Hey guys.  I heard a few days ago that my friend kel and (I think) her friend were in a rear end accident.  Fortunately, both of them were wearing their seatbelts, so they didn’t suffer any major injuries.  Thank goodness.  ^_^  I hope you guys are doing all right.

All of this reminded me of how I ended up starting to wear seatbelts when I’m driving/riding in a car.   It all started with a few interesting Public Service Announcements (PSAs) starring a couple of funny dummies named Vince and Larry.  Well, in the hope of encouraging more people to use their seatbelts, here are a few of the PSAs starring the duo I found on YouTube.

[NOTE:  They were played during Saturday Morning Cartoon blocks that I used to watch when I was a kid, so I think they should be ok to put on here. Sorry if they’re not.]

And yes, Larry (the blue dummy) was voiced by the guy who used to voice Garfield the cat (Lorenzo Music) until he passed away.  He shall be missed. T_T

Garfield the Cat

I think that’s one reason why I don’t see these PSAs anymore.  Kinda sad too ’cause they helped me wear my seatbelt.

Well I hope nobody’s offended by these videos.  I just wanted to spread the word that seatbelts can help save lives.  Like kel and her friend.  ^_^

So like they say..

YOU COULD LEARN A LOT FROM A DUMMY.

BUCKLE YOUR SAFETY BELT.

[And no kel.  Neither you nor your friend are dummies ’cause you guys DID wear your seatbelts.   *gives thumbs up* ^_^]

EDIT NOTE:  Earlier, I mentioned on this post that Kel’s friend was her husband.  But she let me know that he wasn’t, so I changed the information to say that he was her friend.  Sorry for the mistake, Kel.  *sweatdrops* But thanks for visiting my blog.  ^_^
