What better place to start than where we left off? Ripplecloud has posted the most amazing story ever right here in her blog. Be sure to check it out!  You may also want to go back and read How did we get so big? A great story of fantastic friendship and people coming together to help each other!

Lastly, please be sure to check out the new post in the hello kitty online blog. There you will find instructions for downloading a client which you will use to be able to play founders beta. I am so very excited and I hope to see you all in game!

I got an email this morning from HKO regarding the founder’s beta! It will begin October 8, 2008! I am so excited!! To get in on this, you simply have to sign up on SanrioTown (www.SanrioTown.com) and use the SanrioTown email system to send a blank message to hkofounder@hellokitty.com.  If you want more info, check here, at the hello kitty online blog

http://blog.sanriotown.com/onlinegame:hellokitty.com

Oh you guys I am so excited!!

In case you guys missed it, we are playing a fun little game in the guild forum, why don’t you check it out!

To getting to see what the new and improved HKO is like! Thanks to GM Neverender and his willingness to risk it all for us, we can see a few awesome screenshots from HKO! I am sure glad, because it looks SO COOL!

The wonderful ripplecloud has put together a great list of quick links for us in her blog. Thanks so much ripplecloud!

I changed the look of the blog to the new hello kitty online blog style! I think it was very fitting for us :) Be sure to check out the cool new blog styles for your own blog!

As always, feel free to email me with questions, or come hang out with us in the forums! It’s a great place to introduce yourself, and make some new friends, as well as keep in touch with old friends.

So those of you who join us on the message board probably already know this, but not everyone checks the guild forum, so I will post this here:

Hi there! Just re-posting the interview with Ali Aslanbaigi, GM Supervisor for Hello Kitty Online:

MMOsite: Is there any sort of rough schedule for when open beta and commercial launch will be available for players? Will there be a character wipe at the end of the beta test?

Ali Aslanbaigi: For both Europe and North America,we plan to have another Closed Beta for Q3 2008. After that,Open Beta will grace both continents during Q4 and commercial launch will be somewhere around the end of Q4 and the beginning of Q1 of 2009. As for the English speaking Asian regions,Open Beta will begin in 2009 and the commercial launch will follow very, very soon after.  Lots and lots of work to be done until then, but for now, just keep your web eyes peeled.

You won’t be able to play the game since Hello Kitty Online is still unavailable or down. Please wait for our official announcement on the exact schedules and availability of the game’s installer. Thanks and I hope this clears everything up.”

Thank you Tom for putting that up there for us!

Another note, a lot of people ask similar questions on the forum about the guild, and how to join, so I thought I would make a place that we can link to in order for them to have a good answer. Please refer all questions by new people who ask about joining the guild to this post! The text below should be of some help.

“Welcome to the guild for all who are interested in joining! To join the guild, you don’t have to have played closed beta, you can just hang out with us here and on the blog, and then meet up with us in game in the next closed or open beta (we aren’t sure yet which one they are letting us into next yet) to join it “officially”. Remember you can always quit the guild you are in and join a new one if you find that one does not suit you.
The purpose of the guilds in hello kitty online are to promote friendship, help each other with projects (such as house building), and to be able to use the guild chat feature and many other reasons. In our guild we have mini games and projects just for us in game! Remember that we are also great friends with people from the other guilds, and we help each other out whenever we can.
If you would like your new guild friends to visit your blog, or be able to email you, please leave your email/blog address in a comment to me, either here or on the blog.  My email address is sailoriastar@hellokitty.com. Please feel free to email at any time with questions or concerns that you may have! ”

So I know this will be of interest to everyone (especially those of you who don’t check the forums) but we found out last week that HKO open beta will not be released until Q3. That means around September for those of us who don’t speak quarter language :( I know we are a bit disappointed, but it is for good reason! They are making the final improvements and working out the bugs to make sure we have the best gaming experience possible. No more “Help! GM I’m stuck in a tree!” xD

On to the next subject: Our guild name. Some of us were kind of worried that someone would get the same awesome idea to name their guild the Sailor Scouts as well. But never you worry! I talked to our dear and beloved Tadakatsu and he assures me that he will be in the game during the first few seconds of OB and he will create the guild and then hand it right over. He will continue to be a member as well! Yay Tada!

As for those of you wishing to be added to the blog roll, please email me or post a comment here or in the forum letting me know your name and blog address and I will get you a button made as soon as possible, probably within the next week.

I know we have acquired a few new members in the last few weeks, please introduce yourselves and let us know who you are! We love getting to know new people and making new friends! We look forward to playing with you in open beta.

I would also like to congratulate the most amazing ripplecloud on winning the grand prize for the HKO video challenge! Congratulations are in order for shesroyaltee as well, who won the consolation prize! You girls make us so proud!

So the Hello kitty blog team (I’m not sure of their “official” name) decided that we are so fantastic that we should be featured in the Hello kitty news and blog! The article talks about the aspects of community in the game, and how we helped each other out in CB. It is a very well done article, so a huge thank you to whoever wrote it!

I completely agree that the friendship and community aspect is unique to HKO, and I am so thankful to have met and spent time with every one of you! I can’t wait until open beta, because I am sure we can expect much of the same kindness, friendship and fun to be a part of our experience.

Exciting stuff! First of all, thanks to rip again for getting these links together for us! Here are the HKO contest videos from our awesome guild members. Be sure and show them lots of support!

Good luck you guys!

On another exciting note, we now have our very own spiffy blog roll buttons! Just check out the blog roll in the Sailor Scouts guild blog to see them. Feel free to take them to add to your own blog roll as well. I am sorry that they took so long, but I think they turned out pretty good! Remember if you are a guild member and you want us to link you in our blogroll, be sure to leave me a comment here or email me (sailoriastar@hellokitty.com).

Don’t forget to drop by the forums once in a while and say hi to us over there! You can usually find a few of us just hanging out in the guild thread  :)

Hi Guildees,

A couple of guild members have started blogging but
are unsure how to do certain things on their blogs. So we’ve compiled
some useful links into this page for you. Do check them out and we
hope they will be helpful! ;)

Blog basics

  1. Master the blog basics - learn to write and
put pictures in your very first blog post
    .
  2. The default title of your new blog is called “My Blog”. It’s time
to give it a cooler name ^^ by changing your blog
    title
    .
  3. You can also change your blog theme and layout. This video shows you
    how.

Writing for your blog

  1. You can write a post or write a page for your blog.
  2. Pages are fixed sections of your blog, such as the About page or
    your Link Banner page.

    • For information that you want readers to view easily, write a page.
    • Readers can easily view each of these pages by clicking on the
page links right at the top of your side bar (right column of your
blog where all the links are found).
    • Readers can rate but not comment on pages.
  3. Posts are sort of like diary entries.
    • For information that you want to let your readers to be able to
rate and comment on, write a post.
    • Every new post you write appears at the top of your blog above
      the previous posts.
    • You can decide how many posts you want to display on the first
page of your blog. Readers can view the older posts by clicking to
      view the next page.
    • All posts are archived by months and your readers can view them
by clicking on the archive links right under your page links.
  4. Tired of the default black text? Jazz up your posts or pages by
changing the font face, font size and font
    colour
    .

Adding pictures, music, videos to your posts or pages

  1. Here’s how you can upload and resize images for your pages and
    posts
    .
  2. Knowing how to align your images is also useful.
  3. Now that you know how to add images, you can try using moods in your posts to share how you feel that day. Here’s a few more moods icons to use if you
    like.
  4. You can also post Dream Studio videos, youtube videos and imeem music on your post or
    pages.

Organising with categories

  1. If you write posts about a specific set of topics, it is easy to
    group posts into
    categories
    .
  2. This makes it easy for your readers to quickly find what they
want to read from you. Links to your posts by category are found
under your archives on the sidebar.
  3. Categories can be used for grouping your blogroll links as well
so that your blogroll doesn’t become overly long and confusing.

Start a blogroll

  1. You can add links to other guildees, bloggers and webpages that
you like on your sidebar. This is called blogrolling.

    • Your blogroll links will appear under the links to your pages,
archives, categories and rss feeds which are auto-generated on your
      sidebar.
    • Here’s how you can add link banners to your
      blogroll
      .
    • If some of your guild friends do not have a link banner yet, you
can still link them up. Instead of the image, the name that you enter
for the link will appear instead. Your blogroll links will appear on
your sidebar ordered alphabatically according to the link names.
    • Now that you have learnt how to add links to your blogroll, don’t
      forget to add Sailor
      Scouts’ Guild blog
into your blogroll :D Thank you in
      advance!
    • And remember, if your blogroll links become too long and untidy.
You can always neaten them by grouping them into
      categories.
  2. The guild blog links to all guild members.
    • If you want your link to appear as an image banner on the Sailor
      Scouts guild blog, here’s how.
    • Make your image banner and make a page for it.
    • Then leave a comment here on our blog post with your link banner page address (URL). Sailoria will be sure to add it in the guild blogroll ;).
    • Now all other guildees can also use it to link to you!

Adding Clustrmaps, counters and other cool thingamajigs on
the sidebar

  1. GM - Abby has a great post about how to add stuff into your sidebar, check it
    out!
  2. Sanriotown moderators have created how-to posts for adding Clustrmaps and adding sidecounters too.

Tools that make blogging easy!

  1. Windows Live Writer (WLW) is one of the blogging tools that Sanriotown moderator Ishida recommends.
  2. BBE has tried WLW and recommends it as well. Check out her post
on How to blog using Windows Live Writer for setup
    instructions.
  3. Also check out this great article on how to use the many time-saving features that WLW offers at
    Lifehacker.com.

Other stuff that you may have questions about

Conclusion

We hope you have found this blogging guide useful :) If it still
doesn’t answer the questions you have, please post your questions to
forum users at the Sanriotown blog forum and check back for answers later.
;)

If you find any errors or broken links on this page, or have some
some great blogging article, tips you want to share, do let us know
as well ^_^ Have a good day!

A huge thanks to ripplecloud, who put this list together for me :D

First I would like to say a big huge congratulations to ripplecloud for being one of the bloggers of month! Her blog is featured in the sanrio town June newsletter! Your blog is awesome ripplecloud yay!! For anyone who doesn’t get the newsletter, you can find her blog here:

http://blog.sanriotown.com/ripplecloud:hellokitty.com

On to another note. I would like to open up the option of having guest writers to this blog. I think it would be really cool if anyone who has news or stories or pictures to share would do so here. You would just have to submit your article to me through an email, and I will post it here, giving you credit for the article. Does this sound like something you may be interested in? Let me know guys!

I would like to thanks brendakins for submitting todays screen cap. It is of the famous marubadtz farm, which in a way, can be credited for the explosion of the Sailor Scouts guild! It just shows us that what we do can have a huge impact on others, even if we don’t expect it to. I’m glad Erin took that bit of extra time to make the farm look so nice!
