You Pay for What You Eat
Annalakshmi Restaurant, with branches in India, Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia, is famous not for its Indian food (although I don’t doubt it’s good), but for the fact that it does not have set menu prices. You pay for your meal according to your taste: how much you give them for the food is entirely up to you. So if you give $5, don’t be scared that the chef will come running after you with a butcher knife - unless it’s the attendant who does it. There are no regular employees here, only volunteers (who probably want to see how good their recipes are :P).
Cheers to them!

All volunteers…… maybe they’re planning to open their own restaurant someday.

Strange restaurant. Must be good to have branches in different countries. Sure takes a lot of confidence for the chef.

how come they’re still in business? (the food must be really good, i suppose). I hope they will have a resto here in manila.

I doubt that they get paid well - unless there are very, very generous customers out there.:D They probably work there for kicks.
dianaslittlehelper: I don’t really know if they do, but they’ve got branches in a lot of Asian countries, so it’s possible.:)
