Hello everyone! I had to take a few days off to comprehend the amount of dribble spewed forth on both WWE AND TNA programming over the last week. A very sad thing for me to type at all, when writing about TNA.  As reported Monday and Tuesday, this was national “Writers insult the Viewers Week”. Whereas most shows drowned us with environmental warnings, WWE and TNA chose to drown us with several incriments of stoooupid. Alot of today’s wrestling news comes from all over, so expect to see new sections in today’s blog!

On the upswing though, I do have some Sailormoon news to report along with the wrestling side, so let’s get to it!

In memoriam: Elevera Anoai Fatu, the mother of Tonga Kid, Rikishi and Umaga, has sadly passed on. She was the sister of Afa and Sika (The Wild Samoans), and she had been battling cancer at the time of her passing. Condolences and prayers go out to her family.

Sailormoon: Tune into Jetix/Toon Disney THIS MONDAY for the latest episode of YinYangYo! In this episode, which is a parody of D.C.’s “Teen Titans”, Yin is wearing a SAILOR MOON costume. She is featured in the commercial for said episode, criticizing the sailor suit and tiara. With Pucca last year having aired “Tokyo-a-go-go” where title character Pucca transforms into Sailor Pucca Moon, and now with Yin on YinYangYo sporting a variation of Sailor Moon’s costume, could this be Toon Disney or Jetix’s subtle way of saying that they are trying to get at least the 1995-2001 cut of Sailormoon? Think about it, Jetix and Toon Disney both already have several blocks of programming devoted to 1990’s television shows, with the main Jetix block worldwide airing several animes (Digimon, Shinzo, and in the UK Sonic X) while Toon Disney’s portion airs Pinky and the Brain, The Tick, Superman and Batman. Also, DiC was once a part of the main Disney franchise, as is currently Buena Vista~ Which was the FIRST distributor of Sailormoon videos in the late 90’s. As scary as this sounds, the ties that Disney have to Sailormoon would be strong enough for them to get the show back, ESPECIALLY now that Disney and Toei have a firm bond. With the two companies already having brought you several Disney movies, PLUS the new line of Asian inspired shows set to debut from the Teoi/Disney crossover in Japan this Fall, this is becoming quite a predicament.

Mixed Media: Did you know that current TNA female announcer Lauren Brooke was actually brought in by Spike TV? Lauren makes the third blonde announcer brought to TNA in less than one year.  Also, did you know that current TNA Knockout Salinas (aka Ariel, Shelley Martinez) has a cousin in WEW? Mercedes~who was once in ROH and is a contracted SHIMMER wrestler~ lost in a hard hitting match on WEW television this week to Salinas. Accourding to the announcer, their feud hasn’t been completely explored on free WEW tv, which airs on the Sunshine network Thursday mornings at 2:01 ct/ 3:01 et am. The announcer for WEW mentioned that at one point, the two cousins went their separate ways when breaking into US Wrestling, and that somewhere along the way, Salinas once took her cousin’s man. If anyone has further info on this developing storyline, please leave a comment below. No bad languige though, as my comment box is having some sort of censor error, and I haven’t fixed it yet.

Michael P.S. Hayes Watch: Okay, lemme adress the under 20 crowd first. For those of you who are too young to remember, Hayes was once a popular wrestler and one third of The Freebirds~ a legendary tag team. For you kids who’s parents allow you to stay up late, you can catch old footage of Hayes on AWA Classic Wrestling on ESPN Classic every weeknight at 12/1 am. You may even remember MVP beating him up on Smackdown a few months ago. Hayes is a writer for SmackDown, employed by the WWE.

For everyone else, I’m sure by now you’ve all heard about the recent incident.

Hayes has been suspended 60 days without pay by WWE, after a horrid incident at WM24. Apperantly several people (including TMZ.com) overheard Hayes ranting drunkenly to Mark Henry, claiming that Mark isn’t “black enough”, and then Hayes proceeded to call Mark a very horrible word that begins with the letter N. This is not a isolated incident apperantly! Several wrestlers (whose names I won’t mention) are coming forward, each one with a complaint of his/her own, as most wrestlers worldwide are angered at Hayes’ remarks. One wrestler who respects Ranjin Singh (whom I hear is very cool in person), claims that Hayes belittled Singh a while back, imitating an Indian accent, and called him a bad name. Other wrestlers complain that Hayes’ is 99% drunk, and that this sort of idiocy is typical out of him.

Hayes’ current ‘tude doesn’t seem to match the image the man once held in AWA. Exactly how the once buff P.S. with long flowing locks, degraded himself down to where he is today, is almost unkown, save but for a few of the men and women who watched him all these years.

WWE: I’m going to skip the SmackDown report, as the only two things of noteare that Undertaker beat Batista, after HBK gave Batista Sweet Chin Music, and Natalya (Nattie) Neidhart beat the living snot out of Cherry. Natalya used many of her dad’s moves, and then beat Cherry with the Sharpshooter, made popular by her uncle Bret Hart. AWWWW! Natalya and Cherry have the best bods on SmackDown, and Natalya makes the third women’s wrestler currently employed by WWE to use non-diva moves, the others being Victoria and Beth Phoenix.  Anyway, now to Backlash.

The lovable Mick Foley has debuted as SmackDown’s new announcer, replacing Coach. While this is a great way for WWE to save SmackDown, I can’t help but wonder why Mick wasn’t sent to ECW, SINCE MICK IS AN ECW ORIGINAL, AND WAS ONE OF THE GUYS RESPONSIBLE FOR PUTTING ECW ON THE MAP!! Anyway, any chance to see Mick is a great one!

 MATT HARDY IS YOUR NEW US CHAMPION!!! Matt evaded all of MVP’s usual tactics, to end a title reign that lasted more than 10 months. And even though Chavo brought Bam Neely with him as a helper, Chavo was unable to beat Kane, and so KANE RETAINS!!! Big Show Chokeslammed Khali to score a win, after a long match where Khali showed off his regular mat skills. HBK tricked Batista with the old “possum” gag to score a miracle win. Remember kids! “Possum ain’t dead ’till you scrape it off the road.”~ Sal Bandini from the movie Ready to Rumble. Go rent it! The next match was all about heels vs. faces as the heel divas of Natalya, Beth Phoenix, Melina, Jillian, Victoria and Layla defeated the kinda face faction of Cherry, Mickie, Maria, Ashley, Michelle and kellyKelly. UNDERTAKER RETAINS!!! Yep Edge just tapped like Shirley Temple. However Edge was bleeding quite a bit after the bout, and was carried off via stretcher . No word on Edge’s condition.  And now the devastating news….

Triple H is your new Raw champion.

Yes, I could just cry about now. Hey WWE! Since HHH is the new champ, how about giving him a new challenger, whose name ISN’T JBL or Randy Orton, ’cause we’re all just SICK of them. How about A Hardy boy, or Jericho, or Regal or Funaki or Hardcore Holly (since you ignore the tag belts), or… or…. dang, I can keep going!

TNA: Okay, after rewatching Impact, I’m sorry to tell you that out of respect for the wrestlers on said show, I’m going to omit most of this week’s taping. I’ll just point out the important stuff. Samoa Joe beat the daylights out of Kurt Angle, retaining the title. Scott Steiner helped a bit, by whapping Kurt with a blunt object while Joe and the ref were distracted. After the match, Scott babbled incoherently at Kurt and Joe, and so Jim Cornette~now the most hated man on the roster outside of Earl Hebner~ decided to change the match at Sacrifice, by making it a 3 way for joe’s belt. It will now be Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle vs. Scott Steiner.

And that’s not all in the Cornette’s-insane dept.

ROH fans remember that Cornette was mental as all get out, before he was dropped from the ROH roster a while back, and now his insanity has gone into TNA.

Cornette rambled on Impact Thursday, saying that he is sick and tired of the entire roster, calling them spoiled moronic crybaby bimbos. He also said that at Sacrifice, he wants to see carrers, bodies and even a human being’s LIFE sacrificed. (This comment scared new commentator Lauren.) To that, Cornette wouls later announce a women’s battle royal for the PPV. It will start off with most of the TNA Knockout locker room piling into the ring, and then it will change into a women’s ladder match after all but two are eliminated. The winner gets to face off against Awesome Kong for the title. Loser gets a Britney-inspired makeover~ where she will be shaved bald. Out of touch there, Jimbo? Yeah, I can just imagine what the ladies are going through: If I win, Kong beats me up. If I lose, I get shaved. I just plain LOSE!

Ahe but it gets better.

Cornette didn’t forget the men that night, as not only did he screw up Joe’s match, but he also added the Deuces Wild Tag Team tournament. Here’s how the match works:
 
* Eight LEGIT tag teams will compete in tournament bouts on Impact to qualify for the Deuces Wild Match.
* Four teams will win. Then the four winning teams will make it to Sacrifice.
* Four more teams made up of singles performers will be put together randomly to face the four legit teams that qualified during Sacrifice.

……….. O_o; HUH??? If you need to go back and re-read that line, go ahead and do so. And if you think Jimbo here’s lost his mind, then you are correct.

Also, there are stories hitting several newspapers claiming that Shark Boy is to get his own show, aimed at preschoolers. Weather or not there’s any weight to this remains to be seen.

ROH: rohwrestling.com has a lenghty report on all the latest troubles surrounding certain wrestlers. It’s amazing how many of the feuds have a connection! Also there is mentioned Roderick Strong’s woes, as he is trying to maintain focus while dueling with Erick Stevens and also swatting away Larry Sweeney.
