Happy Mother’s Day everyone!
I just wanted to share with everyone, what I did for my mother and family this mother’s day.
In this economy, a lot of people are running low on money and many people don’t even have a job.
I don’t really have money or a job so. I had to find a way to give my mom a present, inexpensively.

First, I picked a flower with a long stem from my neighbor’s garden (with their permission of course).
Then, I went to Safeway to get a small “banquet bag for your convenience”. They’re free and you could find them at most grocery stores that sell flowers.
I cut the “banquet bag” to fit the size of the flower, to make a little bouquet of the one flower I had.
I found some curling ribbon at home (you could use any ribbon) and tied it around the plastic “banquet bag” to make it stay.
It was really cute, and she really liked it. And… I also spent nothing on my present.

I also made her a card out of old magazines and construction paper using a technique called “Iris folding” (although, there really is no folding involved). I discovered this technique through a website called Circle of Crafters. The site teaches you how to make cards out of a shape and strips of paper.
I used colorful pages from magazines for my strips of paper instead of buying printed scrapbook paper or printing one out and using ink.
The Iris Technique is great and it turns out really pretty.

Inside my card I cut out heart to decorate and I wrote a poem inside.
I’m not a poet either so I looked up some poems online and I found this one on DLTK:

I miss you when we’re not together
I’m growing up so fast
see how fast I’ve gotten since you saw me last?

As I grow, I’ll change a lot.
The years will fly right by.
You’ll wonder how I grew so quick
When and Where and Why?

So save this card in a safe place.
And take it out each year.
The memories will come back of me,
When I was small and dear.

I’ve been really stressed out lately. I have so much on my mind and too much on my plate.
I’m graduating this year so, I’ve been taking care of senior issues such as applying to colleges, getting scholarships, and what-not. I’ve recently decided where I want to go to school next but, I’m going to keep it a secret for now.
My birthday is also coming up soon and my family is throwing a large party because it’s like I’m an adult going to college soon so, they’ll throw this last one big. I also have to help with a lot of the preparations and I’m performing two dances in it too. I’m sure it’ll be loads of fun, and the hard-work will be worth it all in the end, but it’s just so tiring and stressful right now.
I also just finished all my AP tests. Across the US, high school students everywhere are taking AP exams this week and next week. Thank goodness mine are over; I don’t have any more next week. I piece of stress gone.
Now, my AP classes have large projects that are a huge portion of our grades. Oh my… do I have time?
I’m also searching for a job by the way…. Any suggestions? Know anyone?
I’m doing all this while trying to maintain my 3.7 average and trying to have the best senior year ever!
Sophomore year is still my favorite…. >.
