I was watching television last night, I got to see this Japanese artist who has a wild imagination. Saka is one of the artist who has a talent for creating paper animation.  Paper animation is like origami but with a twist. I was really amazed on how he managed to create something so cute and fun.

Here are just some samples of paper animation. Visit the site: http://www.paperanimations.com

This for instance is a flying pig. Quite interesting.

This art work is called “Hesitation” which is ironic and funny at the same time.

This one is called “Maternal Dilemma” and you can see why.

  Teeter Totter by Saka.

You can purchase these products at his site or you can try to download the instructions and try to build one yourself at this website from Canon:

  1. “Flying Pig”: That’s something new, and the “Maternal Dilemma” is so funny !!!

  2. i love the images… especially the Hesitation one… it demonstrates a lot of hesitation and risk one person has to go through in life.

  3. I totally agree with you (”,)

  4. This is really neat, and all out of paper? They would make some nice food decorations using edible paper perhaps?

  5. This is cool! I like the teeter totter dancing robot. Looks like the dancing baby from ally mcbeal.

I think the flying pig is suppose to mean a time something impossible happens…

  6. Thanks for the lovely comments. Yup, every thing is made out of paper. Would you like to give it a try on creating you’re on paper animation? (”,)
