I am still enjoying my stay in Manila… Hello Kitty and I tagged along to Boracay with Chris and Chrissie! Boracay is so beautiful — it was paradise and I highly recommend going if you ever get a chance to visit the Philippines (actually, I would make that the #1 place to visit here)…

Kitty-chan was so happy to be in Boracay! And we were so lucky because it did not even rain! (it’s rainy season right now).

I finally tried Halo-halo and Mmmm! It was mas sarap (very delicious)!

We went island hopping and got some snorkeling into the schedule… I also had an allergic reaction to a puffer fish and the results were UG-LY! My bottom lip was swollen! It was like 5x the size of my upper lip — I looked like a cartoon character!!! But the trip was still so much fun!

The third day of our trip we headed back home, but on our way we drove to the Abukuma-do caves. The caves are right next to the Hoshi no Mura (”Village of Stars”) Observatory, but we didn’t have a chance to go to the observatory. ; ; But the caves were really cool! I got some really great pictures, and it was quite a hike through them. And since the caves and observatory were on the side of a mountain, there was quite a spectacular view of the surrounding country side. I fiddled with my new camera and managed to take a “stitched” photo which made a big panoramic shot.

After that we headed back home, but we stopped at a Starbucks in Fukushima city. Across from the Starbucks was a neat little Indian restaurant that I couldn’t help but take a picture of. ^^ Wow that’s a lot, but it was a lot longer then any of the trips I’ve been on so far.

I dont think I have done this before. I am going to blog about this holiday diarily.

Day 1 (Thursday):
Our flight was due to leave at 3:15PM at SG Budget Terminal. We had some good lunch at the airport before we checked in a suitcase. Everything was so neat at SG Budget Terminal. The flight lasted for 50 mins and before we knew it, we were at KL Budget Terminal. It was a very short and smooth flight, and we were happily getting out of the plane and looking so forward to life and such, and for a split second when I saw this long fat queue oozing out of the terminal entrance, I actually felt quite light-hearted about it. What is that? Queueing up for washroom? With passports in hands? LOL.

No. That was the queue for immigration clearance. We had to join the queue not inside but outside the terminal! Can you imagine that? It was so long, and so freaking slow! It took us about an hour or more before they were done with us. Fortunately, getting a cab at the airport was pretty easy and the flat cab rate that we paid before we got a cab was really cheap considering the more than an hour’s ride to our hotel. We were really glad that we got a cab that easily, that it was paid for at the beginning and so we didnt have to worry about extra charges if there was a traffic jam.

Tada! Traders Hotel from the outside of Traders Hotel…

Recently I went on a summer trip with my boyfriend to the wonderful small town of Leavenworth!  All the shops and architecture are all based on a Bavarian village.  You can go to a European village without having to get on an airplane and leave the United States!

Our four hour drive was tiresome, but we kept following the road deeper and deeper into the Cascade Mountains and when we finally reached Leavenworth, it was all worth while.  The small town with it’s beautiful little shops all nestled in the mountains.  The view was so pretty!  Here is a picture I took as we stepped out of our car.  It was more breathtaking in real life, trust me.

In town, there is a big candy shop and a toy shop that any Hello Kitty fan would love!  There is a shop full of porcelain dolls and also my personal favorite, Die Musik Box.  It’s full of jewelry boxes from the most simple to the most extravagant and expensive!  There was a music box that looked like a minaiture theater complete with a tiny ballerina that danced if you put a quarter in it.  The tag said it cost a few thousand dollars….  Yikes!  But my boyfriend put a quarter in and we got to see it in action for 25 cents!  That store was so beautiful I got teary eyed inside because there isn’t anything like that where I live.  The owner will play any music box for you, all you have to do is ask!  Below is a picture of the Jewelry box store.

Below is a picture of the cute and tiny fairy music box my boyfriend bought me.

The first place we saw on our second day of the trip was Goshiki-numa, the 5 Colored Ponds. We started off at the foot of the trail which has a nice visitor center and restaurant. Bishamon-numa, the first pond, which was a beautiful blue and we saw some people feeding ducks. ^^ I couldn’t believe how vibrant the color of the water was, very cool stuff. Then we hit the trail and walked for a bit and came to the next pond, Aka-numa, which was a very creamy green color. We were getting pretty warm out by then, but it felt really nice in the shade. Then we walked for a bit more and came to the next one, Midoro-numa, which was a crazy reddish and green color. You can definitely tell that there is some iron in that water XD

Along the way we saw some families enjoying the trail too, and some of the kids had nets and little insect viewing cases. Bug collecting is very big here from what I can tell, the popular insects to catch are these gigantic beetles that scare the crap outta me XD They sell them in some pet stores, and I can’t imagine having one of those in my house, blah.
