Title: Days Like This
Author: Sylenttails
Category: Harry Potter/Transformers [Crossover]
Rating: G
Summary: It’s one thing to be tossed thru the Veil for something he didn’t do. It was quite another to wake in his animigus form in a world not his own. Harry just knew someone was laughing at him somewhere. Mech/Mech pairings inside.
My Thoughts: Sparkling!Harry, so cute! Long delay’s between chapters, but they’re pretty good and semi-long.

Excerpt:

Harry chirped again as he took the present from Sam, doorwings twitching a little in nervousness. He ripped the oddly shaped wrapping off to reveal… A plushy Bumblebee? Harry cooed as his doorwings fluttered in surprise. He looked to Bumblebee to his plushy and back again. The plushy was a near replica of the scout and it was soft. He never had a teddy bear when he was human so this was a surprise! He hugged his plushy Bee to his chest plates chirping and cooing in happiness causing all those around him to smile in delight.Sam stepped back a little as will stepped forward. The present he held in his hands was slightly larger than the plushy Bee. Harry didn’t want to let go of his new toy but knew he had too in order to open his next present. Harry warbled in thought then tentively held it up for Ratchet to take. Ratchet took the plushy and held it gently near Harry.
“This one is from some of my solders here on base. How they convinced my wife to make it I have no idea.” Will handed over the present he held.
Harry chittered in amusement and ripped off the wrapping. Harry whistled in surprised delight. A plushy Ironhide! Harry clutched the toy to his chest and nuzzled the head. He was never letting go of either one!

NaNoWriMo

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

I’m actually thinking about participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Of course, I’d actually write fanfiction and not original stuff, but who cares?

So I found this to tell me how many words per minute. I think I should get rid of like 5 of those, because I don’t think your supposed to backspace while doing it, but meh. But wow, if I really just go out there and type I’m pretty fast. If I do 1667 words a day then I’ll make the 50,000 word mark by November 30th. That means, that it should only take me 23 minutes to do this. If I give myself an hour every day, that means I can sort of plot something as I type. Should be interesting.

71 words

Title: Tales From the House of the Moon
Author: Resmiranda
Summary: Kagome, now in college, discovers the tale of Sesshomaru and Rin. Grief can be a prison, but the bonds of love are not easily broken. What is the truth behind fairytales? [SessKag] [COMPLETE]
Type: Anime: Inuyasha
Genre: Adventure/Drama
Rating: M
Chapters: 42
Warnings: Kagome & Sesshomaru: Romantic Pairing, graphic
My Thoughts: A bit too drama-y for my tastes, but cute nonetheless. Loved when they finally got together, but then…Very well written though. I like her Sesshomaru.

From Chapter 39:

“What are you reading?”

“A book.”

“Yes, I can see that. What book are you reading?”

“None of your business.”

“This sounds kinky. I feel left out.”

“It isn’t.”

“…Seriously, what are you reading?”

A sigh. “It is called The Body of the Lotus.”

“That does sound kinky.”

“I assure you it is not. The subtitle is ‘Feminism and the Politics of Gender in Postwar Japan.’”

“…Okay. So… why are you reading that?”

“One of my clients told me that I do not understand women. I think that is an unfair accusation, but would feel remiss if I did not at the least give my conceptions a cursory check-up.”

“…Oh.”

“…You do not sound convinced. What do you mean, ‘oh’?”

“I mean you don’t understand men, either. But you’re still one of the most highly sought-after therapists in Tokyo, though I can’t imagine why.”

“I admit that it sometimes puzzles me as well.”

“Oh, you think you’re not that good?”

“No. I think my genius often goes unnoticed. I’m amazed any of the intellectual powerhouses that walk through my door recognize my prowess at all.”

“God, you’re full of yourself. Isn’t that some kind of psychological disorder? Narcissism, or something?”

“Only if my perception of myself is vastly out of proportion to reality.”

“You make my brain hurt.”

“Once again I triumph in the realm of intellectual combat.”

“I need a drink.”

“No. I think my genius often goes unnoticed. I’m amazed any of the intellectual powerhouses that walk through my door recognize my prowess at all.”

“Only if my perception of myself is vastly out of proportion to reality.”

Sesshoumaru is arrogant ♥

Title: Eir’s Tomorrow
Author: Hades’ Phoenix
Summary: The Planet isn’t willing to let death take away its greatest weapon. If Cloud can’t save the past, then he’ll be damned to watch history repeat itself. Time travel, SxC, ZxA.
Genre: Drama/Adventure
Chapters: 15
Warnings: Slash (aka: Boy on Boy)
My Thoughts: Time Travel Story! Except, he is a spirit for the first couple of chapters before he gets his body back. I like it. Final Fantasy FTW! Drama-y, but…exciting too.

So in chapter 15, the Turks are going to assassinate the President to make Rufus President.

“Sephiroth.”

I’ve received orders to stop your mission,” Tseng said without preamble. “Your actions have not gone unnoticed, and Lazard is now missing. Heidegger believes that you and Lazard are in conspiracy.”

“Do you know where Lazard is?” Sephiroth asked through numb lips.

No. The President in unconvinced that you’re guilty of anything more than probing too deeply into Hojo’s business, considering your…distaste for the professor is well known. But Heidegger will continue to push for more than just a cease and desist.”

“The timing is too convenient.”

Indeed,” Tsend murmured. “But since Hojo was so indiscrete as to leave a SOLDIER bloody and unconscious in a public hallway, as well as the protests that have been pushing at the doors, the disappearance of a department director is forcing the President to sit up and take notice.”

The phone connection crackled slightly in the silence.

This is an official order to stand down and stop pursuing Hojo.”

Sephiroth smiled faintly. Tseng had technically followed Heidegger’s orders to the letter, if not the spirit. “I understand.”

A contingent of SOLDIER Seconds and Thirds waited for him back at the ShinRa launchpad, but Sephiroth passed it by and to the tower. He was quiet as the elevator took him up to the highest floor where the President’s business office and living quarters took up the entire level. When the general entered the office without knocking, he found himself faced with the President seated at his desk and the primary four department heads standing before him. Reeve, fortunately, acted entirely natural, even if the others rarely took notice of him anyway.

“Sephiroth!” the President smiled, spreading his hands wide over his desktop as though granting some sort of benediction. “I take it you heard from Tseng, then?”

“I did.” Reeve may have been a good actor, but Sephiroth had only ever learned to freeze his emotions to keep them hidden.

“Well, then I’m glad you’ve seen things our way. Now, your men are waiting at the helicopter – ”

“Mr President, if I may,” and there was absolutely no way for him to pretend that was in any way respectful, but at least it hadn’t come out derisive, “I have matters I wish to discuss with you. I was told that Lazard has disappeared and I need to know who my liaison with ShinRa will be while myself and my men are abroad.”

“Well, me, of course,” said Heidegger, puffing up his already expansive chest. Palmer and Scarlet seemed amused. “I am the senior director of SOLDIER, after all.”

“You are. The matters I wish to discuss with the President, however, extend beyond your station.”

“Now see here, Sephiroth – ”

“Calm down, my good man, there’s no reason to get upset,” said the President with a smile. “Why don’t you and the other directors wait outside in the hall while I hear what the general has to say, and if it’s appropriate, then I will discuss the matter with you in turn.”

Reeve didn’t so much as throw Sephiroth an unusual look. When the room cleared out and the door closed, the President said, “So what did you want to talk about, Sephiroth?”

The general could see why ShinRa was playing along. The thought of having General Sephiroth needing him for anything was enough to rouse the President’s ambition and sense of control. Not even Hojo had managed to retain control of Sephiroth, and that same need for power meant the President would never surrender information – about Cloud, about Hojo, anything – as long he felt he was in the superior position. Hand resting lightly on the Masamune’s hilt, the general said, “That was very stupid of you.”

Then Sephiroth put the Masamune through the President’s chest until the tip of the blade hit the floor.

His PHS rang again.

“Yes?” he answered calmly, one hand holding the phone and the other gripping his sword. A choking, spasmodic twitch from ShinRa’s dying body sent a shudder down the length of the weapon.

Sir, the men are awaiting your presence to proceed to Mideel.

“I’m on my way.”

He called Tseng.

“The cover story we arranged with Rufus concerning insurgents from below the Plate is no longer necessary. I imagine he’ll want to be briefed.”

Tseng disapproval was almost audible.

“…I see.”

‘That was very stupid of you.’ *gigglesnort* ‘Cover story is no longer necessary.’

Sephiroth is badass ♥
