I must admit, as far as the Marvel vs. DC war, I’m pretty much sold on Marvel. Why? First, their heroes are more “believable”, they’re more grounded and pound-for-pound, they’re a lot more original. DC heroes are all alien and super powerful and ALIEN. argh. I’m human! I want human (or mutant) heroes! Anyway, I stumbled upon this site which is basically a tribute to the great works of Stan Lee and the whole of Marvel Comics. Recreating their glory in canvas, toys or whatever medium they please.

Went out this morning to hunt for a stray cat. Caught one. Named her Luminara. Anyway, I got a piece of toast, buttered it up (Dairy Creme is <3) and stuck it to Luminara’s behind. Of course, she didn’t approve and struggled a bit. Got up to the roof, a fidgety buttery toasted Luminara in hand. Breathed in deep, and threw her out. I was expecting a spinning, gravity-defying combination of feline and a breakfast treat but instead, she ungloriously fell. The cat landed on her feet though, the toast was ruined though.

Wow, I’ve been posting a lot of people who cover  the past week and all I can say to my faithful readers (population: 4) is… I’m sorry.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Anywho, last week was pretty much a blur to me… well kind of a VIVID blur… as senseless as that sounds, it was. Mwahahahaha!

Okay, I must return to the true essence of The Rock Out and that is… the music. Music that sends tsunamis of good vibes up your spine. Music that will make you cry. Lastly, The Rock Out is about immersing you in amazing music until you drown…

I’m just feeling a bit sorry for the drummer because he used to be playing for The Dillinger Escape Plan, a.k.a. The World’s Most Dangerous Band. I’m not saying that Coheed & Cambria’s skill level are beneath Dillinger Escape Plan’s… they’re two different musical styles - both awesome though.

A friend of mine, Celyn, buzzed me in ym last night. She told me that pictures of Coheed & Cambria’s gig in Paris was already uploaded on her Multiply page.

I froze.

“You… watched Co&Ca live? In Paris?”

And with the grace and finality of a butcher knife finding its mark, I blurted out…

“I hate you.”

She laughed. Of course, I didn’t mean it like that. She was already living in Paris then. She didn’t GO to Paris just to watch Co&Ca (I would, for all its worth).

If you’ve read my previous post about covers, you’ll know that if you really want to cover a song, especially from a great band, you MUST give it justice.

Also, if you’ve read my other post about drummers, you’ll know that I have a deep, deep, so deep that Cousteau would shy away from the thought of its depth, admiration for drummers.

Anyway, was idly skimming through youtube when I discovered Cobus… probably the greatest drummer that ever lived. Yep, well…. not the greatest… but he’s up THERE *points up*

First, this is Fort Minor’s Believe Me. I’m not too excited about the band per se, but the whole hip-hop sound is… swish. (I’ll get more into my whole hip-hop phase more tomorrow I guess).

I have a deep, PROFOUND appreciation for how much originality and depth these guys brought to the music landscape. Obviously, a lot of people share the same sentiments and would give tribute to the band by covering their songs and try their best to give it justice.

And JUSTICE was SERVED.
