Week 29: Double the F-U-N

July 8th, 2010 by starsong:mymelody.com

Going to possibly see Despicable Me this weekend. If I don’t, this picture will disappear for next week. x)

The 2010 FIFA World Cup ends this weekend and I could not be any more sadder. It’s been my life the last month and I will sorely miss it. It’s been crazy intense and ridiculously topsy-turvy. GO ORANJE!

I would’ve looked up a nice picture of the Dutch, but I’m lazy atm. Should be an awesome game and I can’t freaking wait!

Week 28: And the dream ends..

July 2nd, 2010 by starsong:mymelody.com

The U.S. was pretty awesome this year. Considering I only just became a fan during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, that’s probably not saying much, but regardless.. Barring the ridiculousness of the referees - which, by the way, how the hell did we always end up with crappy ones every game? and some mistakes on the U.S. part, it was gonna be tough against Ghana. They were hardcore and we were going to run out of the ‘magic dust’ eventually, as one announcer called it.

Comebacks can’t save you every time and it was just the end of the road for us. In any case, I’m so incredibly proud of our team and hopefully, this means better recognition and respect for real football in the U.S. (Not our lame American version that doesn’t serve dirt.)

Week 27

June 24th, 2010 by starsong:mymelody.com

This may be the first time in a loooong while that I’m doing this on time.

Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, CA. My new second home for 8 more weeks as I have a summer internship here.

In other news, EUROPEAN COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD CUP. What on earth has happened in 4 years?! England, France, Italy - the big Euro players in football and good lord. The world champs and 2nd-placers are out already! And in embarrassing ways too.. Oi. Only Germany has stayed through and that’s quite sad. In any case, U.S.’s dumb luck should run out soon.. >_>

Still looking for a World Cup U.S. away jersey though ): Sold out and expensive!

Week 26: Back to the toys you grew up with..

June 17th, 2010 by starsong:mymelody.com

I’m 99.99% positive that this Pixar movie is the most long-awaited sequel of, like, ALL older-generation movies. Coming out in 1995 and basically the one that started it all for the brilliance that is Pixar, Toy Story is pretty much the epitome of your childhood, if not one of the long-standing landmarks of it.

I’m actually writing this entry late even though it’s dated correctly - I saw it on Saturday with the bf and it was incredibly sweet and funny and a bunch of other adjs, just like the original. Pixar is one of those rare and special companies that keep flushing out the very best in movies and even better than that is when you can keep coming up with brilliant sequels - because let’s face it, most of the time, the originals end up being better than its sequels.

The original is really what starts the magic. I ended up crying at the end of Toy Story 3 - which as it were and unsurprisingly, so did a lot of other people.

So go to infinity and beyond with TS3 because Pixar truly never ceases to be unimaginably amazing. ♥

Week 24: FREEDOM!

June 11th, 2010 by starsong:mymelody.com

RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED FOR THE WORLD CUP. Oh my gosh. US vs England on Saturday?! It’s gonna be so epic.

I just finished finals on Monday so I’ve pretty much been looong done ahead of everyone else. Yay for summertime!

Week 23

Week 22

May 28th, 2010 by starsong:mymelody.com

Hmm, dreaming of when this spring quarter will FINALLY over. I’m half-ready to just pass out for a year.

Week 21

May 21st, 2010 by starsong:mymelody.com

True story. I’ve been studying/working my behind off for school for the last few weeks and still 3 more weeks til summer. Le sigh.

Week 20: Be Happy

May 14th, 2010 by starsong:mymelody.com

Be. Happy.

I just finished this week’s pre-finale episode of (my FAVORITE show) Grey’s Anatomy, appropriately entitled “Shiny Happy People.” And I started thinking about my life in the last few weeks. I’ve been stressed out beyond words. It led me to a fairly depressing conversation I had with my friend a few months ago..

All our lives we (she and I) live for people. You go to school because you have to, you apply & attend college because your parents, you do lots of things that are mostly for people. Or that’s just me. I’ve never really done anything for myself and I can’t remember the last time I was 100% happy. Just happy.

It’s not my motto, but it’s something that I’m looking at differently now. “Be Happy.” Live for yourself. Don’t let others tell you what to do. Don’t do stupid things, but you know. Be happy.

Week 19

May 7th, 2010 by starsong:mymelody.com

I feel like these last few weeks have been the longest of my life. I’ve been stressed out to the max, in so many ways; it’s exhausting - emotionally, physically, mentally.
