February 27th, 2008 by sanriotown_moderator:hellokitty.com

As you guys might have noticed, Sanriotown is doing a contest for everyone who wants to be in the online game. A couple of entries came in and there is one particular entry that I find so simple yet so cool. I’m not a judge for this contest but it would have my vote if I were one.

Check out the entry:

I’m sure by now many of you guys have heard of Hello Kitty online. In behalf of all the staff of Sanriotown we would like to thank you for the wait. Many of you have been asking us when this game would launch and finally we have the closed beta.

Some of you have also been asking what a closed beta is, its a term used by the developers of a game meaning that the game is good to go for testing for everyone.

During this testing phase we would like your cooperation. If you see anything out of the ordinary or think that something needs to be improved, please don’t hesitate to email onlinegame@hellokitty.com or post at the sanriotown forums.

Enjoy the game and hopefully, I’ll catch you in game!

Password Protecting Your Posts

January 14th, 2008 by sanriotown_moderator:hellokitty.com

A key number of users have been asking if there was a way to hide a specific post from someone and maybe just share it. Maybe you only want a specific number of people to read your post, say a loved one or a close friend. All this is possible with a feature that allows you to password protect your post. Below is a simple guide on how to make this work.

1. First of all, you need of course to create your post, or you can edit an existing post.

pp1

2. Look for the section on the lower right that says "Post Password".

pp2

3. Go ahead and type your password. Make sure it is simple enough for you to remember yet difficult for others to figure out. Below is an example of what kind of a password you can put but please do not use the example password I have used. Make your own. ^^

 pp3

4. Save/Publish your post and you are ready. If anyone tries to view your blog they will see only your post title and will be asking a password if they want to view it.

pp4

There you go. You can start password protecting your posts. Just remember what password you assigned to it okay? If you want to remove the password from your post just go into your admin panel and delete the password that you have typed in and then save your post. It should now be viewable to everyone.

Happy Holidays!

HTML Tutorial - Font Effects and Color

October 22nd, 2007 by sanriotown_moderator:hellokitty.com

codeimg I’m pretty sure many of you have been asking why there is a "code" tab when you start writing a new post. That tab enables you to enter HTML code, the thing that web designers use to make websites and how they want it to look like. I know it sounds geeky and nerdy but once you get the hang of it you will be able to customize your post more than just typing on the WYSIWYG editor.

Let’s start with something simple. Editing the way you want the text to look like. Here are a few codes you might want to use for some text effects by using these tags:

<u>Underline</u> - Underline

<b>Bold</b> - Bold

<i>Italic</i> - Italic

As you can see those effects simply place an underline, make your text bold or italic. You can also combine them all at once.

<u><b><i>All Three!</i></b></u> - All Three!

Next you can add color to your text like what Rei has done on her’s:

codeimg2

To do this you must add a new tag to your font to show this color. To do this you simply need to add the following tags:

<font color="red">Red</font> - Red

<font color="blue">Blue</font> - Blue

<font color="green">Green</font> - Green

Another thing that you have to remember is that you need to close all your tags when you start them. If you leave them open say like a <font color="red"> tag everything after that tag will turn into red. You need to close it with </font>. This goes for other tags as well so remember to close them tags!

Stay tuned for my next tutorial about images, linking and paragraphs!
