Lost at Sea? Send an E-Mail.

Nope. What you’re seeing isn’t a figment of your imagination. The floater actually does have a PC attached to it. Invented by Barry Lai Yin Lock for the NextGen PC Design Competition, this floater comes with a GPS device, Bluetooth, and Internet access. Instead of needing a fan to keep its system cool, it uses the water it floats on to keep the processor from heating up.

Looks like what they say about hairdryers and bathtubs aren’t applicable anymore. Now, if only this thing could automatically load a webpage to give you tips on how to keep you from drowning or escaping from a shark attack, then it’s golden.
