Man, I’ve been so busy. 3D Modeling class is exhausting. I’ve got a new job at GameStop, which is extremely competitive and I’ve been so stressed out lately, hahaha. Totally worth it, though.

Yep. Really no good excuse except for school, work, etc.

Anyways, I’m currently in the process of giving this whole blog a facelift. Hopefully this will encourage me to keep up on blogging. I made a few buttons, including one for my new Youtube channel, StrawbabySparkles.

I have a friend who’s a big fan of the video game Portal.

The main antagonist is a computer by the name of GlaDos.
“GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) is a fictional character in the 2007 Valve Software video game Portal. She is an artificially intelligent computer system in charge of operating the Aperture Science research facility, which is the setting of Portal. While initially appearing as a voice to guide and aid the player, her words and actions become increasingly malicious, making multiple attempts to kill the player-character. She eventually is revealed to be insane, having killed the scientists who ran Aperture previously with a deadly neurotoxin before they could install her morality core.”

Hello GlaDos:

Probably one of the weirdest/most unique Hello Kitties to date.

Thanks to Rosie/dominicanmami89 for recommending this game on her blog. If it weren’t for her, I would’ve never played it nor gotten this crazy idea to do this drawing in my head. So mad props for her.

The character he connects to the most is Ventus, from Birth By Sleep, and I sorta give call him “Ven” all the time, ’cause he reminds me of him so much. XD. This is his Christmas present.

Ventus means “Wind” in Latin.

Hello Ventus:

Witches are special in that they’re one of the only types of Infected that are completely passive (they sit there on the ground or wander around crying), unless you “startle” them by bumping into them, shining a light at them, or some other way of getting their attention. A Witch, if startled, usually will just incapacitate or kill the person who alerted them. (Therefore, it’s highly recommended in the game that you usually just ignore Witches.)

PS: On another note, I wish we didn’t have to use these awful skins, if we could design one ourselves. I hate how every time I view this page, it seems that the borders are all wonky and the images are breaking the layout. It’s miserable-looking. >_>

My colored pencils started to run down and got kind of dull when I started the lettering, but I didn’t bother to sharpen them for it. I kind of like the gradient effect the letters had; it looked more “graffiti”-ish. However, if I had used makeup like I have been in some of the more recent ones, it would have obtained a more “sfumato” effect, which I’m not sure if I would prefer it as much for a “grainy” graffiti-like drawing. Part of the graininess gives it it’s edge.

Even though things haven’t always been the easiest, I’m looking on the bright side right now. Every challenge is an opportunity, (and possibly something to pad my portfolio, too, heh heh.)

So, my friend Brooke recently had her 21st birthday, so, to commemorate it, I drew a Hello Kitty of both of us. This is also the first HK drawing I’ve done of myself, as well.

I know, it’s not much, but eh… the skirt is designed to be reminiscent of a strawberry as Strawberry Sparkles is my screen name, as well as “Strawberry” being Brooke’s nickname for me. I forgot to scan this one before I sent it to her, so this is actually a picture she just took on her phone, which is why the resolution isn’t as high as normal and the quality isn’t that of a scan’s… sorry. *bow bow*

I’ll try to be a bit more vigilant with the updates… >_

Q: What was your favourite Birthday ever and what made it so special?

I didn’t really get much of a super sweet sixteen so my parents tried to make up for it for my seventeenth. It was pretty hardcore. They rented out a place to party and I had a DJ. It was pretty sick and I had a lot of fun.

Okay, so I kinda haven’t really been reading/replying to my comments in as timely of a manner as I would like; I apologize, I’ve just been so busy lately. I recently got employed at McCutcheon Music store in Centerville and am getting ready for school starting and just have a lot on my plate. So, now, (aeons later) I’m gonna do Nemo’s Sunday Social meme.

Q: What’s your favourite late night snack?

A: I would have to say peanut butter crackers or a banana, as of late. I used to like to snack on really bad junk foods and realized that probably wasn’t the healthiest choices I could be making. At least snacking on protein like peanut butter will help ward off hunger late at night. And bananas are great for me if the baby gets up in the middle of the night, as you only need one hand to eat them. =). If I want something more filling, I usually go with Korean Ramyun bowls. Kimchi-flavored is my favorite.

Cute + Evil = Despicably Adorable!

In other news, there’s a good chance that I may be doing an interview soon with Jonathan “Blade” Manning from Artisticbiker.com, which might be kinda fun, thanks to my cousin Andrea. I’m referring more people to my blog who are also into art, so even though they can’t comment, they’ll hopefully be checking in from time to time at least to see it.

And because this was such an easy HK drawing, here’s a non-Hello Kitty drawing I did a while back, from the movie Final Fantasy: Advent Children.

I know, not nearly as cute, but people often don’t take me seriously as an artist if all I ever do is HK drawings. But, I DO have a Hello Kitty Kadaj drawing that I will be posting soon. I just didn’t wanna give it all away too soon *big grin*

The thing about Axel is that he has a slanted, heavily-lined eye with a bright green iris. I tried to incorporate that into his eyes; as there’s not a lot you can do facially to make someone look Hello Kitty. (Which is why I like closeups sometimes; they’re a challenge to make them look like the character facially). Hello Kitty, though, has oval round-ish eyes, so it was a compromise between her eye shape and his, but everything else in the eyes screamed “Axel”… including the color, slant, and maniacal expression.

Someone asked for this one: Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Each of the elements are being represented from the show: Earth, Fire, Air, and Water as Aang is in the ‘Avatar State.’

I think it turned out okay, though, don’t you?
