In Paris with my little famous - Day 2

In sequence with In Paris with my little famous - Day 1

So our first day in Paris ended with a nice dinner and a short walk back to our hotel. I slept shortly after and woke up to another day of Paris. On this day, we took a train to Cité Station and headed towards the famous Notre Dame. On our way there, we took many nice pictures:

Guess who was wearing silly-looking red stocking in Paris?

We reached our first destination of the day, Notre Dame!

I love this picture. It is so neat. Admission to Notre Dame was free but we had to pay €3 to enter a particular section. We had a good tour and it is definitely not too big a place to start off with in the morning.

We went to a cafe near Notre Dame for expensive cappuccino:

Somehow, expensive cappuccinos taste better. Anyway, after our cappuccino, we headed towards our second destination of the day, The Louvre, but not before going on a long walk and taking lots of pictures:

It was so cold but it was all worth it. We reached The Louvre and it was so beautiful:

Yes, guess again.

That was taken in one of the pyramids. It cost €9 to go into the museum and with so much to see, I think €9 is more than fair.

After a long tour in The Louvre, we decided to have a late lunch at the cafe. It was bread and cappuccino for me, and bread and wine for the lucky boy.

Gifts from my little babes

2009_01_20_present_from_009.JPG

They told me to meet them at the school car-park, and when I was there, they passed me a white card and a striped-pink gift-bag. Such nice words from them written on the card, and there is a picture of me and a picture of them printed and pasted on the card. The gift is a My Melody cushion with back-rest, with her head as the back-rest and her body as the cushion. One of them laughed and said that from now on, I do not have to sit on the towel in my car. HAHA! They peeped into my car!

At times like this, I feel like I have done something good with my life.

Dinner with Lovies

The above pictures were taken in November last year! I just got them transferred to my computer from my handphone, and yes, I am that slow. We had a little birthday celebration for one of our close friends. The following pictures were taken last evening. Dinner was at Chijmes’ Sun with Moon. I love their salmon belly and fried prawns appetizers! We had Beef Sukiyaki for our main.

That night I realized something…

Friday, January 16th, 2009

I did not know the way to the nearest expressway. Kind Soul offered to lead me. It was late. Nobody else cared if I knew how to get home. Exit required a card, which I only realized, when my Black was a few metres to Exit, that I had forgotten to collect one. Panic, sobs, nobody could understand how I felt. Kind Soul was waiting for me just after Exit. I saw his Blue stopped on the slope but I could not signal to him to let him know of my situation. I would not blame him if he had left without me. I hoped with all my might that he stayed. I did not know the way to the nearest expressway. If my Black was still in the parking lot, I would have tried to use a map but my Black was near Exit. I was not sure if I could stop anywhere after Exit to use a map. From where I was, I could not turn back to a parking lot. Then first, I had to walk back to the lift and go to some place to collect the card. I was not even sure if they still had any card left but I had no choice. I had to try.

I felt like crying. That night I realized that I was all alone.

In Paris with my little famous - Day 1

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

We flew to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport a few days earlier and from Rotterdam, we took a Thalys train to Paris. I took these pictures while we were on the train:

2008_paris_002.jpg

The train journey was about 3 hours and we were so glad when we could finally alight at Paris Gare Du Nord Station:

2008_paris_005.jpg

We had to take a Paris train from where we were, Paris Gare Du Nord Station, to our hotel, which is near La Tour-Maubourg Station. Then, we did not know that there is a station just next to our hotel, we alighted a station earlier at Invalides. We had to walk a bit more to our hotel but the walk was beautiful:

2008_paris_007.jpg

2008_paris_008.jpg

We stayed at Hotel Latour-Maubourg which looks like a boutique hotel:

2008_paris_012.jpg

Each room has been designed differently. We had a green room and I liked our room. I did not particularly like our green bathtub though because it looked strange to me. It still looks strange to me:

2008_paris_013.jpg

After we checked into our room, we left our things there and went out for a walk. We headed towards the famous Arc de Triomphe. On our way there, we took many nice pictures:

There was a food-fair going on. We could smell waffles in the air and then suddenly, we just could not take it anymore and bought two waffles, one for each of us, from one of the tent-shops. Each waffle cost €2.50, and there was nothing in the waffles except sugar flakes. I find that pretty expensive but welcome to Paris.

Hurray! We reached our first destination, Arc de Triomph!

2008_paris_030.jpg

2008_paris_031.jpg

We had to pay €9 to go up, and guess what? There was no lift and we had to climb at least a hundred steps on the spiral staircase to reach the top. The climb was fun for the first 10 seconds and thereafter, it was a torture:

2008_paris_032.jpg

2008_paris_033.jpg

The view from the top was so cool. Everything we saw from there was so neat and symmetrical:

We spent about an hour up there and when it was starting to get dark, we decided to call it a day and headed back to our hotel. On the way back, we walked past Eiffel Tower! It was blue in the dark! We stopped by and took more pictures.

2008_paris_045.jpg

We had dinner at a restaurant near our hotel. I had salmon and I forgot what my little famous had:

Can someone tell me why, when I google on my own full name, my bloglink continues to appear as the first hit?! I think it started a few weeks ago when WHJ linked me to his blog via my full name but he has since removed my full name from his blog after I asked him to do so (thanks, WHJ!). However, it does not seem to have changed anything. I even selected the blog option to block search engines, but my bloglink still appears at the first hit when I google on my own name!! Argh!
