She is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist who is famous for her youtube video uploads of her singing the acoustic versions of cover songs from famous artists/bands like Linkin Park, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Nelly Furtado, etc.

This is her singing one of my favourite songs - All Good Things Come to an End - by Nelly Furtado. I am usually not a big fan of such acoustic videos of famous-wannabes but I have to admit that she is quite good. I like her voice and she looks like she has the potential to be famous. Perhaps every now and then, I might even prefer to listen to her singing this song rather than Nelly herself, and I listen to Nelly’s at least once a day!

I had intended to stop here for this post but I just found out that she had already signed with Hollywood Records and completed her first album of original songs before she started uploading to youtube, videos of her singing famous artists/bands’ cover songs. Thinking back, I had noticed several of her video uploads and even listened to one or two of them just to hear what she can do with the already famous songs. She had used the original artist/band’s name and the original song title as the title to her video uploads, so I do not have to explain how her video uploads in Youtube, and subsequently her name, became famous.

Frankly speaking, she sounds pretty talented but I think to be a famous musician, you not only need the talent, you need the right song/music and the right opportunity. Looking at what she had done to make herself more visible, and subsequently, her original and subsequent albums, I think she had kind of cheated.

Can you believe this? Gong Li, a chinese-born two-time Golden Rooster, two-time Hundred Flowers Award, Berlinale Camera, Cannes Festival Trophy, National Board of Review, New York Film Critics Circle Award, and Volpi Cup winning film actress, is now a SG citizen and for one to be a SG citizen, she has to give up her other citizenship. Like why did she give up her Chinese citizenship when she could just remain as a PR here? Unless she is staying here? Woots.

Actually, I do not remember watching any of her movies, and I am not a big fan of hers. I just remembered her as some long-ago actress and some girlfriend of Zhang Yimou. When it was announced that she has been granted SG citizenship on 10 Nov 2008, I wiki’ied on her to find out more about MY COUNTRYMATE.

On Aug 26, 2008, Gong Li was reported to miss a Singapore citizenship ceremony, where new Singapore citizens collect their new identification cards and formally become Singaporeans. On Nov 10, 2008, Gong Li attended a citizenship ceremony held at Teck Ghee Community Club and received her Singapore citizenship certificate from Member of Parliament Lee Bee Wah.

If you have been following the Asian, or more specifically, Hong Kong entertainment news, you wouldnt have missed the sex scandal which involves Edison Chen and Gillian Chung (above), and many other high profile celebrities which include Maggie Q, Stephy, Niki Chow, Cecilia Cheung, Rosanne, Elva, Jolin, Gillian and Bobo Chan.

In just three days since last Sunday, xxx photos of Edison Chen and Gillian Chung, and then Edison Chen and Bobo Chan, were released in a pre-planned manner. You can easily find xxx photos of these three involved on the internet. There were also messages posted in between the releases of these photos, stating what would be next. Freaky! Okay, not exactly freaky, just well-informed!

Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG) representing both Edison and Gillian have made a police report and have claimed that the photos have been edited. Well, what do you think? It is said that the background of the supposedly edited photos is similar to the background of Edison’s home, as seen in one of the interviews which he had done in the past. It is also said that one of the shots has Gillian appearing exactly the same as a scene in one of her old movies.

The police in Hong Kong have listed this as a criminal case and are working with Interpol to track down the poster of these photos.

I think she looks cool. Maki Goto is a Japanese singer and a member of the J-pop group, Morning Musume. I so like her hair!!!

Brielle - a town and municipality in western Nederland, in the province of South Holland. We are going to stay there for a night with the family before we take a train to Maastricht.

(18 Dec, Tuesday) Maastricht - a municipality, and capital of the Dutch province of Limburg. The city is situated in the south-eastern part of Nederland. We are going to stay at Hotel de Pauwenhof for a night.
