Hello Everyone! For those of you who want Sailormoon back in ANY capacity, you only have until 11:59 central U.S. time to e-mail me your votes. The final votes will be counted tonight, so be sure to send in your votes NOW. 11:59 is your deadline, and I will have an update on today’s current standings in a moment, but first, some tragic wrestling news.

In Memoriam: Killer Kowalski passed away August 30th at the age of 81. Kowalski had suffered a heart attack on August 8th, and had been battling various health concerns over the course of the last year or so. Born October 13th, 1926, Kowalski wrestled all over the United States and Canada, and held numerous titles  in the NWA, WWWF (Now WWE), IWA, AAC, MAC as well as the legendary Stampede Wrestling. Kowalski, trained by Lou Thez, was himself a great teacher, having trained such notable stars as HHH, Perry Saturn, Chyna, Frankie “Kaz” Kazarian, Giant Bernard (A-Tran/Prince Albert) and now joins the heavens with two of his other students, Big John Studd and John Kronus. Kowalski is survived by his loving wife and friend Theresa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Killer Kowalski’s honor to:

Injury Report: John Cena will be out 2-4 months, as a result of a herniated disc. Cena suffered the injury during his Summer Slam bout against Batista, though Cena did not start to really feel the effects until later the week after the PPV. Last Monday, Cena lost all feeling in his right arm, and was sent to the hospital. Cena had a disc that was bulging, pushing down upon his spine, causing the numb sensation. Cena went in for successful surgery, and will now be replaced at Unforgiven by Rey Mysterio Jr. Cena begins physical therapy this week.

Also out is Ken Kennedy, who will be gone from television 4-6 months due to torn labrum and damage to his rotator cuff. Kennedy went in for surgery Friday. The injury occurred at a house show several weeks ago. Ken was told to obtain physical therapy, but the therapy only seemed to agitate the injury, which is quite serious.

Legal Report: Kevin Lawler, son of Jerry “The King” Lawler and brother to Brian “Grandmaster Sexay” Christopher, was arrested this week on suspicion of burglary. Kevin Lawler has dabbled as a wrestler and ref, and is involved in the carpet industry.

In other Legal news, Raven, Chris Kanyon and one other individual are suing WWE for shady dealing involving contracts. WWE has long been touted as the main company to contractually screw wrestlers, and this lawsuit is based upon WWE’s no-compete loopholes, which have impeded several wrestlers from obtaining lucrative post-WWE bookings with many notable Indy promotions. If Raven’s Flock succeeds, this will mean that ex-WWE wrestlers will have a quicker time getting into TNA, ROH, or anywhere else they please, meaning wrestlers can be allowed to go anywhere they want to, SANS a no-compete clause.

Sailormoon: Atlanta is reporting on one of the youngest Sailormoon fans visiting an anime convention. If you live in Atlanta, today is the only day you have to visit! Check it out here: http://www.accessatlanta.com/entertainment/content/events/stories/2008/08/30/dragoncon_atlanta_parade.html?imw=Y

As mentioned earlier, you only have a few more hours to cast your vote in the Sailormoon poll this year. Winning characters will be featured on the next Sailormoon campaign. LAST CHANCE PEOPLE!! Send me your votes NOW at rasslinkitty@hellokitty.com. Once again, I’d like to thank Codename Sailor Earth, the G.A.I.A. Sailor Scouts Guild on gaiaonline.com, and the legions of Moonies who have sent in the votes thus far.

WWE: The Undertaker made a stand on SmackDown, reminding General Manager Vicky that he is after her soul. The beloved Deadman set the ring posts on fire, early Friday night, as Vicky watched in horror in her office. Chavo, Bam Neely, Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder then proceeded to lock her in. Vicky stayed sealed within her tiny office, until the end of the episode, as the lights went OUT, and all you could hear was her screaming…..

Did I mention that I love the Undertaker? :)

In other news, former TNA star and WWF standout Ron “The Truth” K-Kwik Killings debuted on Friday as R-Truth. The smiling sensation came out to his TNA music, and whooped Kenny Dykstra silly, to the delight of a pro-TNA crowd.

Also debuting Friday were the Bella Twins from FCW. One twin (Brie Bella) went in against
Victoria, and was dutifully annihilated, but it was her sneaky sis stealing the victory. Yes, the old’ Basham twin switcheroo.  This comes as interesting, as one twin is darker than the other in skin tone. *Sigh* The Bella twins whom are skinny but pretty, were amongst the first divas to have had extra training by Billy Kidman in FCW.

TNA: Kevin Nash and Sting have few, if any fans left, pending this past Thursday’s debacle. Nash broke storyline, b*tch slapping TNA champ Samoa Joe for no apparent reason. Joe had been on commentary praising Nash during Nash’s match against Kurt Angle, when all of a sudden; Nash leapt out of the ring, smacked Joe, and told Joe

“Pay attention to my match, b*tch! Keep your eyes on ME.” To wit the shocked Joe stood up, and asked “Keep my eyes on YOU motherf***er??” Don West and Mike Tenay tried to verbally retrain an irate Joe, but Joe did what anyone else would have done, and went to ringside, low blowing Nash. After Nash lost, Joe confronted him in the ring, screaming “What happened to what you told me? Watch your temper, Kev!!” Kev walked out in a huffy hissy fit, ignoring the confused Samoa Joe, who was asking Kev to practice what he preaches.

Sting rambled at the end of the taping about how he could never retire, knowing that guys like A.J. Styles and Samoa Joe were the next stars to come up. Sting rambled like an incoherent father, even bringing up the immortal line “When I was YOUR age…” which is hysterical, considering the fact that the “kids” Sting was referencing are either pushing or already over 30, with A.J. being a married father of two. Sting, who turns 50 on March 20th, is an Aries Pisces mix. Sting swore that he showed respect to Ric Flair, doing “EVERYTHING” Flair told him to, which if you check out youtube.com sometime, you will find out that Sting is a LIAR. Sting dared ANY young wrestler to come out and say he’s wrong.

A.J. Styles came out and said “You’re WRONG.” A.J. echoed what I was thinking, when he asked Sting “WHO do you think made TNA???” to the delight of the crowd. Sting tried to back peddle, by claiming that he thwapped Joe in the head, and dropped A.J. on his, because he wants to save them and see them grow. A.J., who still uses common sense, saw right through Sting’s stupid lie. Sting then gave A.J. his baseball bat, and dared A.J. to take a swing. A.J. swung, only to be hit by Sting, who dropped him on his head again. Jeff Jarrett’s music then played as a warning to Sting.

In other news, So Cal Val is putting her ring on the line at the next PPV, over a ladder. Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal., winner can marry Val. C’MON LETHAL!!! >_O

ROH: OMEDETOU GOZAIMASU GO SHIOZAKI-SAMA! Go won the FIP title from Erik Stevens, thus making his recent tour of
America successful. In other HUGE news, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are returning to Ring of Honor this October. Could this mean a full time return within the next year? This reporter hopes so!

Well that does it for now. As always, stay clean and healthy and read a good book when you can. Until next time!

Hello everyone! Your wrestling and Sailormoon news is here, but I must start off today’s news on a sad note.

Injury Report: Sadly, 22 year old standout Pelle Primeau has been medically forced to retire, due to the beating Delirious gave him in Chicago Ridge on August 16th. You may recall that I documented the beating in my last post. Pelle was throttled, and did not land right on several occasions. The result is a serious head injury, along with blunt head trauma.

If I could sum up Pelle Primeau in one word, it would be determination. I was lucky enough in June to get Pelle’s autograph, and I can tell you, Pelle put effort into every single move.

On April 1st, 2006 in Chicago, I met my friend, who’s also a wrestler, Jason Saint. Jason and I stood by, as Pelle went to go up against Derek Dempsey. (Bobby Dempsey’s brother) Pelle stood in the ring, and the two went toe-to-toe. Derek made a comment to Pelle about Pelle’s size. (Pelle is less than 5’2.) Pelle cocked his head. WALKED up Derek’s chest, kicked Derek, and then landed perfectly on his feet, before Derek even realized Pelle had moved.

Pelle had recently begun dying his hair differently, experimenting with his look to see what the crowd thought. He didn’t need a gimmick, because fans at ringside were generally happy to see him wrestle. Pelle also worked security, and also helped out with setting up and taking down the ring, and also with general repair and maintenance. Even there, Pelle worked hard, trying to make the show that much better.Pelle, a graduate of the Ring of Honor School, had won the 2007 Top of the Class trophy, and endured a long feud with Shane Hagadorn. He then feuded with Chris Hero, and subsequently the entire group of Sweet n’ Sour Inc.

On August 16th, I stood across from the ring, and could loudly hear each “thump” whenever Pelle landed, during Delirious’s assault. I had seen Pelle hurt before, but this time, he just didn’t move. This is the first time in my life; I’ve ever seen the end of a career up close. And certainly I’d never think that end would involve someone as young as Pelle Primeau.

Before his retirement, Pelle had made 2nd runner up in the PWI Rookie of the Year award, and made #307 in the PWI 500. Below is an excerpt from his 307 ranking:

307 Pelle Primeau (5’5, 140, 4, 354) Was a second runner-up in the Rookie of the year voting in the 2007 PWI Achievement Awards… Participated in the ROH “Race to the top” tournament, defeating B.J. Whitmer in the first round before falling to Davey Richards… Teamed with Antonio Blanca to defeat The American Nightmare, only to have Blanca turn against him… Got revenge by beating Blanca in December… Recently teamed with Delirious to win a tag team scramble match against Brent Albright and Chris Hero and The Vulture Squad.

And below is an excerpt from the PWI 2007 Achievement article with Pelle:

Pelle Primeau [12 percent] Second runner-up: Primeau excelled at Ring of Honor’s training school and regularly competes on ROH cards, graduating from special “student matches” to becoming a solid mid-card competitor, even winning 2007’s Top of the Class trophy. Primeau has suffered his share of one-sided losses against some big names in ROH, but he has also shown remarkable resilience and a determination to improve at his craft. For as short as his career was, Pelle still has legions of fans, and I for one wish him well, and hope he can recover fully. WE MISS YOU PELLE!

Firing Squad: TNA and Gail Kim have come to the agreement of her release. Gail had her last TNA match Thursday night, losing to Awesome Kong. How the sudden split came about is unknown, but it is said to have been an amicable split. The release comes as a huge shock to the Knockout division, as Gail was in the middle of a new storyline, involving her “sister”. What exactly will become of Gail’s “sister” is unknown.

Sailormoon:  There’s only 6 days left to vote. The final votes will be tallied at 11:59 pm on August 31st. WWE: Both Raw and SmackDown are gearing up for the dumbest title match they’ve had this year. General managers Vickie Guerrero and Mike Adamle introduced a concept sure to bring about chaos at this year’s Unforgiven. The match will go as follows:

5 wrestlers will be selected, including the champion. 2 men will enter the ring, with another to go in randomly during the first few minutes. There will be a 20 minute time limit. The title can change hands any number of times during that time limit. The man to get the final pin gets the belt and will be the ONLY man acknowledged as champion during that night. Even if someone else had the belt 2 seconds before him, WWE will NOT acknowledge him. That sucks.

Speaking of Vickie, The Undertaker returned to a standing ovation Friday night. Vickie brought out all of her boys to the ring, giving a half-hearted apology. ‘Taker did not accept, telling her that he came NOT for an apology… but for Vickie’s soul. ‘Taker then proceeded to beat the daylights out of her entire squad.

Much of SmackDown was marred by hasty re-hashed matches, but had one single highlight. That was The Undertaker. Aside from his long awaited return, SmackDown had a rumble style match, which Brian Kendrick inadvertently won, via Big Show’s help. Big Show had torn into the ring during a battle royal to determine who would qualify for the championship scramble. Big Show had been excluded by Vickie, for unknown reasons, which she tried to cover up by saying “oversight”. Big Show blew through 10 wrestlers, and accidentally gave Brian Kendrick the win, when Spanky flew over the top rope into Ezekiel’s arms, instead of the floor. The ref saw it, and allowed Ezekiel to push Spanky back in, thus he will now be one of 5 men in the SmackDown scramble.

The other four men are current champion HHH, MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Jeff Hardy.

TNA: Okay, like the SmackDown tapings, I’m going to whittle this down to news only.

So Cal Val was invited to Karen’s Angle. Karen tried to bully Val into making a decision about Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal. This comes across as highly ironic, considering the fact that Karen is on the brink of divorce from Kurt Angle. Sonjay came on the set, to try AGAIN to persuade Val to choose him over Jay. But as Sonjay was touching Val, she screamed and bolted for escape, as Jay jumped Sonjay, and beat him senseless. Jay flung Sonjay around like a rag doll, and reared back to strike Sonjay again, but accidentally hit Val. Val’s head fell hard onto Karen’s floor, resulting in a concussion.

A.J. Styles retained Kurt Angle’s medals in a ladder match. A mysterious guitar fell from the sky to help the ROH alumni. Hmmm… ^_^

ROH: rohwrestling.com is currently gearing up for the next video wire, which will document Pelle’s accident in Chicago. In the meantime, there is a large article up on the subject, along with an article on how many people Nigel McGuiness has beaten to retain the ROH title.

PWO: CONGRATULATIONS JAKE CRIST AND VINCENT NOTHING!!! ROH alumni Jake Crist and PWO star Vincent Nothing are the very first PWO tag team champions. The belts were won after a LONG and laborious ladder match at PWO’s annual Wrestleution event. The Ohio promotion is small, and doesn’t earn much annually, so in place of the traditional hook and wire that most promotions use, the contract for the belts was hung on a long piece of yarn, which stretched out over the ring at an outdoor arena. Jake had to endure a cheating ref, who was helping everybody up the ladder in an effort to speed the match up, and the men also had to put up with flimsy and dangerous ladders, which buckled several times during the bout. Jake climbed the ladder, while everyone else was counting stars, and grabbed the contract. As he tried to unhook it, the yarn snapped, sending Jake all the way down to the canvas, as he cradled the prize.

Well that does it for now. As always stay clean and healthy and read a good book when you can. Until next time!

Hello everyone! Before we get to today’s Sailormoon and Wrestling news, I just want to point out something. Due to the amount of news, some sections will be split off, while others will be condensed. Also, due to lazy booking from both WWE and TNA, most of the results have been chucked, so you can get to the NEWS items faster. However, there’s enough news to keep you up to date through Thursday, so let’s get to it!

Firing Squad: WWE has had a massive firing spree over the last 2 and a half weeks, and many wrestlers fear that it’s not over yet. Since August 7th, a large number of mid to low card talent, rookies and referees have all been fired for NO apparent reason. Here’s a timeline of the firings thus far:

August 7th: Braden Walker a.k.a Wildcat Chris Harris was fired. WWE officials site poor behavior and a “bad attitude” but wrestlers and fans alike find that hard to swallow, considering the fact that Braden was in the middle of a push.

August 8th: ECW Superstars Nunzio and James Curtis, SmackDown Superstars Shannon Moore, Domino, and Big Daddy V, and WWE referee Nick Patrick were all fired, for no apparent reason. These groups of firings seemed irresponsible, considering the fact that Domino and Big Daddy V had JUST been traded back in June, and were in line for new storylines. Furthermore, Nunzio was one of the last original ECW alumni left on the roster, and James Curtis had just inked a new deal not that long ago. Making things worse for the WWE, Shannon Moore had a STRONG following amongst female fans, and rest assured this might not be the last we hear of it.

August 9th: FCW talent Charles “The Hammer” Adams, Brad Attitude, and Matt O’Neal were all let go. The Hammer debuted earlier this year at Wrestlemania 24 as one of Floyd Mayweather’s crew, and was also a former OVW tag champ alongside Bam Neely. Matt O’Neal was a football player, and Brad Attitude made many appearances on Velocity.

August 15th:  ECW stars Stevie Richards and Colin Delaney, Raw tag team the Highlanders of Robbie and Rory, SmackDown Diva Cherry, and WWE referee Wes Adams were all fired without warning.  This was the most irresponsible firing out of the last few weeks, as two of the fired were in the middle of storylines! Cherry was one of 5 divas in line for the SmackDown Diva Title as well as one of the best liked divas all around, and Colin Delaney was in the middle of a program with Tommy Dreamer and Mark Henry. Robbie and Rory had JUST returned to Raw the week of their firing, and Stevie was one of a handful of original ECW stars left. One theory suggests that the two fired refs were let go because Nick Patrick (son of the Assassin and WCW alumni) was unable to work, and Wes Adams was dropped due to him giving a FAIR call. Wes, who doubles as a wrestler, was last seen one week ago, calling the match between Matt Hardy and Morrison. Vince McMahon reportedly wanted Morrison to win, but Wes made a fair call, and rightfully Matt Hardy was declared champion.16 people all together have been fired as of this writing, with more expected by the end of the week. With several of these people having been used weekly, right to the end, one can only wonder why WWE is slitting their own throats (metaphorically) and in the immortal words of Bill Goldberg, Who’s Next?

Injury Report: Ken Kennedy will be out for an undisclosed amount of time, following a dislocated shoulder. Also Umaga will be out 4-6 months after ripping his PCL during a house show. Both men are under observation and may require surgery.C.M. Punk received several stitches in the back of his head after his victory against JBL at SummerSlam. Punk appears to be okay, but was checking his wound for blood on Raw. JBL was well enough to compete on Raw as well, but may need to be reevaluated pending the same match. JBL had fallen at the PPV, slamming his head against the canvas WAY too hard. Jeff Hardy Had fluid in his elbow last week, and may have suffered one other undisclosed injury during SummerSlam weekend. No word yet on Jeff’s condition.

Sailormoon: 11 years after the final Sailormoon episode aired in
Japan, the pretty soldier of love and justice is still a trend setter, perhaps in a bizarre way. Young ladies in Japan have long since accepted the radical and often foolish surgical practice of giving themselves more “Western” eyes, but now many Japanese adults are having an altered version of the surgery, to make their eyes look more like Usagi’s instead of their own beautiful ovals. You can read up on this story here:

WWE: In lieu of your usual results, I’m condensing this section to news for today. The only results I will be posting are from SummerSlam. Hopefully by Friday things will have settled down enough for me to return to the usual format.

In several recent interviews, Mick Foley made it VERY clear that he might be leaving soon. Mick’s contract expires September 1st, and Mick has been absent for two SmackDown tapings. Mick did offer to appear at SummerSlam, but at the last minute, management pulled Mick for undisclosed reasons. Tazz has thus been moved to SmackDown, despite the fact that Tazz is ECW, and Matt Stryker has been moved back to ECW to replace Tazz.

SummerSlam suffered from haphazard booking. MVP beat Jeff Hardy via interference from Shelton Benjamin, Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix beat Mickie James and Kofi Kingston, with Santino winning the Intercontinental belt, and Beth winning the Women’s title. Matt Hardy beat Mark Henry via DQ after Tony Atlas pulled on Hardy during the fight. After the match, Jeff Hardy came out and helped his big brother beat on Mark Henry. HBK came out with his wife Rebecca a.k.a. Whisper, to announce his “retirement”. Y2J had come out to confront Shawn, and Shawn in return made a snide comment, involving Y2J’s family.
Jericho took a swing, and Shawn ducked, letting Rebecca take the blow. As officials came to her aid, she was heard to have been telling Shawn that she’s okay, just swollen. Shawn cried. Like a baby. As noted earlier, C.M. Punk beat JBL, and Batista beat Cena. In the main event, The Undertaker annihilated Edge, and then went back in the ring, and choke slammed Edge off a ladder in the ring, and through the ring itself! When ‘Taker lifted his hands, the hole where Edge’s body was ignited in a pit of flames!

Notes of interest from WWE: Kane revealed that Rey Mysterio’s mask was in the burlap sack he was carrying. In the midst of the firing squad, Colt Cabana and Shawn Spears made their overdue debuts in the ring since my last blog. Colt debuted last Friday as Scotty Goldman, and jobbed Brian “Spanky” Kendrick. Both boys are from ROH. Shawn Spears came out as Gavin Spears and lost a well fought brawl with Ricky Ortiz. Shawn had been in OVW for quite some time, and even worked a storyline not too long ago with Colt, the highlights of which are on youtube.

TNA: Jeff Jarrett is reportedly unhappy with Sting’s current conduct. Sting decided to no-show the impact tapings for this and last week, holding the company ransom for cash AGAIN. This caused a major stir amongst TNA talent, and last week’s taping was emergency re-booked around Sting’s walkout. Sting was supposed to have come out in person and address his “problem” with A.J. Styles and Samoa Joe, but instead, the younger stars were reshuffled. Joe wound up in a winning tag team match with Kevin Nash against Team 3D, but Joe was visibly upset after the match, and beat on the Dudley Boyz after the match was over. Referee Earl Hebner tried screaming at Joe, and was clocked for his effort. Earl then cried to another ref, and reversed the decision, giving Team 3D the win.

Jeff Jarrett has made it clear that he will no longer allow Dixie Carter and TNA to kowtow to Sting’s every whim, and will NOT approve another pay hike for the 49 year old. Sting will have to be content with his current multi figure salary for now, until he can prove himself a necessity.

Impact suffered from scrambled booking, with the main event being a Greco style match between A.J. Styles and Kurt Angle. Kurt received Sting’s bat, but Jeff Jarrett (who went unseen) dropped A.J. his guitar, allowing A.J. to thwap Kurt with said implement, causing Kurt to bleed and A.J. to win Kurt’s gold medal from the 1996 Olympics.

ROH: The reason for my absence was my preparation for an amazing Ring of Honor show in
Chicago! I was in a cozy crowd of 500+ fans who rocked the roof off the Frontier Fieldhouse Saturday night.

The pre show saw Ninja Blue and Ninja Yellow from the ROH School; team with Jaguar Jackson, to square off against beloved star Egotistico Fantastico, Nate Bash and Ben Sailor. The crowd was not too impressed with Sailor, Bash or Jackson, but were thrilled to see Egotistico and welcomed the Ninjas. Finish saw Team Ninja score a pinfall.Pre show main event saw Sugarfoot Alex Payne beat Hunter Matthews, proving once and for all who the king of Minnesota is. Hunter wanted desperately to be taken seriously as a heel, but kept screaming like a girl each time he was hit.

Kevin Steen beat Kenny King in a high energy bout, with the crowd behind Steen all the way.

Pelle Primeau was supposed to team with Delirious in a tag team scramble match, but Delirious had gone missing. Here’s a rundown of events:

Delirious likes Daizee.

Rhett Titus likes them both.

Daizee has no clue that anyone likes her. Period.Rhett made a video and told everyone (including Delirious) that he (Rhett) slept with Daizee.Daizee says Rhett’s a liar.

Delirious asks Daizee out.

She says let’s just be friends.

In Ohio, Delirious has a match with Rhett Titus. The Age of the Fall come out, begging Delirious to decimate Rhett and then join them. Delirious accepts, and bloodies Rhett. Daizee begs Delirious not to go with AOTF, but he goes anyway.

In Chicago, Pelle tells the live crowd that Delirious is missing.

Daizee comes out to the crowd booing her, as she asks Delirious out on a date, effectively changing her mind…. too late. Oy.

Mischif drops Daizee on her head, smiles, then leaves. The crowd applauds this.

Delirious comes out with the AOTF, and bloodies Pelle.

As a result, they were replaced with Mitch Franklin and Trik Davis.

Jigsaw and Ruckus beat Mitch & Trik, The Briscoe Brothers and Chicago’s own Phoenix Twins. This match was fast and furious, with the crowd screaming in delight, even up to the shocking finish of Jigsaw and Ruckus’s win. The Phoenix Twins are two bald boys from
Chicago, who wowed the crowd with speedy athletics. Hopefully, these two will be booked again.

El Generico defeated Tyler Black in a thrilling match. Tyler came out with Allison Wonderland, who flinched during the entire match.

Erick Stevens retained the FIP Championship against Chris Hero. Hero attempted to be serious through the match, but ultimately goofed up and Erick took advantage of it.

Bryan Danielson (Who was very badly sunburned) and Austin Aries defeated Nigel McGuiness and Claudio Castagnoli in tag team competition. Claudio came out wearing a long, cheetah print skirt, and a clean shaved head. Claudio has undergone a complete change, becoming more aggressive in a feud with Bryan Danielson.

In the Sweet n’ Sour Gauntlet, Roderick Strong beat Bobby Dempsey (who gave String a win while Larry Sweeney was distracted), Shane Hagadorn, Adam Pearce and Chris Hero, but due to Hero’s tactics, Roderick was pinned by Larry Sweeney, who was wearing a light blue Richard Simmons style singlet with pink stars.

Brent Albright retained the NWA World Heavyweight title against Go Shiozaki in a long and brutal match. Brent won by kneeing Go in the neck, until Go passed out!

The long awaited match of Jimmy Jacobs vs. Necro Butcher was the main event. Prior to the match, Jacobs made mention that Necro and his wife had just welcomed a baby girl into their family. (Awwww mozeltov!!) Jacobs tried to get out of the match, by sending Necro on a mission to Alaska. Necro asked Jacobs “With WHOSE money??” And “What’ll ya pay me?” and Jacobs reply was that it would be for the mission.

Necro asked for the mic.

Necro told Jacobs that his priorities were with his baby and his wife.

Necro then tried to help Jacobs with his priorities by clubbing him in the head with the microphone. Four times in a row.

The match spilled out onto the floor, fans crowded the area, following the match intently, while Sugarfoot and another man worked security, trying to keep everyone safe. Trash cans (the thick ones, not the flimsy WWE ones) chairs, and a wide variety of other utensils of destruction were used by both men as the match progressed back towards the ring. The crowd was HOT for the match, but eventually Jimmy Jacobs won via help from Tyler Black and a table. However, the fight did not stop there, as Delirious came out to help too, but so did the Briscoe Brothers, Kevin Steen and El Generico! Soon, the four faces had fought back the AOTF, and then fought each other. Once everyone got back in the ring, an irate Necro Butcher fought EVERYONE, then propped a chair, daring Jacobs to come back and face him again. Jacobs instead walked away, crying.

NOAH: Takeshi Morishima was caught by NOAH officials wrestling in two WWE dark matches this week. On Monday, NOAH officials sat in the
Chicago crowd with Harley Race, and watched on as Morishima-sama beat Charlie Haas, and then they watched again Tuesday at the SmackDown/ECW tapings as Morishima-sama beat fellow ROH star Jamie Noble in a short dark match. Hopefully, Morishima-sama will NOT sign with WWE, as they have a habit of stereotyping their oriental stars unfairly.

Well that does it for now. As always stay clean and healthy and read a good book when you can. Until next time!

Hello everyone! This has been a strange weekend, so let’s get to it!

In Memoriam: Although they weren’t wrestlers, they are more than worth mentioning. Comedian Bernie Mac, whose famous sitcom featured Stone Cold in one episode, and all around legend Isaac Hayes both passed away over the weekend. Bernie Mac suffered from pneumonia and sarcoidosis; the first mentioned having taken his young life at the age of 50. Isaac Hayes was only 65, and the cause of his early demise is unknown pending an investigation. Thoughts and prayers go out to the families of these two men, as they were taken much too soon. The two had been working together on a new movie due out November 14, 2008, titled Soul Men. On an eerie note, the movie follows two musicians who reunite pending the death of their band mate.

Injury Report: Killer Kowalski suffered a massive heart attack Friday. He is currently alert, aware and recuperating in a hospital. The 81 year old athlete is also suffering from long standing knee damage, and had surgery some time ago to repair the damage. More as it becomes available. Speedy Recovery, Killer!!!Also, Maryse reportedly suffered a broken nose, after her match on SmackDown this week, when Maria accidentally kicked her too hard.

Sailormoon:  There’s a news article up this week about the growing popularity of Bento lunches, the tiny malnourishment boxed meals celebrated in
Japan. The meals are now making a hit with health nuts and the article mentions Sailor Moon being a forerunner for this success, and even shows a Parallel Sailormoon inspired Bento, complete with a rice rabbit head, ala Kousagi’s enemy. You can read all about this appetizing treat here: http://www.examiner.com/x-355-Low-Carb-Examiner~y2008m8d7-Back-to-School-Packing-fun-foods-for-focussed-pupils

WWE: WWE.com reports that there was a massive firing spree starting Friday night and ending Sunday morning. This is NOT storyline, this is real.

In addition to Braden Walker/Chris Harris, Shannon Moore, Nunzio, Nick Patrick, James Curtis, Domino and Big Daddy V have all been fired from WWE, for no apparent reason. None of the aforementioned men had failed any known tests, nor did they fall into any immediate fault category. Each man curiously came from both the SmackDown and ECW rosters, which is odd considering the fact that these two brands are short on talent. Shannon Moore stayed on the light side of things, by telling 1wrestling.com (formerly owned by Joey Styles) that he “wishes WWE well in all their future endeavors.”

In other news, several newspapers are noting Mick Foley’s sincere unhappiness as a color commentator on SmackDown. The worst part seems to be how Vince McMahon screams into the earpieces of each commentator, rather than let the men do their job. Mick’s current contract expires September 1st.

SmackDown: Adding to the above note, Mick did not show up for SmackDown on Friday night. Whether or not this is related to Edge’s attack the previous week has yet to be determined, but Tazz’s absence from ECW was explained, as it was announced that he had been sent to SmackDown to take over for Mick.

Maryse, Victoria, & Natalya defeated Michelle McCool, Cherry, & Maria in an Olympic dress up match. Maria proved to be no match to Natalya, who easily made her tap out.

In an ironic and now sad moment, Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder defeated Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore. None of the four men knew Shannon would be unemployed after this match, as the decision to fire Shannon was made after SmackDown aired. This match is now bitter to swallow, as Shannon was denied a decent farewell match, despite the WCW veteran’s track record or fans, nor was he even given a heads up. This was a foolish and disrespectful move made by WWE.

Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin ended in a DQ, after MVP butted in and booted Jeff in the head.

In a VERY needless segment, HHH faced off against Khali in a broken glass arm wrestling match. It was the usual arm wrestling table, with broken glass. Wow. HHH made very racist jokes about Khali’s handler Ranjin Singh, prompting eye rolls from the crowd. Khali flung HHH around, and then squashed his head. HHH needed a carry out.

Vladmir Koslov beat Jesse and Festus in a handicap match.

In the main event, Brian Kendrick beat Super Crazy, whom although is ECW was sent ahead to SmackDown. After the match, Kendrick’s friend Ezekiel put Super Crazy in the torture rack.

During the evening, mysterious things happened backstage. Equipment was damaged, and Curt and Zach were layed out. Each scene had a black rose on the victim, prompting Chavo, Vickie and Edge to meet in the ring after the main event. Edge made it out as though this was Undertaker’s fault, but low and behold it was Edge. Edge whacked Chavo with a chair, then one man conchairto’ed Chavo. As Vickie screamed, Edge flipped over her wheelchair, and then babbled incoherently that he will take out her whole family, for putting him in a Hell in a Cell against The Undertaker this Sunday.

TNA: Hard Justice was a disappointment. Here are the quick results:

Petey Williams retains the X Division title against Consequences Creed, due to Davairi’s interference.

Gail Kim, ODB and Taylor Wilde defeated Awesome Kong, Velvet Sky and Angelina Love. Traci Brooks was the referee.

Beer Money of Robert Roode and James Storm defeated LAX and are now the new Tag Team Champions.

Jay Lethal, whose family was at ringside, defeated Sonjay Dutt in a Black Tie Brawl and Chain Match. Sonjay made the fatal mistake of making fun of Jay’s family.

Christian Cage and Rhyno defeated Team 3D, and even got post match aid from Abyss.

Kevin Nash tried unsuccessfully to get Sting to talk.

A.J. Styles decimated Kurt Angle in a last man standing match. Kurt had to be carted off after the match. A.J. was then ambushed from behind, by a crazed Sting. Heels, Faces and commentators all agreed that something is WRONG with Sting, perhaps beyond the realm of story.

Samoa Joe beat Booker T in the Six Sides of Steel Weapons Match. During the end of the match, the lights went out, only when they came back on, Sting was NOT there, but a guitar was!! Joe nailed Booker T with it, to score the victory. CONGRATS JOE!!! Could this be Jeff Jarrett?

ROH:  SHIMMER this fall will debut the new SHIMMER tag team belts! No word yet on whose in line to get a shot, but the details will be known shortly.

This Saturday will see the Chi-town ROH debut of Tweek and Dash Phoenix, two local kids who will be thrown into a tag team scramble against The Briscoe Brothers, Ruckus and Jigsaw, and Delirious and Pelle Primeau.

And on an even happier note, Jerry Lynn will make more ROH appearances this September. If all goes well,
Lynn might be an ROH mainstay!

Well that’s it for now. As always stay clean and healthy and read a good book when you can. Until next time!

WWE: Some shocking news out of the WWE camp, as WWE.com posted the following message just a few hours ago:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstar Braden Walker as of August 7, 2008. WWE wishes Braden the best in all future endeavors.

Braden Walker, aka Wildcat Chris Harris had only been in WWE for a few months, and had just made his ECW debut barely three weeks ago. With no further explanation given, it is unclear why Harris was let go. No word on a return to TNA.

On a lighter note, Directv subscribers this week are being treated to a SummerSlam special, airing on Dynamic DAU Channel 115. The 30 minute special features The Undertaker vs. Bret Hart with HBK as special ref from SummerSlam 97, John Cena vs. Randy Orton, as well as various clips and cuts from other SummerSlam events. The special is hosted by Tough Enough alumni Josh Matthews, and also features an interactive puzzle of Maria. The program is free and even features glimpses of current TNA stars.

WWE/TNA: It’s seldom that I have to print this category, but the one thing wrestling fans have dreaded since the demise of WCW has finally happened again, but with TNA. December 14th will live in infamy as the day the PPV wars restarted, as WWE has made the foolish decision to move Armageddon from December 21st to December 14th, the same day as TNA’s Turning Point. No word yet on the coniption fit Jeff Jarrett is having.

TNA: Impact left wrestlers hurt in more ways than normal. The booking was haphazard and confusing, and the PPV is now left in question. (Hey, didn’t I type this about WWE?)

Roxxi won an upset victory against Jaqueline in a Knockouts match! Traci Brooks, sporting new ref gear and a new entrance was the special ref.

The Prince Justice Brotherhood (Wait… Abyss?) of Curry Man, Super Eric and Shark Boy confronted Sonjay Dutt about So Cal Val’s ring. This lead to an impromptu match between Sonjay and Curry Man, to wit Sonjay won via cheating and a dumb ref. However, an irate Val was watching the match at ringside, and was up to date on what happened. After the match, the three men jumped Sonjay, and gave Val back her ring. She questioned Sonjay about it, and Sonjay told her a REALLY bad story about “her dropping it”, and she actually hugged him, as the faces looked on in disgust.

Oddly enough, Jay Lethal (who faces Sonjay this Sunday in a black tie match) and Val never saw each other during the taping.

Jay and Consequences Creed defeated Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. If you’ve ever seen these men, then you know why the NAACP will be calling TNA soon. Curiously, Alex and Sabin had no problems shaking Jay’s hand afterwards, but Sabin rebuffed Creed, and Alex pushed Creed back! Hmm…

It was announced that there will be a six woman tag match at Hard Justice on Sunday, with Taylor Wilde on board. Thus there will be no women’s title defense that night, unless the booking team can wake up.

PPV’s and title matches go together like fanbase and ratings.

In a frightening match, Team 3D and Beer Money went toe to toe with LAX, scoring a win. However after the brutal contest, a glass table was brought out, and Homicide was slammed right through it. Homicide had glass in his eyes, and multiple laceretions up and down his body. He began going into shock, while the commentary called for a commercial break. Homicide was taken to a local hospital, and there is no word on his condition at this time.

Salinas was sent right back out, and was clobbered by Kong.

A scary weapons gauntlet match was held. The stipulations were as follows:

8 men grab a weapon, and wait behind the curtain. Faces on one side, Heels on the other.

Two men get in the ring after each set countdown.

Men are eliminated by being sent to the floor over the top rope, until two men are left. The final two men duke it out, deciding a winner via pinfall or submission.

At the start, a scary accident occured. Kurt Angle and A.J. Styles duked it out, with A.J. bringing a ladder. Kurt briefly winded A.J., and set up the ladder. A.J. got back up. Kurt bounced off the ropes, ran under the ladder (bad luck), bounced on the other side, turned under the ladder, only for A.J. to pop Kurt with said ladder. The hinge holding the ladder open sliced Kurt in the ear and head, clipping an artery, causing Kurt to start pooling FAST.

A smart official would have sent Kurt to an ambulance right then and there, but idiot boy supreme Earl Hebner ordered Kurt to stay.

Kurt ran on fumes, until he was finally eliminated. However, he waited for A.J.’s elimination, and put him in the ankle lock, before leaving on his own terms.

Samoa Joe would go on to beat A.J., Kurt, Tomko, Kip James, B.G. James, Booker T and Matt Morgan, after beating Tomko with a Muscle Buster.

After the match, Joe announced that he will take his belt back, and then take out Sting. Joe looked up in the rafters, catching Sting BEFORE his music went off. (Ha ha) Sting actually showed up, though he stayed in the rafters where it’s dangerous.

ROH: ImpactWrestling.com has posted a new video from the NWA, showing the emmotional and beautiful title win Brent Albright achieved. People are saying it may be historic for a special reason, so check out the video here: http://impactwrestling.com/Content.aspx?ID=19331 Also, the same link gives you a link to Jimmy Jacobs’ recent interview.

Well that’s it for now. As always, stay clean and healthy and read a good book when you can. Until next time!

WWE:  Ric Flair and WWE have officially parted ways, after months of WWE withholding Flair from regular bookings. Flair was unhappy at the fact that he had to turn down NWA bookings, an ROH appearance, and several other showings, due to WWE last minute pulling him. Flair will now be able to focus on a post-WWE Indy career, returning to his roots.

In other news, Ken Kennedy will undergo an MRI to determine how damaged his shoulder is. Ken suffered a dislocated shoulder during a match recently, and will be out several weeks.

Saturday Night’s Main Event was a commercial flop, and most of the matches from Saturday to Tuesday were hastily put together rehashes and last minute haphazard bookings that made the crowds yawn. To save time, I’m just going to pass along the news from the three shows:

Batista and John Cena are the new WWE RAW tag team champions after beating Ted Dibiase JR and Cody Rhodes Monday night. Mike Adamle chose to book the SummerSlam opponents as a tag team, thus resulting in a whuppin for the upstart Cody and Ted. The upside is that the boys have had a sobering match. The downside is that the card for SummerSlam is now all messed up! Tag team members facing each other is always a bad move.

Also, Adamle killed any and all momentum Kofi Kingston had for Paul Burchill, and any potential Katie Lea had with Mickie James, as he has now booked Kofi and Mickie against Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix for SummerSlam, winning team gets BOTH belts. This now ensures that these wrestlers will be flying into next week’s PPV by the seat of their pants.

Adamle however may just back himself into a dark corner, as he is threatening to force Kane to reveal what Kane has in his bag by next week. Speaking of, Kane decimated Matt Stryker in a match on Raw, to the delight of the crowd. Kane acted as a gentleman, apologizing for his actions over the last few weeks.

Tazz mysteriously was absent from ECW this week, so in an emergency act, Stryker was sent out to commentate alongside Todd Grisham.

Colin Delaney helped Armando score a win over Tommy Dreamer, giving Armando a full time ECW contract. Colin told Armando that even though as GM, Armando had tried to kill Colin; he did give him a chance. Colin’s help will be rewarded next week, by a match with Tommy.

TNA:  Last Thursday’s Impact left much to be desired, due to Vince Russo and Dixie Carter’s usual antics, so like the WWE report; I am limiting this to the absolute facts.

Samoa Joe and A.J. Styles have agreed to dislike Sting. The ROH alumni both tangled with Sting antagonizing them from afar. Joe once more tasted the bat Sting carries, as Booker T was dropped the bat from the rafters, prompting the commentary team to drop the “Yea WCW alumni, boo new guy” act completely, as Mike Tenay looked straight up at the rafters, screaming “What that hell are you doing, STING???” Not soon after this, AJ called Sting out, only for Kurt Angle to bop A.J. in the head. Joe would later climb the rafters irate, looking for the demented Sting, only to find a black crow perched high above.

In other news, Jay Lethal attempted to re-ask So Cal Val for her hand in marriage, but noticed that her hand is bare. Val, unaware that Sonjay stole her ring, told Jay that she lost it somewhere. Jay cried, thinking that Val doesn’t love him, hence all of the trouble getting her to wed him. Jay ran away, alerting friends Curry Man, Super Eric and Shark Boy. The three worked together, finding the tape incriminating Sonjay Dutt. Hopefully by tonight this will all get sorted out.

ROH: CONGRATULATIONS BRENT ALBRIGHT!!! Brent won the NWA title from Adam Pearce this week in retaliation for Adam hitting Brent with a fireball June 28. Brent’s first title defense will be in
Chicago August 16th, as he will go up against Sweet n’ Sour’s Go Shiozaki.

In other news, the new Ring of Honor videowire is up, and BOY is it worth seeing this week. Lance Storm fans will be happy to see Lance’s new look and also there’s a HUGE update about Rhett Titus’s relationship with Daizee Haze. Head on over to rohwrestling.com for details!

Mixed Media: Mark Jindrak a.k.a Marco Corleone joins Shocker, El Terrible and El Hijo Del Texano on a list of banned wrestlers from wrestling in
Tijuana, Mexico following an incident, in which all four men pulled each other’s tights during a match. The
Tijuana commission has banned the CMLL/EMLL stars from the ring for one full year. In
America, pulling of the tights is an illegal hold in 67% of all promotions, yet very few officials do more than have the referees restart the match. The
Tijuana commission however has strict standards when it comes to fair matches, and wishes to implement that to the fullest.

Well that does it for now. As always stay clean and healthy and read a good book when you can. Until next time!
