The two greatly-missed (ex-)Sanriotown bloggers

Monday, March 31st, 2008

I think my brains are getting smaller with each passing day. Many a time, I open Internet Explorer and stare blanky at msn.com which is the default page. During the first few seconds or even the first few minutes of those times, I just couldnt remember what I was planning to do on the internet. I had to think really hard and sometimes I resolved to reading the news on msn.com.

Anyway, I have been wanting to blog about the two greatly-missed (ex-)Sanriotown bloggers, but all I did was keep forgetting about it.

Some time ago in November 2007, one of our good friends from Sanriotown left Sanriotown! Her nickname is Luty. The last time I checked her blog, her farewell post was still the last post from her. I miss you, Luty! I am sure the rest of Sanriotown miss you too! Tiffy, Steffi, iheartbadtz, shadowcat, Superbong, etc. Wherever you are, Luty, and whatever you are doing, take care and have fun with your new life! You are greatly-missed in Sanriotown!

Next, I am not sure if you have noticed this but KTS seems to be missing from Sanriotown since her last post on 19 Feb 2008. I know 19 Feb 2008 isnt like two centuries ago, but still, it’s KTS that is missing. KTS never stayed away for so long! I hope she is fine, and I really hope to hear from her soon. KTS, you are the second greatly-missed person in Sanriotown!

Dont you feel sad when someone is no longer around to keep you updated on his or her life, assuming that that someone is not some ex-partner of yours whom you really want to get rid of?

One ex-student drew this for me on MSN. A male student!! Sigh, they can be soooo cute. Ten weeks of school holiday and I miss them!! Another ex-student wrote this on my Facebook’s Wall:

“…you like purple right? there was once my friend from another class you were facilitating told me you wore purple, had purple nails and all. very purplish…”

HAHAHA! How not to like them?

First overnight stay in school!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

It is 4 AM now and oh, I so miss my beloved bed at home. I bet my room is dark and windy now, and my pillow is missing her little depression and feeling very lonely.

For some unknown reason, I had volunteered to help out with a student camp by staying overnight in school. Up to now, everything is going pretty well and everybody seems nice to me. My colleagues are superb people, really. There are only three of us staying overnight in school for this camp; one of them bought me chips, and the other one offered his only sleeping bag to me because I dont have one. I am so touched by these people.

Of course, if I have a choice, I would rather be somewhere else, like home or Paris, but everything seems good up to now, what’s with 6 AM nearing and my hot plan to get McDonald’s breakfast in about 2 hours’ time getting more feasible! Woots.

And what is a post without pictures? Since I am in school right now, I will use this opportunity to introduce to you, my school!

My new hotsy, ANNA SUI!

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

anna_sui_cosmetics.jpg

Anna Sui is an American fashion designer. She was born in Michigan, USA, and grew up there. Since young, she had wanted to be a fashion designer and had started living her dreams by dressing up her dolls and her neighbour’s toy soldiers. During her senior year in high school, she received a scholarship to attend Parson’s School of Design in New York.

After graduation, Anna Sui worked for several sportswear companies. In 1991, she had her first runway show. She paid Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista in clothing to catwalk in her signature style. In 1992, she opened her first clothing boutique in New York City. The shop has purple walls and red floors! In 1997, she opened her first store in Tokyo and in the same year, she opened her second store in Osaka. Soon after, she opened stores in other parts of Japan. In 1998, she opened a boutique in Los Angeles. Subsequently, Anna Sui boutiques and stores appeared in many parts of East Asia and Western Europe.

In 1999, Anna Sui launched her signature fragrance and cosmetics.

I hope I am not boring you (and especially to WHJ, I know this is not as interesting as Gashapons and pvcs (by the way, what is pvcs?), I will talk about you in kimono some other time, ok?). I have never really liked a fragrance and cosmetics brand until Anna Sui. For one, Anna Sui’s eye glitter actually smells very nice. I have had lousy experience with yucksies-smell cosmetics, and it’s worse when it’s a lipstick! I once had a lipstick that smelt like Nippon paint. Yucksies.

Oh, I love these cutesies:

Not that I have any of these. I just find them cute!

Actually, I think it is quite scary to have a Dolly Girl in your bedroom. Especially when it’s dark outside and you think you are the only one in your bedroom. With those eyes staring at you, you dont know what is real and what is not anymore. And before you know it, it starts to inch towards you, eyes never leaving you…

I think that is why I dont have a Dolly Girl!!

Sceneries in and around Kajane

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

These pictures were taken in Kajane. The first one is my favourite outdoor picture. Such nice greens!

This house is part of Kajane. It is different from the villas. We were wondering if this is the house of the owner of Kajane.

This is the lobby house. It is quite some distance from the entrance of Kajane, and the Kajane cafe is situated between the entrance of Kajane and the lobby house. Dont you find that strange?

This is the pathway we had to use to get to our villa. They were doing something to part of the pathway. It was kind of scary for me because the pathway seemed to be on some kind of a cliff and we had to walk on the edge.

These pictures were taken along the streets outside Kajane. The streets were nice and quiet streets, but the weather was very hot.

This is a temple. There is a posh restaurant beside the temple. We had dinner there.

Chronological order, anyone?

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

After reading a book, especially a mystery book that takes you forward and backward in time, do you sometimes feel like re-writing the happenings in chronological order? I just read the whole book of Sandra Brown’s The Witness, and man, she’s really good at telling more than one story at a time. Different stories that involve the same characters but occur at different phases of their lives, are being told in consecutive chapters, and at each critical point, some mysterious gaps are being filled. While some unknown questions are being answered, more mysterious gaps are formed.

It’s really addictive and I gave myself at most 10 pages per day for reading, just to ensure that I dont forget to eat. This is yet one of the finest Sandra Brown book I have read. :)

sophie_kinsella_remember_me.JPGDid I mention that I bought Sophie Kinsella’s new book? Sophie Kinsella is the author of the shopaholic series, which I am a big fan. I was and still am, more often than not, entertained by her nonsensical humour, and her ultimate negativity in life. She was my medicine to boring evenings but at times when I was feeling serious (yes, that happened before) or just plain upset about something, I had to put her book away. So, as I was saying, she just released her new book, titled “Remember Me?”. I am just starting to read it and enjoying each moment of it. :)

Kajane@Ubud, our very own villa!

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Ubud is a town in Bali. After we left the town of Tuban, we went to Ubud and stayed in Kajane Mua Villa for four days. We had our own villa and a swimming pool. Coolx.

Doesnt this picture remind you of one of the pictures from here? I remembered the angle at which the photograph was taken, but I couldnt get the brightness, contrast, and what have you, right.

More pictures of the villa, taken by me:

If you have not noticed, I found a new best friend there. My very own floatie~ The pool is 1.5 metres flat in depth and I am 1.63 metres so thanks to floatie~ I had a very entertained time in the pool just floating around. Floatie~ belongs to Kajane and was mine for those days I was there.

bali_24.JPG

Awww. Arent we a loving pair? I miss you, floatie~. I wish I could take you back with me. And the swimming pool too. I like it that they use more salt and less chlorine in their pool water. My skin and hair were really good after the swims. I mean, floats.

JUST a few thousand steps away from our villa, is the Kajane’s cafe.
