How do I create a post?
There are 2 ways to create a post. One is clicking on the “write a new post” link on the dashboard and the other would be clicking on the “Write” tab.
How do I add links?
Click on “blogroll”, then click on “add link”. Enter the name, details and a short description then save your link. It should show up on your links.
What is a blogroll and how do I use it?
A blogroll is another term for links. The blogroll is where you add links to other sites or blogs. You can manage links (editing and deleting) and also add new links by manually typing them in or linking to an OPML URL (a website that indexes links in hierarchical form) or load an OPML file (similar to an OPML URL) from your computer.
What is the difference between links in my posts and links in my blogroll?
The links in the blogroll always display no matter what page you navigate to on your blog. Links on the posts only appear once in that post. You’d only want to place links in the post if you want to refer to a website that you probably found interesting or a link to a picture.
How many categories are we allowed to make?
There is no limit required for the number of categories that you are allowed to make. Just make sure you do not spam these categories.
What is the blog and how do I use it?
The blog is a user-generated website where entries are made journal style and the posts are displayed in reverse chronological order, meaning the newer entries are displayed first. A blog is more like a personal diary but it can be more. You can talk about current events, write your thoughts about a movie or just plainly talk about anything that you have in mind. To use it click on the “Blog” link on the Sanriotown navigation bar and it will take you to your administration panel. To start writing a post, click on “write a post”.
I clicked on the “View” link under the Manage tab to view my blog. How do I return to my Dashboard?
Clicking on your link will open up a new browser page to display your blog index. You can go back to your administration panel by closing that newly opened window.
On the Write page under “Discussion”, what is a Ping? How does it work?
Allowing pings notifies websites that you may have included in the trackback feature. This tells those sites that you have updated the article.
What is a “Post Slug” and how do I use it?
This is where WordPress will "clean up" your post title to create a link, if you are using Permalinks. The commas, quotes, apostrophes, and other non-HTML favorable characters are changed and a dash is put between each word. If your title is "My Site - Here’s Lookin’ at You, Kid", it will be cleaned up to be "my-site-heres-lookin-at-you-kid" as the title. You can manually change this, maybe shortening it to "my-site-lookin-at-you-kid".
What is a “Permalink”?
Permalinks are the permanent URLs to your individual weblog posts, as well as categories and other lists of weblog postings.
What is the “Post Password”, and how do I use it?
This feature enables you to password protect your entry if you want to make it private. Users will only be able to see the title of your post but not the content. To view your content, users must enter the password you typed in. To whom you share your password is up to you.
I changed my “Post Status”. How do I save the change?
Click on save.
What is the “Optional Excerpt” on the Write page?
This feature allows you to write a short description or summary of your post. It contains an entirely different content than your actual post which can be read by clicking on the “read more…” link.
What are “Trackbacks” and how do I use them?
Trackbacks is a feature that allows you to ping to another blog or site that had relevance to your post. Its like acknowledging a site which your post was probably taken from or had any relevance.
What are the “Custom Fields” for, and how do I use them?
Custom fields allow for some advanced editing but they are currently disabled.
How do I add links to my posts?
Highlight the text that you want a link to appear then click on the “chain” then in the pop-up window that appears, enter the link of the site in the link URL box then click on the insert button.
How do I insert pictures in my blog posts?
Click on the icon that looks like a “picture frame” and then enter the address of the image then click “insert”. Please also remember that we only allow images that are 400 pixels wide.
How can I preview my blog?
On the top part of your blog where your blog title is, there is a URL link that you can click on. This will load your blog’s index page.
What is my blog address?

Can I change the size, color and font face of the text?
Yes, you can use HTML formatting to change the size, color, or font face of your text. When you are writing a new post or editing an existing one, click on the HTML tab above the editing textbox and add the desired HTML tags.
How do I use the “One-click bookmarklet” on the Write page?
What is the difference between “Write Post” and “Write Page” on the Write page?
All posts go into a category that you have assigned it to. Pages are individual separate pages that you may want to add other information like the “About” page which describes yourself.

Technorati is a search engine for blogs. Being listed in Technorati means that you can get more views or traffic on your blog.
What is RSS and how do I use it?
RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication”. It is a feed that that is used to publish frequently updated digital content like blogs, videos or newscasts. To view your feed click on the “posts RSS” for the posts or actual content of the blog. The “comments RSS” are mainly for your comments. You can distribute your feed address to sites like Technorati.com so that they can archive your blog in their list. This will give your blog more potential to get hits or traffic.
