And yeah I don’t think people should be commemorated like Kenman said. It was just pretty unlucky lol.
But you can’t scold the people who got curious as long as they reported and returned the money. But I agree with you that we shouldnt be commemorated.

Aww, don’t get mad at us. It was confusing. I didn’t know it wasn’t legit, I gave my beetle shells to the person so I wouldn’t be taking it for free. Now I have no beetle shells. At least they have to make money the same as everyone else now..

I wouldn’t say people who took it cheated…they were more likely curious and greedy. Receiving 1 million should have been a clue that something was fishy. Should they be ‘commemorated’ for returning the money? O.o

I took it. BUT I thought he was kidding- then the money was suddenly there!!
I was astounded! So , I went and asked a GM if it was real and legal. I did report it after the GM made it clear to me it wasn’t really legal for that to happen. ( I am only in Founders Beta- so this is all new to me and it is my first MMORPG too.) But I wanted to play honest! So, I aked and then returned it.

I’m just glad this hack was found out before OB. Because this would seriously damage the HKO market/economy and people will be advertising “Gold selling sites”. Now the HKO staff can find the hole in their coding and fix it before the actual OB release.
And it’s like serenitycat says people were curious to see if it was even possible. And we reported it to the GMs or inquired about it.

I didn’t know what I was agreeing to. I was closing trade dialog box but finally I just accepted it thinking it would go away. Next thing I know I had to get rid of 1Mil gold or else “something harsh” would befall me.

Also took it thought they were kidding but did return and went and helped people in harbor for a while. Dont know about being commemerated but just nice to see the amount of honest people that turned it back in.

Luckily this is only open beta, HKO staff can still improve the game.
But during that period, it’s was like real scary….I thought something bad had happen.

Hey, I wasn’t being stupid when I took it… when I first saw LU-006 asking who wants to be a millionare in map chat I was curious, because I had thought something was strange about the names and guild before… so I went over to where he was and watched a few people get something from him and say thanks, and opened a trade myself to make sure… I accepted it mostly because I wanted to be sure that there was actually 100 million being given, since it was possible to add fake #s into trades, and also I knew if millions were being given out they would do a fix or rollback or something and it was already beyond stoppable since he was giving stuff out… The moment after I got the money I PMd GM_Cal about it, then I waited and gave it back to neverender…
I don’t think I should really be commemorated for it, but I don’t think I or anyone else who took it should be scolded or attacked for it either…
Though, I do think there should be a rollback or wipe at the end of this beta either way now… since it’s always possible someone didn’t return it…

Well you can say we were the bait/experimental lab rats to catch the hacker.
If we didn’t see it in action we wouldn’t even know this was possible and we would have no evidence/proof to declare he was hacking. Once evidence was shown most of us reported to the GMs. Since this was pretty abnormal.

Well, not really commemorate, it won’t be anything big. Honestly, I was touched greatly by the great support people gave when I asked them to return the money. Seriously. Sure, it’s bad enough that they got the money in the first place but it takes great courage to step up and own up to what they did. I don’t judge them at all, in fact, I applaud them for returning the money. Anyone could have easily run off with the money but some people returned it.
I’m sorry if I may have blown this whole “commemoration” thing out of proportion. Essentially, I just want people to know that HKO is full of good people.

It was i think 2 days before the beta closed-it was the last time i ever played the game because my mum made me come to a place in the contryside-no internet-while my beloved hko was ending =( I LOVE HKO! This was my first beta test ever and first hko beta too….
