanriotown who you have deceived.
