Hi everyone!

ripplecloud now has a MySpace page! Check it out if you are interested :) I’ve got a couple of Sailor Scouts and SanrioTowners on my friends list already ^^

One day, while everyone in Florapolis is busy huffing and puffing away and getting their houses built before the end of closed beta, the news was posted on hellokittyonline.com that there will be a Lucky Seven Me and My Pet Pageant.

Ripplecloud was really excited because it seemed like something easy to do. Easy compared to growing oranges >.< or hunting for all 7 pet cards by yourself for two events announced earlier. These ripplecloud will forfeit because there wasn’t even enough time for building the house (yes this story happens before the house was built).

A meeting was called. Ripplecloud and the other guild members who read the news explained to the other meeting attendees that they needed to take a picture of 7 players with 7 different pets and send the picture to onlinegame@hellokitty.com to apply to join the event.

Unfortunately, ripplecloud’s new pet (yes, ripplecloud has a new pet BUT she hasn’t forgotten you Herman! Bless your soul in heaven ♥ ), Armani the Armadillo, refused to come out of his doghouse to join the event :( Has ripplecloud found herself yet another temperamental pet? Or is Armani the Armadillo just shy? ripplecloud couldn’t figure out either. But she does need Armani to come out and take a picture with the rest of the players and pets for the pageant application. We have a problem here.

ripplecloud PMed GM-Roan for help only to find that Roan and all the other players with armadillo pets are having the same problem. Is there an Armadillo United silent protest going on?

After some investigation, it seemed that the armadillos learned a type of magic that turned them invisible collectively, and then they didn’t know how to turn themselves back to being visible again! And they were so scared of being stepped on and squashed by everyone that they decided to just hide away in the safety of their doghouses and chew on bugs.

GM-Roan said the GMs were working on turning the armadillos visible again. In the meantime, if we could persuade the invisible armadillos to come out for a picture, we could go ahead and email that picture to apply for the event.

But you know what, it just didn’t make sense to take a picture with an invisible armadillo like the above… because there really is no proof whether I did have an armadillo or not. So for the next group picture, we decided to just stop being orderly :p

…talk about having a virtual pet… my armadillo is definitely more virtual than the rest!!

Luckily, there is a happy ending for all our invisible armadillos. The GMs made them visible again by the next day! :D

ripplecloud is amused to see SanrioTown-ers invading mmorpg.com blogs and forums. XD I saw Havel, HKFood, Jules/Kittynator and other familiar well-known nicks, guess who else? ;)… Haha is it because of the “naggy” pink power of BBE?

ripplecloud posted the following points of interest: -

1. Map - for Open Beta, only 2 cities - Paris and London and all the in-between areas - will be open.

2. Pets - will give players more inventory space and, note this BBE, act as “buffs” for the players since pet’s stats affect the player’s stats.

3. Hompy - players will be able to sit on couches, watch Dream Studio videos using the TV, lie on the bed, etc

4. Skills & Levelling - players can choose one of the four Resource Collecting (RC) skills to be their Primary skill and another one as a Secondary skill. This means the remaining skills won’t reach levels as high as the ones chosen. This mechanic forces players to trade resources with each other. RC skills will help increase overall level but not crafting skills.

5. Item mall - Good news for some players, besides real money payment, players also have the option to purchase items using SanrioTown points. Finally we see the use of those accumulating points :D

6. OB/commercial launch schedule - For both Europe and North America, plan to have another Closed Beta for Q3 2008. After that, Open Beta will cover both continents during Q4 and commercial launch will be somewhere around the end of Q4 and the beginning of Q1 of 2009. As for the English speaking Asian regions, Open Beta will begin in 2009 and the commercial launch will follow very,very soon after.

Meanwhile, offline events such as HKO Papercraft, Design-Your-Own-Weapons/ Pet/ Clothes (that could be included in the final product), are being planned to make life more interesting while we wait for OB.

Hi everyone!

It’s me Purin again. Sorry I, erm, fell asleep while writing the last post. Please don’t tell my owner I was using the laptop on the bed :P, it’s one of those things I am not supposed to do :P. Anyway, did you see my dream? It was a good dream wasn’t it? :3

*Yawn* It was a good idea to sleep all troubles away :D because you know what. I find that good things have happened when I wake up again :3… See Kyorosuke arrived in the nick of time to help all the froggies with the angry food and erm, one of them sort of gave Mimmy a tiny slap (ok, that wasn’t one of the good things :/).

With the angry food out of the way, I hope I can start eating yummy food again :D… like Tingal’s mangoes *.* I’m thinking maybe I should move to her mango plantation for a little while and erm, sort of keep the mangoes company ;) They are yellow too you know.

*Flabby tummy starts to growl* I really miss all my pudding at home :( The last few days, ripple and I have been eating “safe” food… like this century old fossilised squid cracker.

It’s not that bad, but it’s not the yummiest thing in the world.

I miss my pudding, maybe I’ll skip out for a little while and check that my pudding is still sitting safe at home :) (since ripplecloud is not home anyway…)

Are you surprised to see me? Well I’m surprised too! XD My owner is away travelling and while I am an independent puppy *smiles* I’m thinking it is probably unwise to stay in the house ALONE :( What if the angry fruits come and attack me :S *eeee…shiver*

So I came to bunk in with ripplecloud for the night! :D And I discovered her blog with my picture on it (not to mention Mimmy’s blog, GM-Abby’s blog, etc etc *pleased smile*)!! So here I am to leave my paw mark on it ;)

Don’t worry ripple says she will update with more pictures from her closed beta album soon, I’m not taking over this blog :P

Anyway, It’s the first time I’m writing on her blog. I’m usually just napping or going on walks with my best friend, Muffin… I wonder how Muffin is doing now… *pensive*

Oh I just wish all the angry fruits will just go back to being just yummy fruits with no feelings. Otherwise, *gasp* how will I ever eat again??? Boohoo..

But then I am still glad that I am here with ripple. Because, look at the big bed I get to sleep on :D *rolls lazily around the bed* Ahh, so comfy… ZZzzZZzzZZ

I am writing my own speculative post here! Must be GM - Neverender’s influence rubbing off of me :P Muahahaha…

Anyway, according to the official blogpost on HKO Hompy System, the “Hompy” is the term we use for the interior of the house in the game Hello Kitty Online. You can decorate it with furniture and stuff to make it nice and homey. The blog says that in future versions of the game we can even interact with the different hompy items.

On the HKO site’s FAQ page, it is also said that “HKO has a number of social features built directly into the game system, including a hompy (mini homepage) system.”

In closed beta, we had limited items to decorate the hompy with and most of those were not interactive. I was not even aware that the hompy could possibly function as… a mini homepage? That is starting to sound like Cyworld Korea to me :P

Another interesting titbit that I got from Part 2 of the Tenton hamster interview with Ali Aslanbaigi, the Games Master Manager is that “from Sanriotown you can monitor your HKO player status and avatar, your pet’s status and avatar, your buddy list, and the number of people currently playing on your HKO server”.

Now I am really interested to see how all these features will eventually work together to form one integrated system that Hello Kitty Online and SanrioTown could possibly evolve into. And I’m also waiting to see if the “mini homepage” (if it really is going to exist) will integrate with our SanrioTown blogs.

Meanwhile check out my temporary webpage hompy ala Cyworld style :P. I decided to create one because Dawn LaRee gave me an ice-cream and I want to store it somewhere nice! I said temporary because I will probably update again when I get a real hompy on HKO. Hee ^^
