Hello everyone! Okay so I’m a day late. Gomen Nasai! Anyway, let’s get to today’s news!
Sailormoon: Even after all this time, Sailor Moon is still touching kids and adults in a sweet way. Check out today’s news article on a non-profit live action Sailormoon show here: http://manga.about.com/od/imagegalleries/ig/WonderCon-2008-Gallery/WC08-Sailor-Moon.htm
On a side note, Sci-Fi network may be another contender to think about for Sailormoon, as their “Ani-Monday” block returns to air this Monday, after being pre-empted Memorial Day for a movie marathon. Although Sci-Fi usually will only play dubbed anime, on occasion the network has played subtitled anime as well. Perhaps if a new UNCENSORED dub of Sailormoon came out, then this would be a great network to house it. So far, Sci-Fi this year has played Street Fighter and Macross!
WWE: Due to size, the ECW results get to be in a separate area today. Raw aired live Monday, but was pretty lackluster. The main news is that Ted Dibiase Jr. made his official debut, the Draft is coming soon, and Vince is giving away money. Here’s the Raw rundown:
Melina beat the daylights out of Jillian.
Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly beat Paul London and Brian Kendrick, after Hardcore Alabama-SLAMMAed Paul so hard he passed out!
After the match, The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase came out to introduce his son, Ted jr. Lil’ Ted announced that he intends to become a champion, and wishes to take the belts off of Cody and Hardcore. Ted jr smirked “Everybody’s got a price… but I’m priceless!”
Umaga and JBL somehow won against Jeff “They’re tryin’ to kill me” Hardy and John “why u do me like dat” Cena.
Mr. Kennedy defeated Carlito, but then was beaten down by Paul Burchill, after Katie Lea said that they were both upset over Regal being drummed out of WWE after losing to Ken. (Wait, I thought Regal didn’t like Burchill?)
HBK and Y2J battled to a no contest, after both men recieved a 10 count. The two shook hands. (????)
After the match, Vince rallied up the Raw roster, to inform everyone that a tri-brand draft will begin in 4 weeks. Also, catch Raw each week as Vince will be giving away money. Yeah, he has to PAY FANS to watch Raw now. Ah well, easy cash.
ECW: During ECW’s broadcast tonight, 5 clips from previous ECW title victories aired, the first of which was Big Show’s controversial victory over RVD with Paul Heyman’s help! The second was C.M. Punk’s victory over John Morrison. The third was the deplorable no DQ match from January 22 of this year, that resulted in Chavo’s ECW title win over C.M. Punk. (It took ALL of Edge’s crew to beat ONE man.) Fourth was Tommy Dreamer’s sweet and emotional victory over Tazz back in original ECW in 2000. And fifth was Morrison’s fluke win over C.M. Punk last year at The Night of Champions. Morrison’s win was marred not only by his heel tactics, but by the fact that he had taken Benoit’s place in the match, the weekend Benoit and his family died.
Only four matches aired for Tuesday’s broadcast. A step in the right direction for the ailing brand, but still a tad short, considering that if you were to take out one promo and at least two of tonight’s “match flashbacks” you would have had enough time for one more match, maybe two if Miz and Morrison’s entrance had been cut down.
Big Show defeated Tommy Dreamer~ Tommy tried his hardest, and definitely lasted longer than most competitors, but ultimately Big Show was too much, especially after ‘Show stepped on Tommy’s left hip! OUCH!
Kofi Kingston defeated Mike Knox~ While the match went on; Shelton Benjamin provided commentary, as Shelton’s jealousy continues. Near the end of the match, Knox sent Kofi to the ropes, Kofi went through, flipped up and then kicked Knox in the face, bloodying Knox above the left eye. After the match, Shelton leapt into the ring, and both Knox and Shelton began beating upon Kofi, leaving Kofi with a monumental headache.
C.M. Punk lost a match to Chavo (with Bam Neely in his corner)~ The classic “CHAVO SUCKS” chants were LOUD after Chavo just barely evaded a Go To Sleep attempt by Punk at the start of the match. A desperate Bam frequently bent the ropes and attempted to help Chavo cheat. Chavo gained a fluke victory via rollup.
Kane wins via DQ over John Morrison and Miz in a handicap match~ The referee for this match was Scott Armstrong~ One of TNA’s B.G. James’s 5 older brothers and son of Bullet Bob Armstrong. You should know that B.G. is the best of Bob’s litter of five. Scott Disqualified Miz and Morrison, after the two held on tight to Kane as Kane held onto the ropes. Even though refs’ are supposed to do a count of five whenever wrestlers are in this sort of situation, Scott chose instead to DQ the team, due to the fact that they weren’t tagging. After the bout, C.M. Punk, Chavo and several more wrestlers got into the ring to beat Miz and Morrison off of Kane, then the heels beat on the faces and Kane, and then Big Show came in and cleared them all out, the show closed with Kane and Big Show staring each other down.
If you get Madison Square Garden tv (MSG), tune in tonight at 7 pm ct./ 8 pm et for two whole hours of classic WWF matches!!
TNA: There are no truth to the rumors of Ultimate Warrior showing up for iMPACT either this week or next.
ROH: If you have about $15.00 to spend, buy Friday’s PPV showing of Take no Prisoners! Hey, why is Jimmy Jacobs on the ad? Hmm…
Well that’s that for right now. As always stay clean and healthy and read a good book when you can. Until next time!
