I understand your feelings.

My parents say something like this: “Look at this person. He/She can do this, so why can’t you do it, too?”

It always makes me angry when they say something like that. I’m not that other person, so why are they acting like I am? Why are they even comparing me to other people? Why can’t they just compare me to myself in the past?

I wish they would say something like:
“I know you can do this because you’ve done something like this before. I trust you.”
In my opinion, that would encourage me A LOT more than saying someone is better than me.

However, I think that parents DO have dreams. (I’m not trying to be mean, I’m just stating my opinion. ;D) Sometimes I feel like they didn’t accomplish what they dreamed of, so they’re trusting me to try my best, and end up in a better position than them.

Of course, when I get angry, I feel the same way as you do. A blog is a great place to let out all your anger.
