I drove my parents to Tiendesitas to watch the Chihuahua Federation of the Philippines’ all breed dog show. Today was the Toy Group Class and some big dogs like the Golden Retriever, Afghan Hound, and Labrador (if I’m not mistaken). This will continue until tomorrow with the Working Dogs Class and some more big dogs like the Doberman, German Shepherd, and such. We spent the whole day there. Here are some pictures of the event:

She may be older by a month, but she’s not as proud as my Yorkie. I better let them train my dog, and maybe next time we’ll beat this little Yorkie! Go Sophie! (my Yorkie) ^^

Arabian…I mean, Afghan Hounds in their customized tents.

Chihuahua that costs $1500 or around 75,000 pesos. She won! 10 points shy of becoming a Champion.

Kids can do what grown-ups can. Boy from Cebu handles dogs.

Last but definitely not the least. Philippine Hall of Fame, Philippine Grand Champion, American Champion and Canadian Champion Ricardo (Shih Tzu) that costs a staggering 1.2 Million pesos or approximately $24,000 of the Tan’s, and handled by Penny Cham.

HaHaHa! My friend’s Shih Tzu has been suffering from the humid weather here for many years. It is now almost hairless and most part of its skin is always reddish from constant scratching. I feel so sorry for the dog.
I guess some Shih Tzu are really lucky…
June 7th, 2007 at 5:44 pm
Yeah! That happens, so the solution there is to have your friend’s dog in an air conditioned or a fan room… ^_^
Or at least that’s what my mom did before.. o.o
June 7th, 2007 at 9:46 pm
Yeah, but she couldnt really afford to leave the dog in an air conditioned room most of the time. I heard huskies also suffer if the weather is not cold enough.
June 7th, 2007 at 10:19 pm
True. That would be expensive.. hehe

I had to get my shih tzu the puppy or summer cut to help him cope with the hot weather. He was a bit “shy” after the cut, but then really enjoyed having the short hair and is more active. It only takes a few weeks for the hair to grow back anyway.

marvinm: cool! you have a shih tzu! ^^
