Can’t Get Enough of Brawl

Super Smash Brothers Brawl is….

THE GREATEST FIGHTING GAME OF ALL TIME

Tekken?

NAH.

Street Fighter?

NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Dead or Alive?

PLEASE.

Marvel vs. Capcom?

MEH.

This game let’s video-game powerhouses like Sonic, Snake and Mario duke it out for multiplayer glory.

‘Nuff said.

In the game, there’s a thing called a "Final Smash", where your character let’s it all out in a glorious, fiery, sparkly, hair-billowing attack.

GG

See if you could spot other video game classics.

Coheed and Rock Band

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Check out this awesome clip I found:

Yep, Coheed and Cambria got featured on G4TV. Anyway, when I first heard of Harmonix developing Rock Band (where you and your friends get to play the full ensemble to capture that whole rock-bandy feel), I quickly assumed that this game would spawn a whole army of drummers, considering Guitar Hero birthed a whole nation of air-guitarists.

Aaaanywhooo

Kevin Pereira, host of Attack of the Show, has this crazy notion that playing Rock Band actually improves one’s non-existent drumming skills and to prove that, he decides to jam with the most amazing band evah, Coheed & Cambria.

For the record, I seriously don’t think that our boy Kevin here isn’t a first time drummer. He pretty much owned those drum fills. I find it funny the he asked Chris (Co & Ca’s current drummer) how he felt about 12 year olds being able to play his song on drums. Problem is, Chris wasn’t in the band when Welcome Home came out and compared to the stuff he actually writes (he used to play for Dillinger Escape Plan), he probably thinks a 12 year old could easily play it.

LOL

OWNED.

An Image of Perfection

Anyone here play Starcraft? Raise your hands please.

One… two… three… four hundred… wow a lot

Anyway, you must be familiar with the concept of the rush, right? For the uninitiated, a rush is to crank up as much units as you can and march ‘em off to the enemies base in the shortest amount of time possible.

This, however, is a stroke of genius: An SCV rush that can only be pulled off by the best Terran player in the galaxy: the Korean named Boxer.

GG. That’s probably the ballsiest play in Starcraft history.

I can’t wait for Starcraft 2.

The Rock Out Returneth

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

First off, to my loyal fans, I apologize for my absence. The loss of noise and musical intensity that made these bloghalls ever so bland and mundane is the result of me plowing through a huge, HUUUUUGE project at work.

Man, that was a hard sentence.

Aaaaaannnnywhooo. What have you guys been up to?

It’s been a rough two weeks with work and all but ironically, this has been one of the best ever. Weird but true.

Hmmm what can I possibly offer to appease my hardcore fans?

I know!

How about a game recommendation? This game, coupled with two other forms of anchorage, kept me sane these past 2 weeks:

I’m a huge RPG nutbag but the whole formula of hero, slay monsters using uninspired battle system, farm, farm, farm, loot, craft, farm, random encounters… ISSSS getting a little too stale for my taste.

In comes Puzzle Quest, a unique puzzle-rpg hybrid that totally blurs the line between genres. The story is simple: A huge bad-boy by the name of Lord Bane is threatening the land of Etheria and you, the ever-so-gullible hero, set out to gather allies, forge weapons, train epic mounts to reach that climactic Washowski-ly epic final battle.

GET IT! GET IT!

Saying "No Fair!" and Mean It.

Friday, December 7th, 2007

I love playing Guitar Hero, especially it’s latest helping of hot, rock-out love, Guitar Hero 3. The game’s last song, Dragonforce’s Through The Fire and Flames is enough to give you carpal tunnel for 2 years… and that’s just playing it on MEDIUM. Meet Conrad, some dude from the States. He played TTFF on expert, survived in style and HAS proof to back-up such an achievement. Check it out:

IT’S

NOT

FAIR

Well, at least I CAN DO THAT ON A REAL GUITAR.

I lie…

Gaming in 2008

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

I think video games are the best invention since the Lazy Boy and I am a fierce believer that some day, dorks WILL rule the land. So anyway, 2008 has been a fantastic year for the video game industry with entries such as Crysis, Super Mario Galaxy, Call of Duty 4, and Halo 3. However, 2008 will be MUCH more of a groundbreaking year for games. Here are my hotly anticipated games that I can’t wait to get my little, grubby dork fingers on. Mwahahahahha

1. Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Nintendo’s version of a fighting game, SSBB features memorable video game characters and gives players a chance to duke it out and see fantasy matches. Ever wondered who would win in a match between Mario and Sonic? Link and Snake? The possibilites are endless.

2. Fallout 3

Any self-respecting gamer knows the whole Fallout series and has at least played Fallout 1 and/or 2. After 7 or so years, we get another chance to return to the Wasteland.

Be ashamed if you don’t know this.

3. Starcraft 2

After 8 years, we FINALLY have Starcraft 2. Although it doesn’t release until October 2008, I cannot wait to see what Blizzard has done to up the ante with a second dose of this amazing strategy game. Terrans FTW!

With that said, I have realized that I am descending into deeper levels of dorkhood….

and I LOVE IT.
