Hello everyone! I hope you had a good Earth Day yesterday. No news on Sailormoon, except for the fact that more newspapers online are comparing some of the new video games to the beautiful style of Sailormoon. But there’s plenty of wrestling news, so today I’ll start off with the most important news first, and then the WWE/TNA bits.
ROH: As you know, Mark Briscoe was stabbed after his match on Saturday by Jimmy Jacobs. Mark is set to undergo surgery Friday to repair the damage. His older brother Jay was told yesterday that Mark’s injury will not mean a vacation of the tag team belts. Jay is allowed to keep his half of the belts, but he will need to find a stand-in for Mark. Jay is currently making his decision, and will pick somebody already on the ROH roster. Jay will make his decision soon, and rohwrestling.com will have an update shortly.
WWE: Apperantly it’s national “Booking Commitee Insults Viewer’s Intelligence Week” as WWE once again failed to entertain the masses. Odds are, if you are reading this, then you are already sick of hearing about Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Barack Obama’s apperance on Raw, but if you have succesfully avoided Monady’s travesty, here’s a brief run-through.
The three Presidential Candidates invaded Raw, each one giving lame, outdated speeches, trying to mimick wrestlers whom are NO LONGER ACTIVE. Hillary was Hulk Hogan, Obama was The Rock and McCain was Ric Flair. I’m not going to re-type the whole thing, I’m only going to point out that Obama is for universal healthcare, which America desparately needs. Anyway, Shimmer wrestler Lexi “Remember what happened to Ace Steel” Fyfe played Hillary, while EWA-CWA wrestler Deon “Don’t you ever do this again” Davis played Obama, and the two wrestled briefly, after the REAL Hillary and Obama had already embarrased themselves. The match lasted, until Umaga saved the day, knocking them both out.
William Regal became the new King of the Ring, after beating Hornswoggle, Finlay and CM Punk during the taping. Regal was the only one who had any kind of break during the gauntlet, as Finlay was already injured, having had his knees clubbed in by Khali. Hornswoggle tapped quickly in Regal’s first match in the tournament, and CM Punk was already suffering from severe back pain and knee problems.
Most of the other Raw matches were hastily thrown together, as were the matches last night on ECW. ECW ended with Edge’s “Cutting Edge” show, as Kane was his guest. Kane thrilled wrestling fans everywhere, with his mic skills, trouncing Edge, who had the audacity to bring up Lita, Kane and Lita’s dead baby, Kane’s dead parents, Kane’s accident, and the fact that Edge took Lita from Matt and Kane both. Edge briefly mention that Kane had another bad relationship prior to Lita. Was this in reference to Tori, Chyna or Katie Vick? Hmm. Anyway, what started off as entertaining suddenly turned violent, after Kane bopped Edge’s head. Edge, Curt Hawkins, Zach Ryder and Bam Neeley beat on Kane, and then Chavo bashed Kane’s knee in with a chair.
AND THE BOOKING DEPT. MISSED A GRAND OPPORTUNITY FOR UNDERTAKER TO COME IN AND SAVE HIS BABY BROTHER, BUT OF COURSE SINCE NOBODY AT WWE IS THAT PARTICULAR IN THE BRIGHTNESS CATEGORY, KANE WAS LEFT ALONE FOR NO GOOD REASON!
And they wonder why the ratings are slumping?
PWO: Saturday saw Gregory Iron get seriously hurt by Johnny Gargano near the end of this week’s taping. Gregory at one point was unable to breathe, after Gargano dropped him on his already injured head, and assaulted him, until the other wrestlers piled in. Gargano was dragged away, laughing, as all of the PWO wrestlers used a table and part of the set to make a make-shift gurney. One of the staff has had some basic medical training, and was able to stabilize Gregory’s neck, as the kid was trying to stay awake. One of the commentators even attempted to beat Gargano, as Gargano was boasting about beating up the kid with cerebal palsy. After several intense minutes, Gregory was hoisted out of the building. As someone whom has seen people struggle with cerebal palsy, and those whom are recovering from brain trauma as Gregory is, I am deeply appalled not only at Gargano, who is sick and depraved and beats on the handicapped quite often, but also at the promoter for PWO. What exactly is your problem, “sir”? Why would you
a. Hire a guy like Gargano, who thrives off of beating on ONLY the handicapped, and NOT the healthy wrestlers.
b. allow Gregory Iron to compete, knowing full well that he had no medical clearance, and already has suffered from brain hemmoraging and palsy, and
c. think in your head that this is actually a good thing to do???
Any promoter in his RIGHT mind, would have sent Gregory home, and then fired Gargano, or at least gotten counseling for Gargano before EVER letting Saturday’s events play out on PWO. For shame!
Well, that’s enough for now. As always, stay clean and healthy, and read a good book when you can. Until Next Time!
GET WELL SOON GREGORY IRON!
