So this post is a little bit late in coming, but better late than never.  A couple weeks ago was the obon holiday and so like nearly everyone else in Japan we decided to take a road trip.

We went to Izu in Shizuoka prefecture and had a super fun family trip to the beach.  I didn’t get to do a whole lot of playing because of my gigantic tummy, but Yosei had an awesome time playing in the waves.  He had so much fun that even when his lips started to turn blue from being in the water too long we couldn’t keep him out of there for more than a few minutes :) 

After a long day at the beach we stayed the night in a minshiku, which is a Japanese style bed and breakfast (though this one didn’t serve us any food as we didn’t make reservations beforehand).

And finally on our way home we stopped at the Atagawa Banana and Alligator Park (isn’t that a great name?)   

It was a great trip and I can’t wait until next year’s vacation
