I’ve been a fan of the adventures of Tintin for as long as I can remember. It’s Indiana Jones meets 007 with more than just a hint of the Three Stooges (by way of Haddock and the Thompson twins). Both the comic books and the animated series of Tintin (both of them undeniably French) were just plain amazing.
I think I wouldn’t be alone in wondering what it would be like to have a Tintin live-action film. In fact, there have been attempts (Tintin and the Golden Fleece and Tintin and the Blue Oranges). And as far as characters go, they were able to capture the looks pretty well.

Fun fun. But then I caught wind of this, and I can’t just help but squee in glee. Tintin’s being brought [back] to the big screen. By big names, no less: Stephen Spielberg, Peter Jackson, and Stephen Moffat (if you watch Doctor Who, you should know him). Man, I can’t WAIT for 2009.
