It seems like just yesterday I was having a slumber party with her, and now she’s getting married? Wow.

I remember the few occasions.

Thanksgiving.

Christmas.

my  eight birthday. (Wow. that was a long time ago!)

her eighteenth b-day. (Thats been a few years.)

Then a a few months ago I found out she’s engaged. shes a woman now!

I’m twelve, just entering adolecence. I saw a different cousin get married a year ago.

My brother is 17, my other cousin is 15, and I guess I just have to except that

I’m the baby of the family and I always will be.

I’m fine with that thoguh.

I don’t want to grow up. At least not right now. :-)

But anyway, wedding day is tomorrow. My daddy is doing the wedding service, and me and my mom are handling the guest book.

I have a nice dress  picked out to wear, and my Grandma made my cousin her wedding gown. It’s beautiful. My Grandma made my dress, too. The wedding is tomorrow evening, and I’m kind of excited. I’ll write in the mroning, so TTFN, TTYL.

Happy puricuting!

My cousin’s cat had kittens and he was able to give away all but 4 of them. I can’t take one because I am allergic, but if you could take just one it would be such a help and the kittens could have a nice home.Since he lives by the Nuclear Power Plant, I’ll go pick them up for you. I’ve attached pictures of the last 4 kittens.

 I would adopt all of them myself,  but I  am allergic to freaks. These cats may be adorable but are a big handful. I went to look at them and came home in shock. But if someone would be generous enough to adopt a precious cat…

The past couple days she hasn’t got to spend anytime with me beacause she has been sick and is currently having back pain, but a few minutes ago she was feeling well enough to come see me for a minute, dispite her aches.

Her Mom just got some chickens, about a month ago. The day before yesterday they put in a coop in the barn, right by my stall. The chickens are well…chicken. I walked up to them and they started carrying on like wild boars! I’m not that scary…am I?

Notice I’m in there too! Anyway, she loves me all the same. 

   When she brought me home, I was so hungry. But they have these big piles of tasty sticks! (They call it hay. Whatever it is, it’s good!) I went straight to it and dug in. Then I noticed there was some other creature in there with me. He black, small, and has forked hooves. He also has horns on his head! I think Sarah Calls him a cow. At first, me and that cow didn’t get along that well, but now we’re friends. But when it comes to sweet feed, a grainy mixture that Sarah pours in his trought, I can’t help kicking him away. That’s why Sarah feeds us seperatly, except she feeds me horse feed. She says sweet feed is making me a little fiesty. (But hey, it’s GOOD!) Speaking of feeding, gotta go! Sarah’s about to feed!

  One day when I wasn’t particularly having my mind on getting a horse, we got a call from our neighbor. She wanted to take us to the horse sale in another city. At first my Mom said no, then she decided for us to go. I sure am glad.It was cold so we bundled up and our neighbor, (Judy) picked us up in her vehicle. We went to the auction, got there a couple hours before the actual auction so we got to look at the horse close up and everything. From the looks of this place, the general idea of it being an auction, I really didn’t expect to even get a horse from here. That was actually the last place I expected to get a good horse from. But some things come un expectedly.

 As I walked around the barn of horses, I felt sorry for most of them. There were so many horse that looked like they had obviously been abused. There was one huge horse that had a tumor the size of a basketball on her belly. I actually thought she was pregnant till they told me it was a tumor!

Other horses were very mean, nipping at each other and yelling. Some were sick,  many had cuts on therefaces and all over their bodies.

 We came to find two ponies we were interested in. One was black and shorter than Samson and I really liked him. Then I noticed his eye was beat up and we found out he was blind. I really liked him but couldn’t get a hurt or sick horse, as tempting as that one was.  

 Than I found a taller pony, and I immediatly had a good feeling about him. I could only see his rear, and it was gray. We decided on buying him before the auction. We talked to his owner, and he wanted $300 for it. That was too much for us, so we offered $150. He wouldn’t take that, so we offered 200. SOLD!

We was going to haul him the next morning. My Dad had a friend that said he would haul him for us. My Dad called him and he said he would come the next morning. Then he called again and said he would do it that night! I was excited that I could take my horse home! We went to eat at the indoor restraunt they ahd, and I saved an apple and gave it to Samson later. I ended up staying home from school the next day to take care of my new pony. But at daylight, there was a HUGE surprise! He was roan, not gray! Roan is brown dappled with gray. When he’s wet, he’s gray! But he’s really brown. As for a name, well, there were many until we came to one that really suited him! There was Frosty, Samson, Gabriel, Blazer, Blaze, and lots more! We decided Samson. Because he has long hair, is strong, has a strong will, and is firm.

The ideal farmdog…

1.doesn’t chew on everything- Dixie’s pretty much got that down bat… as long as we don’t have anything around for her to chew on. :)LOL.

2. Doesn’t bark at cows- Well, Dixie normally stays away! She is too scared. But if she is around them, she throws a fit! Guess we need to work on that.

3. Is strong- Well, if fat counts, I guess dixie qualifies. She eats so much!<That’s my brother on the backround.:)

4. Is brave-Dixie is brave enough to go on the road- I’ll tell you that much! Enough said.

5.Can hunt-Dixie is definatly that!

I guess Dixie is a pretty good rolemodel- MOSTLY.

Barabaro was a champion and won many races, including Kentcky Derby. But in one race, the 2006 Preakness stakes, he shattered his right rear leg. The American Thourobred was rushed to the New Bolton Center in the University of Pennsylvania. the next day he underwent surgery so that the leg was strong enough to walk on.

He was pretty active to have a shattered leg. He could walk around in his stall.

But a few weeks later, he developed laminitis in his left leg after having an abcess in the hoof. They had to remove 80% from his hoof! With both legs injured, he had a sling in his stall so he could keep his weight off his injuries for a while.

The next month, it was looking pretty good. His left leg was healing, and he was removed of the sling.

A few days later he was even allowed to graze a little! The next, he had radiographs which showed that his right leg was almost completly healed. In September, he was on the road to recovery, with his left foot growing a little. By November his cast was on the right leg was replaced with a bandage. His left leg still had a long way to go as long as healing went, but he was a lot better. By December, his bandage of the right leg was removed.

It might have been looking great, but in January it was bad again. They had to surgically remove some of the left hoof again, making them have to rebandage Barbaro’s right leg and put him in a sling, again!

As if it wasn’t bad enough, he developed an abcess in the right hoof, which required more surgery.

And believe it or not, things got worst. He developed more laminitis, this time in his front legs. Now, he couldn’t use any of his legs.

Poor Barbaro, he had to be put down because it was so bad. They didn’t want him in any pain any more. I respect them for that.
