Walk the Plank!
Here are some more trivia, but this time from the film “POTC: At World’s End” itself.:D
- The crew built a 60-foot replica of the Black Pearl on the back of a trailer in the Utah salt flats to use in a shoot for the film. The scenes were scheduled for 19 days, but it took them only four to finish.
- The soundtrack was composed by Hans Zimmer, the same German composer who provided the score for the Muppets’ “Treasure Island.” (can you imagine Fozzie suddenly appearing and tapdancing while the pirates have their swashbuckling scenes?)
- News has it that At World’s End cost an estimated $200M to produce, making itn one of the most costly films in history. In contrast, Curse of the Black Pearl cost $125 M, $75 M cheaper!
- The first cut of the film was more than three hours’ long. (I wonder how many scenes ended up on the floor. Boo. Less time to see Jackie.)
- Johnny Depp and his wife Vanessa Paradis had a son the same year that Johnny filmed The Curse of the Black Pearl. Their precious bundle of joy ended up being named Jack (let’s just hope he’s not as disreputable as his namesake, just as appealing :P).

I know!:D But I think what they spent is worth it: a lot of people have been going to the theatres to watch the film - and they should! It’s a really good one! lol

Thanks for sharing. I think $200M is not really that big an amount, because a lot of people are watching it. So they can just earn the $200M back!

Yeah, a lot of people love that film so much that they probably earned that much the first weekend.XD
