2 weeks ago I tried playing LevelUP Game’s newest MMORPG Hello Kitty Online. This is another project that aims to promote casual gaming through social media interaction. Now that I reached Level 15, I still can’t get enough of Hello Kitty. Normally an Online game’s life span to me is just a week but it seems HKO PH is already becoming a habit to me.

I enjoy the quests specially if it requires me to pound monsters but I just found out that pounding monsters doesn’t give me EXP so most of the time I spend my times harvesting for minerals even without quests. Farming and Tailoring is the most difficult tasks for me since level 1. There is a quest on tailoring that requires me to forge materials 3 times. And mind you, you really need some math skills on counting materials so that you don’t need to waste time travelling back and forth areas to harvest for more and go back again in the town to give the items to the quest giver.

Farming could be fun but it is really very frustrating how the time format in farming is so fast. A day in farming is just a couple of minutes. And it still runs when you go out of the farm. So to prevent my farm from dying, i must visit them regularly and water them. And take note, water is very costly.

So far I’m still hooked up with HKO and and I enjoy traveling and discovering new areas where I’m amazed of the creativity of Design that blends to every Sanrio character.

To those who wants to try the game, here are some helpful tips that will surely give you edge on the world of Hello Kitty Online.

  1. Play the flash tutorial. before you install the game on your PC, there is a flash format version of the HKO game but this game is created for basic training. Here you will learn most of the basic aspects of the game including harvesting, mining, farming etc. Many HKO newbies skip this that is why they end up asking other users how to do this and where to get that. So play the basic training/tutorial to learn things you don’t need to ask.
  2. Read Quest Instructions carefully. When you accept Quests from NPCs (Non-Playable Characters), they will give instructions to what items or tasks they need and where exactly is the area where you can find them. To review the instructions you can access the Quest Log on your sidebar panel or by pressing “Q”.
  3. Save Money. Don’t be a compulsive buyer. Some items are available on merchants but they do really cost a lot so to save. Don’t buy because you will eventually get items and equipments through quests.
  4. Refrain from doing shortcuts. Specially on skill based quests. Some quest items are available on merchants but its better to do the quests according to the instructions because you will loose the chance to level up your skills.
  5. Don’t throw loots. When you harvest or gather materials, you will eventually get some loot items that you don’t need. It piles up on your limited inventory and there is a point that you really need to free spaces. Instead of throwing away loots, sell them to the merchants for some extra kitty Dollars.
  6. And lastly play Nice. Be friendly, we know that Hello Kitty’s brand promotes friendship to everyone. So don’t be harsh to anyone.

Merry Christmas to you all as well!

Oh the cruelty of it all!

September 21st, 2008 by spcga:hellokitty.com

One of the few games it would seem that takes animal safety seriously is Hello Kitty Online! All of us who love furries and animals and non-violence will find their place in the cutest online game of all time, Hello Kitty MMORPG, the Online home of Hello Kitty.

So I applied to be part of the HKO founders beta of course, but took my sweet time, in part because I was so busy, I mean the graphic below tells you to sign up now doesn’t it?

I did not get my acceptance e-mail like many other blog posts I’ve seen, I guess that means I didn’t get in but I won’t despair! There’s a room for us animal lovers in the future after beta! Someone start an animal lovers guild!

Hello Kitty Online, a safe place for animals?

August 19th, 2008 by spcga:hellokitty.com

You’d think….and then we have a user who calls herself ripplecloud (to rip a cloud?) ambushing starfish!! Safety to animals we say! Starfish can walk?

Why must there be continued violence to the innocent and the pure?

Bigfoot found? The abominable snowman is for real?

August 17th, 2008 by spcga:hellokitty.com

A policeman and a former corrections officer say that on Friday they will unveil evidence of what they claim is their biggest find ever: the body of Bigfoot.

The thawed body of a creature reputed to be Bigfoot reportedly weighs more than 500 pounds.

The thawed body of a creature reputed to be Bigfoot reportedly weighs more than 500 pounds. Stuffing them in a fridge like box, dead or not looks pretty cruel to me!

Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, a pair of Bigfoot-hunting hobbyists from north Georgia, say they found the creature’s body in a wooded area and spotted several similar creatures that were still alive.

The carcass of the furry half-man, half-ape is 7 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs more than 500 pounds, they say. However, the two are not disclosing the exact location of their discovery to protect the remaining creatures.

Tom Nelson, chairman of the biology department at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, said he’s "pretty skeptical" the world will feast its eyes on a new species Friday.

"That would certainly rock mammalogy," joked Nelson, who specializes in the study of mammals. "I see a research grant in my future."

Whitton and Dyer plan to unveil what they say is DNA and photo evidence of the discovery in Palo Alto, California, in conjunction with a group called Searching for Bigfoot Inc.

A photograph on that group’s Web site shows what appears to be the body of a large, hairy creature with an ape-like face, stuffed into a large freezer.

According to a written release, the two announced the discovery on an Internet radio show, "Squatch Detective," several weeks ago. iReport.com: Do you believe in Bigfoot?

"The only person we would allow to come down and verify the body was ‘the Real Bigfoot Hunter,’ Tom Biscardi," Dyer said, referring to Searching for Bigfoot’s CEO, who has been looking for the elusive, legendary creature in the United States and Canada since 1971.

Whitton is a Georgia police officer who is on administrative leave after being shot in the wrist during a pursuit. Dyer is a former prison guard.

DNA tests on the body have begun, said the statement, and "extensive scientific studies" will be done on the body by scientists, including a molecular biologist, an anthropologist and a paleontologist.

Nelson, the university professor, acknowledged that new species of animals have been discovered in recent decades and that, in science, "we always acknowledge the possibility of something new."

But he said that even in north Georgia, home to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the foot of the Appalachian Trail, it stretches the imagination to think a family of 7-foot-tall creatures could have eluded hunters, hikers and creeping development until now.

"To the average person, these places just seem like extreme wilderness where you’ll find lions and tigers and bears," he said. "The reality is that you’re never more than a mile from a road."

The group says the animal is male, has reddish hair and "blackish-gray" eyes and human-like feet, hands and teeth.

Bowling with Bunnies

June 13th, 2007 by spcga:hellokitty.com

Do you see the terrified look on those sweet little rabbids who sit there helplessly as a barrel is thrown to us like a bowling ball to have them fall into the deep depths of the canyon? Do you see the evil look that Rayman has before he throws the helpless little bunnies into hell?

Rabbids have feelings too you know! Unlike the lemmings, they don’t have suicidal tendencies and get no satisfaction, the horrified screams of anguish is evidence enough that the world has become a sick place indeed! Stop the violence!

Watch this Video at your own peril….

We the Flood are good creatures, don’t shoot us please

June 12th, 2007 by spcga:hellokitty.com

A special message from Mr. Paracelsuc Floodus, Chieftain of the Covenant Flood:

We’re known as the Flood but we lose a lot of blood, because the evil Master Chief shoots us like we were thieves.

We’re the really good guys, but since we constantly lose out, history has been rewritten to suit the needs of those UNSC Marines and their evil Master Chief. Dr. Mengele has seen nothing yet with the brutality that the Master Chief sets out to destroy us (as well as those other lesser alien life forms)

Above: Image of the Master Chief shooting at us, we of course need to attack in self defense…

Infact, Captain Keyes wanted to become one of us…see below…looking mighty fine if I may say so (erhm)….

But noooo, he couldn’t be one of us in peace, who comes along and off’s him? The Evil Master Chief.

And the above are our little children, who are being relentlessly shot….you get the picture. Let the world know that we, the flood need not be shot to ridiculous little pieces 10 million times a day! We have feelings too you know!

—- message over and out —-

Editors Note: I usually would focus on the fate of those cute and cuddly creatures, the flood is not your typical cute and cuddly creature but we didn’t want to seem discriminatory, afterall we did say all creatures.
