SINGAPORE - Oriented Games, the online video game publisher that holds the rights for Hello Kitty Online for Singapore and Malaysia, has appointed Red Dawn Communications as its PR agency in the city-state on a retainer basis.

Hello Kitty Online combines online role-playing games with social networking. The free-to-play game will launch in Malaysia and Singapore in July 2009 on the gloot.net game portal.

The multiplayer online game title seeks to position itself as a media platform for advertisers and marketers to offer in-game advertising.

I went to gloot.net to find out that there will be a “founder’s beta of Hello Kitty Online Singapore and Malaysia Edition”

Not sure what this means but I really hope that I will get to play with the many MANY good friends I have made since CB and FB again.

I want to play in the local FB but I know it will not be the same without the gang

Hopefully you will still be able to play with the rest of us Im guessing it will be like the open part of Valentines day (?) event, which was not open to NEW accounts from Europe, but founders could still log in regardless of whether they lived in Europe or not.

The Singapore game will be for NEW singapore players….thats what I think anyway

I hope it will be like other games where you simply have different servers and you can choose which one to play on.

I don’t wish to criticize them, but it seems like an odd rollout. They’re targetting fairly small individual markets (ID, SG / MY, PH), where I would consider it better to have a wider launch (SEA, EU). That seems to be the models most other free-to-play games take. Course, I’m not a businessman, and if I were, I’d probably be broke, pfft

Kiui - WOW, long time no see! Sigh … I really don’t know how’s its going to be. Guess its a waiting game.

Tidesong - I hope so, but then if there is an international server, would ppl still want to play on the local ones?

azog - Sigh, ya, its just weird having different areas start at different times. The thing I liked most about the game was being able to interact with players from all over the world. If I am stuck with only SGP/MYS players …. No offense to SGP/MYS players.
