The Night Safari
Talk about the world’s first noctural zoo and we have the Night Safari. It is only open at night and the animals are made visible by lighting that is brighter than moonlight but dim enough not to disturb the noctural behaviours of the animals.
The animals of the Night Safari come from South America and other parts of Asia. They are not caged but rather, they are placed in enclosures which are supposed to simulate their native habitat. The animals are separated from visitors by natural barriers like grille metal sheets with wide gaps.
I was there a few nights ago and it was my very first time there. I love the cool breeze, the absence of sunlight and the quietness of the place. As it was dark and flash from cameras is not allowed, I did not take pictures of anything except for this cute little…

Cool right?!
The giraffes look so cute!
But I am surprised that our giraffes arent that tall. I wonder why. Even in the souvenir shop, the toy giraffes are of the same height as horses and zerbras. What is this manz.
Doesnt the zebra in the picture I have look fake?

Hey, that sounds like fun! What kind of animals did you encounter that night? I’ve been to a “day time” safari before, and even then, it was a bit difficult to spot the animals, since they sometimes blend into their environment quite well.

Marvinm! I saw giraffes (my favourites!), zebras, elephants, deers, rhinos and maybe one or two other kinds of animals. It was really hard to spot some of them in the dark and to worsen the situation, they dont move a lot! Those that I have named are the easy-to-spot kinds. Too tall, too white, too big, too thin, too smelly, etc. HaHa.
Thanks for linking my post to yours. I like your giraffes too.
