Went to Hong Kong in December with the family. It was our first time there so we basically hit the tourist traps. It was a lot of fun but also pretty exhausting walking around the whole day :P. My toe still feels numb :(. Anyway, I was sorting through the environmental pictures, and this is sort of the digital index of the pictures I have. Photo spam ahead!

Hong Kong from top
row 1 - I love the old buildings with geometric or repeated shapes and patterns that attract the eye.
row 2 - I seldom travel around X’mas and in my country we were never too hot about decorative lights and stuff on buildings so the light up of the buildings that form the city skyline was a novelty to me
row 2-3, column 3 -I happened to see statue/clay figurine of famous kungfu legends
row 3-6 - We spent an obscene amount of money on food. But then it seems food is in general slightly more expensive in Hong Kong anyway. Although the gap is closing I dare say.
row 6-9 - Lalala, wax people at Madam Taussauds on the Peak. It looks like Einstein and LKY had a tiff and are ignoring each other :P
row 10 - view from the peak
row 11 - we took the ferry to Hong Kong Island, switched bus and tram to get to the peak
row 12 - signage reminiscent of John Lennon and Yoko Ono?, night markets (pretty pervasive around the region so it’s a familiar sight)
row 13 - if you are not familiar with Carrie Chau, she’s pretty awesome :) (although my mom thinks its ugly heehee… generation gap.)

Ocean Park
I never really thought about visiting Hong Kong at all. There are lots more exciting places to go to really… like India wahahahaha.. Anyway, it seemed like a relatively safe and easy place to bring my mother and brother to. To be honest, I was too busy to read up about any of the tourist spots, so it was a surprise to me that Ocean Park had other stuff besides the aquarium and the amusement rides.
row 1 - what kind of a fish is this?? o_0
row 2-3 - I was particularly taken by the birds’ colourful plummage in the aviary, very lovely colours.
row 4 - the seals were particularly animated when fighting for food :P
row 4-5, column 3 - Ocean Park is built on a cliff, should be pretty exhilarating to be on that ride on a cliff?
row 5, column 2 - the seal and dolphin show was awesome
row 5 and 7, column 1; row 6 - more aquarium shots. The aquarium is basically a HUGE tank that is about 3 storeys tall. It looks a little overcrowded with all those giant fishes.
Last row - There is only one way to travel from one part of the park on the cliff to another part on lower ground and that is by a fairly long cable car ride that spanned across hillslopes. I would like to see that image in one of Miyazaki’s animation perhaps :P

Macau
row 1-3 - various indoor shots of the Venetian, a luxurious hotel-resort. I did not stay there but it was a nice place to be trigger happy.
row 3-5, column 3 - various outdoor shots of Venetian. It was visually impressive because it was the only tall building on its island.
Other photos - random impressions of the older parts of town and food.
Last row, cloumn 3 - Cheap Granny shoes!! to replace my worn out shoes xD …I am amused by the brand - 福妈妈 - which translates to “Fortune Mama”… auspicious :P muahahahaha!

OMG :O the whole world is here today!!! (ok I exaggerated :P but it IS a surprise to see so many comments in one day!) :D Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving me a note everyone!
Starrfire, Tee, Juno, Zel, Cookie, I see you have all fallen into my evil ploy of making everyone feel hungry = eat more = gain weight more than me over the New Year!!!! Muahahahahahahaha! xD *hic* You didn’t hear this!
@Starrfire, SALE signs were everywhere xD You can go shopping during sale season xD I know someone who goes on shopping trips there to buy clothes , shoes and Sanrio stuff at cheaper prices than here wahahaha… but wait, I really shouldn’t be giving you more spending suggestions xD
@Juno, Pink Bear, don’t be! I’m sure you’ve seen sights and enjoyed yourselves at places I’ve never been before too! xD
@Serenity, the Venetian was extremely grand to me… I’ve never been to anyplace like it before … I was in awe when I first got there.. it was just huge and impressive… although one does get used to it pretty soon and it starts to look normal heh xD
@GM-Cal, haha tell SD to send you to Hong Kong again xP The ferry ride was super rocky though :\ and I never did manage to get to the Macau Tower so I missed the Legos! :( … lack of time and mum was more interested in spending time buying foodstuff home rather than sightseeing wahahahahaha… Thanks for the compliment :P
@Tee, ok will bring a picture of you along next time :P… Hope you have no future encounters with jellyfish :) unless it’s you stinging them back :P
@GM-Zel, omg I do believe you are right *bows to Zel’s awesome knowledge* actually I think they look more like Slimey the Worm to me than eels :P Here’s slimey the worm - http://images.google.com.sg/images?um=1&hl=en&rlz=1C1GGLS_enSG291SG303&q=slimey+the+worm&btnG=Search+Images
@karen, have you started your Asia tour?? xD LOL You can start stalking me as early as this year as I plan to be in Canada sometime if nothing goes wrong xD But then again… stalking an unknown person is not so easy as stalking a celebrity my dear…
@Sofia, yes go with your boyfriend or girl friend(s) for the attractions, food and shopping during sale season muahahaha.. if you like shopping that is :P
Tidesong, iheartbadtz, victor5 ^_^ TGIF!!!!!!!!! Have a lovely weekend full of yummy food and good conversation!*hugs*
