Black Jack game

So, I picked up the Black Jack DS game after thinking long and hard, and then finding out that Rock was in the game(coughcoughfangirlcoughcough).

At first, I was afraid I would have trouble playing, since I don’t even know kana. But it turned out to be pretty easy, as long as you have basic Tezuka knowledge, even the story is easily understood at times. Note that I say “at times” because most of the time, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what’s going on. Dialouge and such are complicated, but it’s fun to watch that too, because the sprites are entertaining and they’ve got voice acting, too- ^W^ I’ll try to post some screenshots later on. I’ve decided to take as many as I can along the way.

I really hope Rock doesn’t die in this game… I mean, the guy never gets any happy endings. Uh, I should probably save my fangirl-banter for later..

Anyways, I really should write up a review of this game once I’m finished with it, :3 I really reccomand this game, no matter how good/bad you speak japanese.

Swedish dubbing: Anime

Hello guys!

Ugh, saving up is so hard… But I made it. I made it. I saved up 500 SEK to buy myself some books with, ^W^ So I finally ordered Cyborg 009. I have the first two books, but it’s out of print, so it’s not in stock anywhere I live… (Cute Joe is Cute) And, I found out that it was actually released in Sweden during the 80’s with Swedish dub. Sweden, like a few european contries during the 80’s-early 90’s, imported a decent amount of anime from Japan. And while Sweden does decent dubbing on high-budget Disney films and so…

Well, they didn’t give anime much quality. The best anime dub I know is Digimon, and that was imported from 4kids. Most Swedish anime is dubbed with unfitting voices and has a cast of 3-7 voice-actors. The result, if you like bad movies, usually turn out hilarious. I try and buy them if I can find them, for the FAIL=WIN factor.

Take the Terra E dub, for instance. There was one man dubbing Jomy, Toni and Soldier Blue(They never translated his name. It sounded really wierd.), and he made them all sound like old men. They messed up translating several lines, ending in conversations that were impossible to follow and qoutes like
“We will fight them.. And after that, we will make freinds!”

Everybody were laughing their asses off. Even the grown-ups and a girl who hated comedy.

…Back to the 009 dub.
Turns out, it’s avadible on youtube. It’s fantastic, really. There is one person, ONE SINGLE PERSON doing an entiere fifty episode series. Sure, he was a decent voice actor, but, man. He did the girls, the children, it all sounded really stupid and wierd. His grammar was very lulzworthy, too. I mean, in a “People die if they are killed…” sense.
Link(It’s in Swedish, gomen…):

I simply must have this dub. I’m pretty sure this isn’t fansubbed, either… :D

Oh, and for those of you who don’t speak Swedish, here’s an extra. I went on a Rock drawing spree in class today:

Black Jack: Anime and manga

…So, I finally got my Black Jack books in the mail last week. (I’ve been busy and not had much time to write until now) They really PWN, even if they are much darker than the anime. The manga is a really great piece with gritty realism, bad endings, and not the uppity-happy-happy optimism that the anime posseses. The anime was kind of a family show, were Pinoco showed up a lot more often. Probably because the younger viewers identified with her, and this was broadcast on television after all.

I’m happy that I got to see the anime first, because otherwise I might as well have been one of those people bitching that “Hey, this ain’t Black Jack! This is wholesome family entertainment!”

Well, I kinda like the fact that the anime and manga differ, because that means I get to see something new weather I watch the anime or read the manga. I usually stop watching anime because it fails to impress me and I feel “Ehh, I’ve read this in the manga. It’s exactly the same…” Then I turn it off. But the thing about BJ is that I can read the manga and find a dark treasure trove, watch the anime and see more Pinoco and a slightly or almost completely different storyline, without it diverting too much from the original.

I can only hope that BJ anime will be released in the states soon. I nearly cried my eyes out with happiness when I found it was being relincensed, then cursed a river when I found that I could not buy it, then cried again when the anime came out, and now I have both the anime and manga. Kitty is happy girl, yes?

Vocaloid

Since it’s been a while now, I’ve decided to clean out my entries (Boy, did that feel good!) and start anew in this little corner of the world that we call the internet.

So, I thought it might be nice to share some of my favorite Vocaloid songs with you, :3

 1. Adolescense-Another Cendrillion by Kagamine Twins
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=hC8AP6gsHq4&feature=channel_page
I must admit-I’m a sucker for Kagamincest. But this one is actually pretty good, has a pretty video and great music.

2. Go Go Mario by Hatsune Miku
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=NEu0WqMv6Hk&feature=channel_page
Everybody likes Mario, right? And Vocaloid+Mario makes for an adorable video.

3. Old Radio by Kaito
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=tVGrqjKHz5Q&feature=channel_page
Truly, one of Kaito’s best songs. It’s got a cool story, too.

4. Give Back My Pants! by Len Kagamine
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=0Shd8wxlFIg&feature=channel_page
Isn’t Len-kun cute? He’s so shota in this… But that’s just cuter. ^W^

5. Prinsoner by Len Kagamine
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=CnSdZPhvFhw&feature=channel

Beutifull… ;__; If you love Kagmine-twins, you’ll love this. The video has varying art quality, but the words and story make it worth watching.

6. Hitobashira Alice/Human Sacrifice Alice by Kagamine, Miku, Kaito, and Meiko
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=PdcFAl-Ho6I&feature=channel
Sick, twisted, and well-worth watching. My taste exactly!

7. Dolls by Rin Kagamine
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=Es8fClakbrU&feature=channel_page
I don’t know the story that well, but the art is lovely, and the song really strikes tears.

8. Goodbye For Physicist by Hatsune Miku
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=DZm3o_WFy_o&feature=channel_page
Yes, the video is wierd. But it kinda makes sense if you can read the lyrics, preferribly matching the song to the text.

9. Uninstall by Kaito
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=tiKZgymNqnk&feature=channel_page
Yan-dere Kaito. :3 This song is so sad…

10. The “Hungry” Song by Miku Hatsune
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=jbCbcNsYuZw&feature=channel_page
This song is kinda slowy, but fits very well when you want to take it easy.

11. Let’s Return To Zero by Len Kagamine
http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=WsiDTDFWyxM
RAWCK! Kinda simulates the feeling of the very last boss battle in a video game.
