Boy Receives Rocks Instead of a Nintendo DS for His Birthday
From Yahoo! news:
Mom Jodi Wykle bought a Nintendo DS from her local Wal-Mart as a birthday gift for her son, knowing that he be pleasantly surprised with the gift.
He was surprised alright, but not in a pleasant way. What he saw when he unwrapped the gift wasn’t a handheld console, but a bunch of rocks and a Chinese newspaper.
It gets better: The mom tried contacting Wal-Mart to return it, but they refused, saying that it’s a Nintendo problem. When she contacted Nintendo, they claimed innocence. Wal-Mart only conceded in refunding it (+ a $20 gift card) when it found out that someone had angrily returned the same box of rocks earlier.
What’s your bet someone’s going to return a box of rocks with a Chinese newspaper to Wal-Mart in the next few weeks?

Wal-Mart really is going to lose buissness from this. It’s not Nintendo’s fault, Nintendo obviously wouldn’t send a product with a box of rocks in it instead of a DS. They care more about their customers than Wal-Mart clearly does.
Someone stole it, and instead of being reasonable, and apologizing. Instead they acted like a bratty kid accused of something wrong, and pointed at Nintendo yelling “They did it! They did it!” You don’t run a store like that. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if the person this mother talked to from Wal-Mart had a low IQ. Most of them do, and most of them can barely speak English as well.

LOL! I also read about this a few hours ago. I’ve been hearing a lot of cases like this, but usually from small-time sellers wherein they just ship an empty box or something.

Next time check whats inside the box.

Yeah, the buyer should always check, and since it’s electronics they’ll be able to check if it’s working or not.
In cases of mail-order which is the most convenient way for most buyers, it’ll be very difficult to check what’s inside the box.

I wonder how that happened? Maybe it’s not Nintendo’s fault, but rather other person that played a dirty trick on the boy? He maybe had rocks, puts them in the DS case, took the DS, and ran off without paying it first.
