Juno

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

I saw the film the other day, and I have nothing but glowing praises for it. As far as teen / coming of age movies are concerned, I tend to regard them with a head full of reservations, since the stories tend to be a little bit lackluster (and by lackluster, I mean absurdly silly). But Juno promised something out of the ordinary, since it was talking about underage teen pregnancy.

Can you say exclamation point?

The Best Trailer in the Galaxy

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Okay, this is an old movie and an equally old book, but I stumbled upon its trailer while going through Youtube, and since I’ve been posting nothing but Iron Man and Speed Racer Trailers lately, I figured that I might as well put this video up as well.

This was the trailer for The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, a gasbag of a movie based on an equally hilarious book by Douglas Adams. The fun thing about the trailer is that it breaks all conventional trailer sensibilities (this also has one of the truest lines I have ever heard: " . . . Trailers normally employ a deep voice that sounds like a seven-foot tall man who has been smoking cigarettes since childhood. . . "

If you haven’t seen this movie, I suggest you head out to your closest video rental store and grab a copy. This film is so filled with goodness that you will most likely burst from so much laughter.

Iron Man Watch

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Hardly two weeks to go before Iron Man airs, and Marvel and Paramount are going all-out in their pre-show promotions via viral marketing on the Interwebs. They’ve released a total of two one-minute clips from the film on the net (which easily found their way to Youtube); thanks to a bunch of friends, I managed to catch the second video which I am now posting here for great justice.

Oh man. Awesome. Just awesome.
