Who’s the Offended Party Again?

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

As published in London’s "Daily Telegraph" just last month:

Britain’s Bristol City Council warned residents in government housing in September to always leave their sheds unlocked. Otherwise, thieves would have to break the doors down to get inside, and taxpayers would be stuck with the repair bills.

Bamboo can actually grow as much as 47 inches per day.

Nope. What you’re seeing isn’t a figment of your imagination. The floater actually does have a PC attached to it. Invented by Barry Lai Yin Lock for the NextGen PC Design Competition, this floater comes with a GPS device, Bluetooth, and Internet access. Instead of needing a fan to keep its system cool, it uses the water it floats on to keep the processor from heating up.

Looks like what they say about hairdryers and bathtubs aren’t applicable anymore. Now, if only this thing could automatically load a webpage to give you tips on how to keep you from drowning or escaping from a shark attack, then it’s golden.

You Turn My Bones to Water

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Now that’s what they mean by being a softie deep inside.
