Audiobook Love

Saturday, January 8th, 2011

I finally got around to reading (see: listening) to book 4 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Battle of the Labyrinth.

O(≧▽≦)O ワーイ♪

I feel special. Now I just need to pull out 10 hours of my time to listen to the last book.

Jessie Bernstein is a very good voice actor though. I like him. ♥

Click on “Author” at the top, and then “The Lightning Thief” for a Jessie Bernstein read excerpt of book 1. If you scroll down a bit more, Rick Riordan (the author) reads a bit too, but he isn’t as good (no voice changes for the characters). Check it out if you have time! It’s a very good book series.

Rats are Delicious!

So, I started reading the Percy Jackson series after watching the movie. I wanted to know how badly they butchered the book version. I just finished the first book (The Lightning Thief) yesterday, and am now on the second one (The Sea of Monsters). Well, I’m listening to the Audio Book version of them, anyway.

I must share with you a little excerpt of it, however, because it is hilarious. At least, to me it is! I’m not sure if it’s because it’s an audio book and the guy that does it is awesome, or because it’s just funny, but…

Warnings: If you have not seen the first movie or read the book (The Lightning Thief) this little excerpt will have a fairly big spoiler in it. If you have seen/read it, however, it will have very minor spoilers from book two. It’s not that fair into the book, so don’t worry too much. If you want to listen to the audio book, let me know. I’ll see what I can do (if you can’t find it yourself). George and Martha are the snakes on you-know-whos caduceus. This excerpt is from Chapter 7.

Disclaimer: The Percy Jackson series belongs to Rick Riordan. The Audio book was read by Jessie Bernstein from the Listening Library.
I really, really recommend listening to it. Jessie Bernstein, the guy who reads it is awesome. The Audio Book is “Oh I wish my parents read books to me like this” love.
