I’m an Earth Snake, according to this.

I’m not typically a superstitious person, paranoid - yes, but not always superstitious. Since CNY came around, I’ve been fairly interested in Chinese astrology and it continues to surprise me how accurate these are. By ‘these’, I mean quizzes and just all that stuff where rationalists can easily deny their authenticity. If you really take the time to read certain things (the ones that actually do seem realistic, not teenybopper crap), it’s really fascinating.

I read the Wiki article on the Snake and it’s almost all true. Seriously. I’ve always wanted to be a diplomat or at least, an ambassador - it’s what I want to do; I want to change the world.

The parts that didn’t work out were how Snakes are meant to be on stage - I have horrible stage fright. And I’m not pretty, haha - which apparently Snakes are.

“The only sign that can possibly overcome the snake is the mythical sign of the Dragon with its superhuman benevolence and love.

I found that hilarious. My boss and best friend is an Earth Dragon and it’s an inside joke amongst us and our co-workers that we’re a married couple. And he happens to be the only one that can ‘control’ me.

“The Dragon is most compatible with the Rat, Monkey, Snake and Rooster.

Lul.  Oh boy. So what’s your sign? x)

Edit: HOORAY FOR HAPPY HEARTS! See everyone back in HKO in February!

And remember the woman who gave birth to the octuplets? Apparently, she has 6 other kids under the same roof too. So count ‘em - that’s 14 KIDS. >_> Holy poop.

He is the cutest little thing ever.

Though I’m sure Starrfire7 would argue against that and say Kiki & Lala are better. ;P BUT nevertheless, Pochacco is my favorite character ever. LTS are cute too, but nothing stands between me and the dog.

The HKO and HKO Events blogs updated today with the most adorable theme ever. I WANT IT. D: But I can’t find it! *huffs* >:l

It’s seriously perfect. In the past, I have said that I don’t like any of the previous themes they’ve come up with that much. They’re all still cute, but it was never perfect and I always wanted a Pochacco one. I don’t know if anyone noticed (though it’s quite obv), but there’s a fading effect where anything that loads, fades into view. This one is just so awesome in every way.

Hooray for Pochacco!

Edit: Just discovered that every time you refresh or go to the blogs, the character at the top rotates between Badtz-Maru, Pochacco, HK, and a human girl with an HK hat (like the one in HKO). HK looks so pretty!

Well, at least the .com extension did. I was partially curious to see what Google would put up in honor of Chinese New Year - you know, where they change the logo to something special for the occasion.

.com:

.co.uk:

… I don’t get it.

Edit: 8 hours later, I was on my iPod in class and I went to Google. The page on Safari showed a CNY-logo’d Google page, but not on my laptop’s Firefox. >.> And I already cleared my cache/cookies.

Anyway, a woman today in Bellflower’s Kaiser Permanente  delivered 8 babies with a team of 46 doctors. All babies were born 9 weeks premature (which is normal for multiple births) and there are 6 boys, 2 girls. Doing a c-section birth, the woman had been carrying a combined weight of 24 lbs (women usually carry only 1-3 lbs per child I think) for all 8. That’s crazyyy. Also happens to be only the second case of live-born octuplets delivered in the history of the US.

Or Tết, depending on which ethnicity you are. Granted, it technically isn’t until tomorrow (the 26th).

I celebrate the latter, but it’s basically the same thing. Went to my aunt’s Saturday and received a fair few lucky red envelopes. With the economy doing so poorly, I was surprised (and my parents, who were none-too-excited) that my aunt threw this party.

Anyway, new blog layout up with the lovely Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel and hearts galore - just in time for Valentine’s. I’m not too thrilled with either layouts, but meh, s’okay.

I recently finished reading The Lovely Bones (movie coming out on Dec. 11, 2009) and it was really good - my first book in ages, honestly because I’m a sorely picky person. I don’t have much to say on it, but it was very deep and meaningful. A young girl of 14 is murdered and the story goes on to tell about how her grief-stricken family falls apart as a result. Through her eyes, readers experience the girl’s own personal thoughts and observations (in her own heaven) as she watches her family and friends try to move on without her.

Anddddd… Someone needs to ban me from eBay. Seriously. ;x

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

- Ghandi

Because of this wonderful video, I am truly and wholly: inspired, hopeful, and optimistic for the future.

The Presidential Pledge

What do you pledge?

Yeah, I had to look at a map to realize it was, in fact, two oceans and not one.

England or Australia?

I would love to travel and those two countries are the ones I want to go to the mostest. Sights, shopping, friends - both are lovely as well. So I’m planning ahead for when I can go to one to study abroad. I’ve been leaning towards AU a lot since one of my bffs lives there, but *shrug*

And GAH @ Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle Chapter 210. RIP Clone!Syao. ♥ ):

And YAY FOR OSCAR NOMSSS.

My friend’s parents brought him and his brother these cookies from work:

The 44th President of the United States of America.

At 12:05 PM EST, he made history.

Change has come.

I got a little dizzy from this. @.@ But enjoy! And if you focus on one spot, the moving will stop. :P

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Couldn’t ask for a truer holiday right before the momentous inauguration of soon-to-be President Obama. It’s history in the making tomorrow.

Watching? I sure am.

Bad days lie ahead.

I’m generally one of those annoyingly cheerful optimists, but when your mother lectures you to death about the real world - life really stinks.

Larry (the laptop) is somewhat broken once again - for the 7th time. Makes me wonder when I’ll get the courage to yell at Dell for a actual new one, rather than a refurbished replacement. :/

Yesterday, though, I went to McDonald’s to get food for my sisters and the guy in the pick-up window asked for my number, lul. That was random and made me laugh. :’)

Anyway, HKOHKOHKO *fingers crossed* @Zel: You reply slow for an alien. I thought aliens were supposed to be technologically superior. ;P
